A/N:

Hi, I'm here with a story, yes a whole new story still on my hero though, the world I feel has a lot of explorable aspects and all the jazz that makes this real fun to dive into. This was inspired by Sir lucifer Morningstar's, A Precise Note. And yeah, this is a prolouge so wont be as long but yeah.

Billboards of beaming smiles and golden locks littered the sides of buildings, a myriad of people littered the tarmac roads and surrounding pavements. Parents hand in hand with children, businessmen and women in elegant suits and even the protesters who claimed monopoly of justice.

Despite the rumbling engines, echoes of chatter still managed to reach his ears,

"Did you see the video of All Might saving that kid?"

"With the slug villain? Yeah it was-"

Disgusting. The disease was spreading, evolving and taking hold, yet those around him remained unawares. The children, the parents, those business men, they were all infected, diseased and those who weren't were simply next in line. It was sickening, so much so that he had to tighten his mask around his ears.

His eyes moved towards the billboard, 'Number One Hero, All Might' it read, he turned away almost instantly. The plague on humanity was so obvious and yet it seemed no one wanted to take action. Even the so called, 'Number One' was just another diseased.

The infected made way as he walked through the crowd, he noted with bemusement that they were almost afraid to get in his way. He took it as a sign that they knew what he truly was. The cure to the era of quirks, if they didn't well they soon would. Time was on his side. The hero's power was waning by the day and he would soon have more that enough to overturn the system.

He neared the stalls of the protestors, recognition and respect was evident. They were of the same mind after all, against quirks they both were. With that, he raised an arm in greeting and proceeded to walk.

The immune were a rarity in the modern day.

Minutes passed and he soon found himself in front of a shadowy alley. The meeting point. He ventured deeper, the smell of smoky ash filled his nostrils. Definitely the right place.

"You called?" He stared ahead, being met with the sight of silver hair and a cigarette protruding from a smiling mouth.

"That I did, Chisaki or should I call you Overhaul?" The middle aged man's voice was rough and callous, but the amusement was clear.

On his part, Chisaki remained stoic. "You can call me whatever you prefer, not that it matters very much in the grand scheme"

"Ahh but it does, considering you'll be the one that cures society presumably" A laugh followed, "Or is that all just talk?"

Chesnutt eyes, hardened into tree trunks as Chisaki glared. "Shut up, Broker, you know little of my plans for this diseased world."

The Broker simply laughed once more, pulling on the collars of his charcoal suit, "I know enough to say that your daughter is quite a large piece of that plan, hm?"

"I wasn't aware I had a daughter"

"Ha, Ha, we both know who I'm referring to, Miss. Rewind herself."

"You're living rather dangerously, Broker." Chisaki raised a hand at this, "Not another word."

The Broker laughed in response, "Do you know why I've called you here Overhaul? I want to make a proposition"

"What kind?"

"You see, I've come under a bit of fire recently, mostly from a certain group. One which you'll know about quite soon, The League of Villains."

"I know of them, those diseased. Why are they after you?"

"You know, a bit of information about this, that and everything in between. I mean being the Number one broker in the world has its benefits. Well in this case its drawbacks, sucks to be the best I suppose."

The man stepped forward and an object in his hand caught Chisaki's eye, a blue band. His interest was noted by the man.

"Interested eh? They call this a limiter, only one of them so far but it does its job."

"What job?", His interest was piqued.

"You know, lowering the potency of quirks and all that but it has other uses." He paused, spitting out his cigarrete. "I assumed you would like to have it considering your recent experiments."

The masked man sighed, extending his white gloved hand to collect , it would have its uses he supposed. He grabbed the band and with a flex of his quirk disassembled it, blue pieces breaking apart and seemingly disappearing. Now within him.

"That quirk of yours is always a sight for sore eyes. Really broken I'd say. Nonetheless, I would like for you to stay away from the League of Villains for a few months and allow them somewhat free reign."

The Purple haired man raised an eyebrow. "Why?"

"You know how the song and dance goes, you'll find out soon enough." The silver haired man, stepped back, "Regardless, that's all. Although there's a piece of information I'd like for you to know free of charge. Just to sweeten the deal."

"Nothing's ever free with you is it? Why now?"

"I have my reasons. Now do you want to know?"

"Speak."

"Rumor has it, All Might is looking for a successor", The broker's grin widened, "He only has around a year or two tops- and even better this successor will come from UA, considering he's taking a teaching job there this year."

Chisaki almost seemed to freeze, were this true, the time of curing and vaccination would soon be upon this diseased society. He levelled his gaze at the Broker, shock evident.

"This is credible information, Gian?", His words were slow and measured.

"You don't get to where I am off falsehood's, do you?" The Broker or Gian as now mentioned, lit another cigarette watching a smoke wafted into the air once more. "Regardless, the information comes from a very credible source, from UA itself in fact."

"So, you're giving me information that All Might is aiming to procure a successor from the new batch of UA graduates? And this is free of charge? What's your angle here, Giran?"

"Well you know, can't really tell you that but if I could hint think of it like, I like to watch dramas and to me there's no greater drama than the old hero, villain song and dance and this time, maybe I'd rather watch the villain prevail especially after the last round."

They both knew he was referring to the one that now dwelled on the underground, well away from the guise of the Pro-Heroes. The one who was either biding time for the end of the symbol of peace or had his own successor waiting in the wings.

"You simply view this as a drama?"

"I mean what else can you call it, the rankings of heroes, the way society erects villains of those heroes or maybe the way quirks seemingly decide all aspects of life. If that isn't a drama then I don't know what is." The man paused, " What I am after is the next one, the next person that seemingly rises above the idea of Hero or Villain, it might be you in fact, one person who can seemingly set the definition for society itself"

"A person above both heroes and villains? Many would argue that's wishful thinking"

"I have a dream Overhaul, one I'll realise regardless." The suited man turned, " Nonetheless, I'll bid you adieu, I'll see you another time."

The man disappeared into the shadows of the alley leaving Chisaki with his thoughts.

Even him too, he carries that disease. The overreliance on heroes and villains. Disgusting.

This world would soon be cured that he was certain of.

Yellow eyes hardened, as he turned the page of the book. He had turned the pages almost lackadaisically until he was met with the page labelled, S plus. The teenager swiped past the page with but a glance, the only indication he had even seen the page was the increased breathing rate and the cold glare. He moved onto the next page albeit slowly.

The teenager rested his head on the table, with a sigh, flicking a dark lock out of his eyes. "Annoying."

"Are you okay, Ray?" The teen averted his gaze, staring up to meet brown eyes, round face and a concerned look. His classmate and childhood friend, Ochaco.

"Yeah, I'm perfectly fine?"

"You were really glaring at that book, what is another one of those ranking books?" She said reaching out for the book. Ray attempted to move the book out of the way but was too slow, her left hand reached out and caught it. She turned it reading the title. Quirk Era and its Defining Moments.

She sighed, before touching the cover with her right and both teens watched as the book floated towards the ceiling, a meagre application of her quirk.

"Why do you always read about this kind of stuff if it annoys you so much?" Ochaco asked, taking her seat beside him, diverting her eyes to the teacher at the front.

"It's not the quirks," He shifted in his seat, turning to face the teacher also, "It's just how people with powerful quirks are treated. It annoys me." He frowned, until she poked him in the cheek, causing him to turn to her and away from the teacher's droning.

"Just don't worry about it so much, especially considering your quirk." She smiled, tugging on the edges of her blazer. "Soon you'll be in UA and you can actually do something about that."

He gave her a bemused look before, extending a finger to her cheek . A small arc of lightning flew, hitting her cheek causing her to shout in surprise, much to his loud laughter.

"Ahaha, Payback's a bi-!"

"Ray, Language!" The teacher's voice rang, cutting him off. He muttered an apology quietening down.

"Sorry, Teach." Ray put his head back on the table, staring at the tecaher.

His gripe with quirks could wait for now. At least untill he was out of class.
