It's a typical monday morning, Danny walks into the precinct with a coffee and sits at his desk. He notices that his partner Jackie's desk is cleaned off. "Yo cap" yelled Danny as he walked towards his bosses office. "How come Jack's desk is clean" Capt. Gormley replied " Jackie left yesterday, she transferred to a precinct back home her mother is ill". "Don't worry I have a new partner for you and I think you two will hit it off fine". Actually here she comes now.
In walks a woman early to mid 30's, brunette and very attractive. As she came around the corner she says "no way Danny Regan". Danny with a smile on his face "Maria Baez how are you"? They share a hug and Gormley asks if he should be worried about any romance happening. They ignore him and catch up.
Maria asks " How's Linda and the boys"?
Danny replied "The boys are good, unfortunately myself and Linda are divorced
Maria said Oh no so sorry to hear that
Danny said It's okay, the boys and I have learned to accept it, the pressure of being a cops wife got to be too much for her. Sean and Jack still go and visit her on holidays and every second weekend
Maria said well that's good, how about your father and the rest of the gang.
That is when Gormley cut in Jesus reagan take her out go dinner and play catch up then, we have work to do.
Danny takes Maria to her desk, she asks if he's always like this and Danny says only when he hasn't had any in a long time. He's right though, how about me and you go to dinner say Friday night i'll pick you up at 8.
Maria says sure i'd like that. She takes his phone and programs in her number.
