A/N Three days and My streak is still going strong. Let's hope I don't get burnt out.

Chapter 2: Searching

Jackie looked around as the guardians and their helpers hurried back and forth.

Tooth's little fairies were coming and going tweeting to her in an increasing panic. There was a yeti constantly stationed at the globe eying it for Sarah's golden light, which had disappeared from the globe. Bunny was not there but she had been told that he had gone to search on foot for her – He hadn't been back for hours. Sandy was floating on a cloud made of sand sanding thousands upon thousands of tendrils of sand to look for the missing girl.

North wasn't there himself as he had to deliver presents but he had spent every moment, up until he had to go, ordering his Yetis to keep watch for Sarah's light while promising everyone who loved Sarah that he would keep his eyes peeled for her. His eyes were wide and sincere as he said so. "I'll keep extra special eye out for her tonight," North said to Sarah's friends and family. "No one will escape these eyes."

Even Emily Jane -Mother Nature- and Pitch - the former Boogieman - had come. Pitch mainly to be questioned by the Guardians, he had answered every question succinctly and clearly leaving everyone to believe that he was telling the truth- that he hadn't seen Sarah, and didn't know where she was. Mother Goose came as a show of support for her father but did also reveal that she didn't know where "the little gosling" was.

Nicholas and Jessica where eying the globe too, though, only the Yeti's and Santa could make it work, they stared hopefully looking for a new light that didn't belong to a new born child, or a child that had had lost their faith and then, somehow, regained it. Nyx was perched on Nicholas' arm, and Nicholas was idly petting Nyx, as he stared up at the globe beside Phil who had been sent to watch it.

Jack watched Nicholas and Jessica for a moment or two longer before she turned her gaze toward her father and Mother Goose. Jackie stared at her dad who was speaking quietly to Katherine rubbing her back as she ordered people from Santoff Clausen and her own soldiers (because apparently, she had that) to and from specific places on the planet. Jack shared a look with Jackie and gave a small encouraging smile before turning back to help Katherine.

Even now hours later, with all the guardians searching for her, they still weren't any closer to locating the missing girl.

Jonathan, Nicholas and Jessica had been interviewed by the guardians shortly after they raised the alarm. They'd all said the same thing.

Sarah had gone upstairs to ready for the party at the workshop and then never came down. When Jessica had gone upstairs to tell her that it was time to go, she'd opened the door to an empty bedroom. The only living being in there was a wild and frantic Nyx, who, according to Nicholas, was demanding where Sarah was.

Immediately they'd gone searching the entire house and eventually gone to Sarah's preferred hideouts in the town (including calling Jackie and Sophie) and upon not being able to find her they raised the alarm.

Within moments of Jackie and Sophie showing up, Katherine along with a sizable portion of Santoff Clausen showed up. Including Will and his brothers and sister.

"Did she speak to you at all before she left?" Will asked Jackie immediately, without even bothering with a greeting.

Jackie shook her head. "No. you?"

Will shook his head. "I didn't know she was missing till Jonathan called me in a blind panic."

That had been hours ago.

It was the globe that was incredibly worrying, the globe showed every child that believed in the Guardians in the world. If she wasn't on the globe, it meant either one of two things, each unbelievable in its own way. Either 1: She stopped believing in the guardians (which was not possible given she was the granddaughter of a guardian and she'd only been gone for a few hours), or 2: She was no longer on the planet, which didn't seem all that likely either.

Jackie's mother, Sophie Bennett, was sitting beside her rubbing her back, but at a loss of what to say or what to do. Instead opting to let Jackie speak if she needed to.

The children had been ordered to let the adults handle it, and Jackie could feel the itch in her bones to disobey the order. Her friend was out there probably alone and frightened, and she was stuck here. She should be doing something not just sitting around doing nothing.

She looked around trying to decide what to do when she saw Jonathan was seated on the other side of the globe room tinkering with something in his hands, Jackie stood to go after him.

"Jackie?" Sophie asked softly.

"Jonathan looks lonely," Jackie said. "I'm going to go talk to him."

Sophie smiled. "Ok honey." She said, hoping that perhaps being with a friend, a person who was closer to Sarah than Sophie was, might be more helpful to Jackie's mental health.

Jackie walked toward Jonathan and quietly sat down beside him. For a long while, she said nothing just let Jonathan work.

"To be honest, if Christmas got railroaded because someone went missing, I would have put my money on you."

That hurt, as fair as it was. "It's been two years since I last ran away." Jackie countered.

"I know." Jonathan sighed. "Sorry, Sarah's disappeared before obviously but never long enough to make us worried about her."

"The only time I remember her disappearing was when we went searching for Mother Nature," Jackie said. "And you and I went with her."

"Yeah." Jonathan "That was the time I was thinking about."

Jackie smiled and looked down. "I know she'll be ok. She survived Pitch she'll survive anything." At the use of his name, both Jackie and Jonathan turned to stare at Pitch. They watched him speak quietly to his daughter, but neither had made a move to talk to him. Too much had happened for the kids to ever be on amicable terms, even if they did believe he was a changed man.

"Do you think he was telling the truth?" She said softly "That he absolutely no idea?"

"The Guardians seem to think so," Jonathan said looking as though he was just barely able to stop himself from rolling his eyes.

Jackie continued to watch them as the father and daughter duo made their way out of the globe room, to a place a bit more isolated. There was something about them, the look on both their faces that suggested something was off.

"I think we should follow them," Jackie said. "Something about this doesn't feel right."

Jonathan looked at her, before looking in the direction that Pitch and Emily Jane had disappeared to. He twisted something into place on the thing he was building and smiled. "Yeah." He said.

"Let's go."

Jonathan and Jackie stood and quietly followed Mother Nature and her father out of the room.

A/N So Pitch and Emily are acting odd, wonder what they know. If you liked it please leave a review if you didn't leave a review anyway (kindly!) telling me what you didn't like.
