"Assassinate Tsukasa Hajime and his goons. Make it silent but The Iron is on the table. Train your Schrift once in a while, kay?"

"It will be done, my lord."

Gerard was formerly a researcher at a certain laboratory in Germany. He was born and raised at the same laboratory that hold Dio. Dio Rosen saved his life. No, Dio spared his life. Dio gave his life a new meaning, a new purpose. He obtained unimaginable power. Everything he knew about magic went to dust by meeting Dio. His thirst for power and knowledge made him follow Dio. When everyone looked down on him, Dio came and reached out his hand. "Say, why don't you work for me? I am going to warn you, this job includes murder and espionage. I am not forcing you, kay? I am going to save you from here either way. Don't ever tell me—it's my fault in the future."

That was definitely not something a nine years old boy would say. Where did he learn those words anyway? Gerard only thought about it when he was calmer.

"Tsukasa Hajime is it…?"

A simple google search told him that the guy was an activist for social equality. But the record stopped around two years ago when he protested at Paris, France. Guess this guy got promoted. This is clearly a foreign invasion but then again, Lord Dio doesn't care about the concept of country. Behind his cheerful smile is a twisted persona. Maybe in a good way but twisted nevertheless.

"Fuh…"

Gerard put out his cigarette with beautiful azure reishi.

"Time to move…"

He stood up from his bed and stretched his body. He would rather send one of his minions to do his task but Dio asked him personally. He felt proud but still thought X was better suited for assassination mission.

Beep!

His phone made the sound.

"Director Gerard, tomorrow you are scheduled to—"

Gerard immediately silenced his phone.

"Sigh…"

This was his disguise. He went to Japan to work as a director of a famous pharmaceutical company unaffiliated with the Rosen family. He made it to the top on his own effort. Dio was not involved in his disguise. Gerard had no connection to the Rosen family. Regardless, this was intended to happen.

And yet, he served Dio Rosen still.

Click!

He flicked his fingers.

In a sudden, azure flames covered his whole body. When the flame was gone, he had put on his Sternritter uniform for undercover. Different from the usual white overcoat, Gerard wore a black military uniform covered with black cape made of special fabric to conceal psion. He also wore a black helmet like mask that covered his head. He opened the window and scoured the dark night.

His best lead was the abandoned factory.

So, he went there.

With Hirenkyaku he arrived there in less than three seconds. Even then, he was far slower than Dio because his mastery was lower. He stood on the top of a tree branch, observing the abandoned factory. Nothing suspicious could be seen using normal vision. There was no movement in that place. However, Gerard was a quincy (technically). He could see reiryoku or pushion, spiritual energy of spiritual being. Inside the abandoned building, there was a basement. Gerard could see 57 souls gather in that place. He did not know who was who. So, he needed to get close.

Inside that basement, Tsukasa Hajime was making his speech. "Everyone is born equal and therefore should be treated as an equal! However, magician oppressed us! People like you and me are being oppressed!"

The man was giving his passionate speech surrounded by 50 people. He had a slim build and wore a pair of glasses, unlikely a fighter. From Gerard point of view, the man was not a magician either. The one thing odd about him was his eyes. It radiated a weak pushion as if a magic artifact. The same wave of pushion could be seen from some of his follower. A mind control device or natural talent? Won't work on magicians but might affect non-magician. How very intriguing.

So far, Gerard only found non-magician among his follower. Some of them wore military uniforms and carried assault rifles. Perhaps that was why they were not taken seriously, because they were non-magicians and small in numbers.

"Tsukasa Hajime."

"Who said that—"

Slash!

His head was severed before he could say anything. Blood spurted from the man head like a waterfall. Then, azure flame consumed the man into nothingness. Only his eyes survived.

In front of the fallen body was Gerard. He was holding a steel spear. The tip of the spear was covered in azure reiatsu making it looked like a torch. That spear was a soul cutter or Seele Schneider, a quincy weapon.

"Wha…"

"Aaahhhh!"

"Gyaa!"

Everyone ran away in terror. Some people aimed their gun towards Gerard but Gerard released his killing intent, his spiritual pressure. A dense killing intent covered the whole factory. His reiatsu directly crushed everyone. In a sudden, everyone fell to the ground, paralyzed in fear. Some lost their consciousness and some weaker people lost their soul immediately. He noticed those people did not attack Gerard for revenge but because of fear. Tsukasa Hajime death meant nothing to them.

He showed no mercy nor remorse.

Life was fragile.

The strong always ruled the weak.

He, Gerard was strong.

To him, Dio Rosen was the strongest!

He made a call to contact Dio.

"… Target eliminated." Whispered Gerard.

"Well done."

Then, the call was cut.

That praise alone made him grateful to be alive. Dio made no pleasantries because victory was expected from Gerard. It was Gerard duty, nothing more. He wanted to rejoice but there was other thing needed to be done. He needed to erase any traces of him in that place. Gerard pointed his finger to everyone in the room. There was no room for mercy. He did not care whether they were forced or not. A duty was a duty until it was done. One by one, every body in that room erased by the azure flames of reishi. It was flames that erased the body, mind, and soul.

He was the perfect assassin.

No, quincy was the perfect assassin in that world.

They neither used ancient nor modern magic but another power system. They were undetected by conventional means. To other, they were non-magician. In reality, even most magicians were not their match.

That place was empty as if nothing had ever been there.

Gerard took Tsukasa Hajime's eyes and left.
