He was caught skipping an entire day of school to go play games at an arcade, and organized a protest on a local lab for how wrong they were, and mocked his history teacher for believing in religion, and he managed to somehow do these 3 things while he was 12. When his parents heard about this they were furious and would give him cruel punishments whenever he did something like this. Since the Chinese were visiting the U.S. for a week this enraged Calvin not because they were visiting for a week but because his father believed that they were in the right, this also resulted in a punishment by his father. Around this time Chinese people were reporting mysterious stones thrown at their window outside their home and Calvin's grades were really starting to decline which also lead to again more punishments.
