"Thank God it's Friday!" Suki yelled as she walked into the break room. "This week has been H-E Double hockey sticks." Letty laughs at her as she pours her third cup of coffee.

"Suki, I think you say this every single Friday." Letty states. "But you are absolutely right."

"I know," Suki says. "Are you seeing boo thing this weekend?"

The breakroom goes completely silent. Every nosey student and staff member is waiting to see what Letty says and who they are talking about. Letty shakes her head giggles and takes her seat. "Suki, if you must know I am seeing him this evening after work."

Silence. Suki nods. Smiles. Then takes a seat next to Letty. "Tell me more."

"Not much to tell. He's picking me up. Planned a fun evening. I know absolutely nothing."

"Well for your sake, I hope he asked Rome for some ideas. He plans the best dates." Suki reminisces. "Like the best dates I've ever had."

"Why aren't you two official?" Letty quickly changes the subject.

"We aren't not official. We are just two free spirits, ya know?"

"Okay, Suki. Whatever works for you." Letty got up, grabbed her coffee, and walked out of the breakroom. She could hear the click-clack of Suki behind her.

"Leticia Ortiz, I expect a phone call Sunday with all the details!" Suki yelled after her.

Letty turned around and smiled. "You know I don't do Sunday calls."

"Make an exception!"

It's 6:00 pm on the dot. Letty is fluffing out shoulder-length beach waves and adding lipstick as she nervously awaits Dominic's arrival. She reaches for her phone on the wireless charger- 100%. But really she was looking for a text message from him. Deep breath Letty. Chilllllll. Inhale. Exh-Knock. Knock. She hears at the front door. She smiles. Checks herself once more in the mirror. And speed walks to the front door. Knight begins barking as soon as he sees his mom. "Shhh, Knight. It's okay." she pets him.

She opens the door and his jaw drops- Slightly. He's speechless. The hunter green lace body suit, leather jacket, black skinny jeans hugging her in all the right places, and Doc Martens. It was her go-to first-date outfit.

"Letty, you look amazing. Wow." He was still semi-speechless. Just standing in front of her with his hands in his pockets and eyes running up and down her body. Then he peaks behind her to get a look at her dog.

"This is Knight, my protector."

"He's a good one." Dom jokes as he pets the furry friend's head.

"Well Lieutenant, what's the big surprise? Where are we going?" She asks as they step into the crisp air and she locks up.

"So I feel like you aren't a fancy dinner and show kind of woman so we are going to Xlanes, ever heard of it?"

"Xlanes!?" She exclaims "Dom, that is perfect! I've been wanting to go there for so long!"

He laughs at her excitement as they pull off in his Charger. "We'll do dinner and drinks then we have access to the arcade, pool table, bowling, whatever you want."

"I am actually beyond impressed. I had no idea what you would plan but this, this will be hard to top," she says with a slight grin and looks over at him. "Do you mind if I DJ?"

"I don't mind but none of that Taylor Swift or Megan the Stallion shit."

"Oh, you're anti-female empowerment. Gotcha"

"Nah, I just don't want to embarrass myself," he says with a laugh. And she believes him, just a little. So she starts easy- Bad Bunny. Everyone loves Bad Bunny even if you don't understand what he's saying. Then to test him she plays I Did It by DJ KHALED ft. Post Malone, Daaby, and…Megan thee Stallion. She watches him and Megan is the first up "I'm trynna win, don't care how I do it, just know that I did" he raps along. Her eyes widen immediately.

"Wait! You're actually a fan?" she interrupts.

"Told you." he laughs. They sing along to more bangers that Letty picks. No requests allowed she informed him. But as they pull into the Xlanes parking lot Dom thinks about how impressed he is by her taste in music.

The couple walks inside Xlanes and they both smile hard on the way to their table. They talk more and Dom opens up more about his son and his relationship with Baby Brian's mother. Letty listens intently, taking it all in. They agree to share a bucket of Coronas. Dom orders burgers and fries and Letty, the hot honey chicken sandwich. In the end, they cut both burgers in half and share. "They both look so good!" she exclaims, practically drooling. He agrees.

Once they finish their meals and feel up to playing they make their way over to the arcade- with the last of their Coronas. The dinner has been all deep conversations and laughs and now their competitive sides are emerging.

"Care to make a wager." Letty begins. "If I win you bring me coffee every day for a week." he nods his head. Coffee

"Well Leticia, if I win you make me dinner. Just once though." They stare each other down and then shake on it.

"Deal" they state simultaneously.

These two were fierce competitors. They played every dual arcade game available. Their favorite was Guitar Hero. Then they played two rounds of pool. Letty beat Dom twice, but he claims she was distracting him. Go figure. By the end, their tiebreaker was bowling. And who knew that two very athletic and completive individuals would suck at bowling.

But Dom won. Ending the game with a Strike out of nowhere! He raised a fist and smiled and when he turned towards her she was smiling wide and clapping. He sprinted towards her and lifted her in the air with a spin "My trophy" he joked. But as he celebrated his win- her loss she looked down at him in the eyes and he looked up at her. They both leaned in and ended the celebration with a quick peck.
