Chapter 3

Pamela was surprised to get the call, but in some ways she had been expecting this for years. It had been 15 years since that demon tried to seduce her to Evil. Pam's grandfather Victor sacrificed his life to imprison Jason. Since that day Pam had served in the Peace Corps, worked for the State Department, become a wife and mother. Her aunts, Piper, Phoebe, and Paige helped train her in magick and witchcraft, because she feared the day Jason would find a way out. Now, something called the Hollow, something so dangerous that Good and Evil actually agreed to keep it secure, had been released. One demon even broke ranks and tried to warn them, only to be destroyed by his master. Jason could resurrect that demon, so Pam agreed to ask her ex-boyfriend for help. Wyatt, now 19 years old, was able to orb the two of them to the Underworld. They found Jason, and his friend Zankou, they were watching football together. Jason was surprised to see her back, but happy about it. Zankou left them alone to talk.

Jason: Pamela, you look good. You've aged a little, but you still look good.

Pam: You haven't aged much.

Jason: The benefit of evil. So, what brings you down here?

Pam: Ever hear of something called the Hollow?

Jason: Yes, you're not thinking of releasing it, are you?

Pam: No, but from what I've heard someone else has. Do you know who?

Jason: No, but then I've been out of the game for awhile. There's always one punk with something to prove.

Pam: The demon you assigned to guard it, he tried to warn us, but he was destroyed before he could tell us much.

Jason: And you want me to resurrect him so he can tell what he knows.

Pam: Yes. The Hollow is a threat to us all. If it's not stopped, you'll never be free to reclaim your power.

Jason: Fair enough.

Jason began resurrecting this devil. Previously he could resurrect entire legions with no trouble, but now he could barely resurrect this one. The devil was barely holding himself together, seemed to be on the verge of dissapearing.

Pam: What's wrong with him.

Jason: I don't know, I can't keep him here for long.

Devil; I don't know what's happening. After I was vanquished, I found myself going to a new place, it felt strange, but oddly pleasant.

Wyatt: I think I know. Jason can only resurrect those who are bound to the service of Evil. This demon sacrificed his life to save the world. That might mean he's going to be reborn, higher up the karmic ladder. I don't know how long Jason can hold on to him, ask your questions.

Pam: Who has the Hollow?

Devil: The Source.

Jason: How could he be resurrected without me?

Devil: He says there are still some loyalists, who want him to conquer the universe. I don't know anything more specific. I;m sorry my lord, I failed you.

Jason: You've served us well. Do you know any more?

Devil: Myself, the angel, and the avatar, we wounded him, it took all of his remaining strength just to open the gates. You might be able to destroy him now. I'm sorry, I don't know anymore.

Jason: It's fine, go in peace my friend.

The devil dissapeared, going to be reborn as a human. Jason tried to resurrect the Source himself, but failed. It seemed he did indeed find a way to be free from him.

Jason: Even wounded the Source is powerful. You will need every advantage to defeat him, including me. You must free me so that me and my army can stop the Hollow.

Pam: My grandfather sacrificed his life to trap you here. There would be no way to return you after.

Jason: True, we'd be enemies, but we'd all be alive to be enemies. Look at it this way, your grandfather gave the world 15 years of peace from demons, that's not nothing.

Pam: No, I will not let you out. For all I know this whole thing was your plan to free yourself.

Jason: Even if I were crazy enough to mess with the Hollow, I would never let the Source become more powerful than me. If you do not use every advantage, we will all be destroyed.
