It has been 6 days since Giselle and Han's wedding and Letty has been without her friend the entire time. This is the longest she has been without her in years. They were best friends. She would have even hung out with Ramsey but had to fly back home to the UK the day after the wedding.

Letty's coworkers had been trying to get her to go out with them since she had started teaching two years ago and finally the week after Christmas break 2022, Letty was convinced. 2nd graders were exhausting and after spending most of her Winter break doing wedding prep she just wanted to relax. She planned fun activities and played music but they were so….energetic. Especially Jack O'Conner. This kid was like the energizer bunny and Sonic the hedgehog all in one. She let him stand in the back of the class to move around, got him to fidget with toys, and even gave her class extra recess to burn energy but that was not going to stop him. Finally, at the end of the week, she emailed his parents requesting a conference.

That Saturday night as she was in an Uber on her way to the nightclub, in a too-short dress with too-high heels, she gave herself an internal pep talk reminding herself that she is young and deserves a fun time. Her coworker Suki was waiting at the curb for her and pulled her into a tight hug.

"Letty! I am so excited that you are here. This is going to be so much fun. Rule number one of Teacher Night Out is No school talk. Everything else goes. My friend Vince is the bouncer and is letting us in without a cover and we have a section." Suki excitedly grabbed her hand and dragged her to the front of the line. All the barely 21-year-old women scoffed at the audacity but Suki learned at their age to make friends with everyone! Look at the benefits.

Suki's friend Vince escorted the duo to their section on the second floor. A large round booth behind the red stanchion awaited them with four champagne bottles on ice, a tray of glasses, and a few other teachers from the school. Friendly "heys" and smiles were thrown as Suki got ready to pop the champagne until a small group approached them/

"Everyone is here!" Suki exclaimed. "I'm going to make very quick introductions so keep up." Letty, Monica, and Riley this is my boyfriend Rome and his friends Dom, Mia, Brian, and Tej." Pop! Goes the champagne and loud cheers soon followed.

Dom was enamored as soon as he heard her laugh. What a coincidence! Twice in one week? He quickly crossed to the opposite end of the booth to squeeze next to Letty. As soon as he sat down, she slightly tilted her head and squinted her eyes.

"You look familiar." she stated quietly. Trying to figure out where she met this man. He smiled at the statement and nodded. "How?"

"Lieutenant Toretto" he declared "Remember now?"

Her jaw dropped. Literally. "Wow, this is…" she couldn't even finish her statement. She shook her head and took a slow sip of champagne. "Well, Lieutenant, my name is Letty. Letty Ortiz." she stuck her hand out to shake his. The longest handshake of their lives.

They just looked into each other's eyes. Champagne in one hand. The other's hand in theirs. Purple lights and loud house music surround them. Thank you Suki was all Letty could think.
