Ch 1

Prologue

At four years old, all you want is to be like those princesses' in the movies who meet their prince and go to live happily ever after in a castle. I also never thought that that would be the age that I would meet the love of my life. So when I walked into the diner Kansas City Barbeque (not that I knew that) with my sister and her friend, I saw two men and a boy at the piano singing along to some song. At the age of four, I had no clue what the words meant, so I ignored them and followed my sister to the table, not knowing that the little boy had noticed me too. I heard the music stop a few minutes later, but I didn't care, in favor of drawing on the kid's menu instead. It was only when I felt a tap on my arm did I look up. It was the boy.

"Are you an Angel?" He asked, "You look like one." I felt my face flush and stuttered, "No, I'm Alura."

"Well, do you wanna be my friend?" He asked, and I flushed again, but I answered yes and asked if he wanted to share my french fries and color. We went to the next table, put the french fries in the middle, and started to color. Neither of us noticed our respective parental figures, or sister in my case, introduce themselves and begin to talk and get to know each other.

"Is that your mom, she's very pretty?" He asked me after a while.

"No, that's my big sister Lena; Mommy's in Heaven with Grandpa, and Daddy says I have to live with her 'cause he's too busy with work. It's ok, though. I love Lena; she's the best big sister ever. What's it like having a mommy and daddy?"

"I love it! Daddy flies planes for the Navy with Uncle Mav, and Mommy stays home with me. I want to be just like him when I grow up and fly planes." He said. Meanwhile, the adults looked on, and Carole and Alena could tell there would be many play dates in the future, while Maverick or Uncle Mav told Goose that Bradley was better at getting the girls than his old man, which earned him a slap from Carole.

From then on, the two kids were inseparable; if you saw one, the other wasn't far behind. It made for an easier time when they lost Goose not long after. Both Diaz girls were there for Carole and Bradley while they went through mourning the loss of Goose. As the two kids got older, it became apparent that their friendship was growing into something else, and so, while everyone was celebrating the wedding of Alena and Maverick, or Pete as he was also known, the two kids snuck off and had their ceremony and shared their first kiss at only eight years old. The adults found them cuddling up on the couch a couple of hours later, asleep and holding hands. They took a picture, woke them up, and took them to Carole's car since Lena and Mav were going on a honeymoon, and Alura would stay with the Bradshaws.

Years passed, and the kids were now thirteen and finally showing interest in being more than just friends. So when Bradley stutteringly asks Alura on a date in the middle of the school cafeteria, her shout of "YES" gets everyone staring, even if they're not surprised. They dated all through eighth grade and high school, never once breaking up or even looking at anyone else. When it came time to pick their careers, both chose the route of the Navy like that of Bradley's dad and Alura's Brother-in-law. No one could know that Maverick would do something that would make both kids hate him for years to come. He pulled their admission papers for the Naval academy, so they had to wait another four years before reapplying. In that time, the two left and went to college, with Alura becoming a singer and Bradley attending the University of Virginia and getting a bachelor's in Political Science. The two end up getting married in that first year at a small chapel with just a couple of friends as witnesses, as both are still furious with Mav, and they couldn't invite Lena without him coming.

Once the four years were up, both Bradley and Alura reapplied and were admitted into the Naval academy and quickly rose up the ranks. With both becoming Top Gun Graduates in separate years of each other and both getting first in their class. They became known as Rooster and Reina del Sol or simply Sol. Over time the couple was separated and went to different places for missions they couldn't tell the other about. When Alura was stateside, she was working on her music career. Bradley and Alura both became Lieutenants, and neither knew what they were in store for when they were both recalled to Top Gun. It just so happened that when Alura got the call, she was doing the last concert in her tour and was already in San Diego. So she packed up her car and drove to Miramar.

Upon arriving, she dropped her stuff at the base and made her way to the Hard Deck, wearing her signature black skinny jeans, purple crop top with a black leather jacket, and black wedges. She sees no one from her graduating class, so she walks up to Penny and asks about giving a little performance, not noticing the man at the bar. Just as she gets an affirmative and as Penny walks up to the stage to introduce her, she hears a woman's voice shout her name looking over, she notices it's not her being called but her husband, who just walked in. She decides to surprise him and turns around before he can see her and runs up to Penny telling her the plan and not to introduce her by name. Once penny unplugs the jukebox Alura hears groans and dabbles on the piano before starting to play her song Hold My Hand. when the crowd gathers around she looks up and sees her husband standing there with shock on his face. She just smiles and continues till she reaches the songs end and is rewarded with cheers and clapping. Suddenly she is pulled off the seat iino a hug.

I hope you all like this new story. Don't worry I am still updating my other ones I just needed to get this out of my head and onto paper. As you can see it's their lives playing out like in a scene and years skipping between the original Top gun and TG: Maverick. I'm also sorry it's taking me so long to update but with school and working one full time and one near full time job you can imagine the stress im under. Plus i've been really sick for two months now and I'm finally getting better. Also please if you don't like this story don't read. I'm tired of the hate messages. If you have some constructive criticism I am all ears and wiling to listen. .
