AUTHOR'S NOTE: Before we start this story, I wanted to say a few things.

First off, I'm sorry I haven't been writing a lot lately as I have a job on weekdays, which makes it more difficult to have the time for writing, but it does NOT mean I'm stopped writing.

Second of all, I cancelled "Sodor's Precious Boy" as it was getting a bit too dark, which I find it challenging to write, and that I don't have the motivation to write it.

However, I have more fanfictions to write in the future, and I'm also going to release my TTTE Christmas Fanfiction, and it does have chapters, so hopefully, that will make up for it!

Also, I asked Suicuneluvr's permission to use her wonderful OC, Aurora, and she said "Yes."

Once you've done reading this fanfiction, I HIGHLY suggest to read some of her amazing fanfictions as she's such a creative and talented person! She's such an amazing person, and she would appreciate for some support and encouragement for her fanfictions and upcoming ones!

Anyways… I hoped you guys enjoyed it!

Aurora, Henry, and The Bear Cub

It was a splendid Autumn day on The Island of Sodor. All the people were eager for Winter to come as it brought out the beautiful snow, which makes the island a magical place to be in. All the leaves that were once green and fresh changed into shades of red to amber yellow. Many people appreciated the beauty of Autumn, but no one appreciates it more than one special girl.

Her name was Aurora. She was not like the others as she had unique features. She was part cat and part human. She had beautiful long golden hair with cat ears on top and her hair had a dark sapphire blue tip at the end. Her hair colour also matched her tail with the sapphire blue tip at the end. She had bright blue eyes that sparkled like a gem and she had sharp cat teeth and claws.

Although some might find her intimidating or fascinating, she was a girl with a heart of a child. She was curious about the world as she likes to explore and try out new things like drawing or hiking. She did have a rough past, but she was fortunate to find a home on Sodor with the engines.

She adored her engine family as she sees them as her fathers, brothers, sisters, or cousins. The engines accepted her for who she was, despite her past attitude towards them and humans. All Aurora wanted was a family, being loved, and accepted, and she got all of that from them.

One day, Aurora was ready to seize the day when she was greeted by a large green tender engine named Henry, "Good morning, Aurora."

"Morning, Father!", she purred as she hopped onto his running plate and hugged his face.

Henry responded by kissing her forehead gently before he frowned in concern, "Aurora? Are you sure you won't freeze?"

Aurora was wearing a blue shirt with navy blue shorts and white sneakers. She also wore a silver whistle necklace. She huffed stubbornly, "I'll be fine. I have dealt with the cold before."

"Are you sure? Could you at least put a jacket on?", Henry asked as he spoke softly.

Aurora rolled her eyes before she sighed with her ears folded, "Alright. Good thing is that I got it in my bag."

There, she dug into her bag until she got out her blue jacket as she slowly put it on. Once she was ready, she purred, "Happy?"

Henry smiled, "Of course, my dear. Now, are you ready?"

"Yes, yes!", Aurora cried enthusiastically as she hopped into Henry's cab.

Henry whistled happily as he went off and shouted, "Off we go!"

At Henry's Forest, the trees were filled with warmth and vibrancy as it welcomed the engine in. Henry loved this forest and so did his daughter. It was a sanctuary place from all the troubles and woes. Everything about the forest spells "peaceful" as all the animals lived in harmony, the waterfall poured sparkling water, and the flowers bloomed. The forest was also special as the place was named after Henry.

Once they were in the middle of the forest, Henry applied his brakes and grinned, "Here we are!"

The moment Aurora popped her head out cautiously, she couldn't help but her eyes glistened and her mouth agape as the forest was wonderful. She didn't waste a moment as she hopped off from his father's cab as she saw a pile of leaves. There, she jumped in and rolled around while laughing like an innocent child. Henry couldn't help but chuckle when Aurora was enjoying herself, "This is fun!", she exclaimed.

Henry watched his daughter as Aurora was having the time of her life. Just as Aurora was throwing leaves in the air to make it rain down on her, her ears began to twitch as she went quiet as a mouse. There, her ears perked as she heard something, "Father? Do you hear that?", she asked.

The large green tender engine was surprised, but hummed sadly, "No, I haven't."

Aurora frowned as she swore she heard something and it sounded distressful. After listening for a few seconds, she decided to brush it off as she couldn't hear anything after that. However, just before she could continue her play, she heard the same noise again as she gasped, "There it is again!", she cried.

"What does it sound like?", Henry asked.

"I-I don't know." Aurora frowned before she heard it once again, "I'm going to find out!"

With that, she darted off as Henry cried, "Aurora! Wait! Don't run off!"

Despite Henry being faster than his daughter, Aurora sprinted as she panted. She knew something was wrong as she kept hearing the same noise again. It got her so worried that so many thoughts kept playing in her head. She tried to ignore those thoughts, but she couldn't as she was overwhelmed with so many emotions and thoughts.

Just then, Aurora was close to the noise source as she stopped at her track. Luckily, Henry caught up as he sighed in relief, "Aurora, thank goodness! Don't run off like that."

Aurora folded her ears as she apologised, "Sorry, Father."

However, before Henry could respond, they both heard a cry. Aurora was startled from it as she looked around before she spotted something odd. There was a tree log and inside of it was a brown mass of fur with big paws with sharp claws, "It looks like something is stuck.", Aurora explained to her father before she went close to it.

As she approached, she saw the brown mass of fur started kicking and roaring as she stepped back with her ears flinched. She didn't know what it was, but she knew she had to be careful. So, she walked cautiously towards it until she was close enough. Once she was close enough, she reached out her hands as she grabbed the brown mass of fur.

She tried to pull it out, which caused it to roar in pain. Aurora whispered kindly, "I'm sorry."

There, she attempted to pull and pull until she landed on her back as she held something in her arms. She looked up and gasped. She recognised what the creature was, "Father! Look!", she cried as she ran to him.

"W-what is it?", he asked nervously.

"It's a baby bear.", Aurora purred as she presented the brown bear cub to him.

Henry gasped in horror, "Where did you find it?"

"He was stuck in a tree log.", Aurora replied.

Henry was glad she saved the baby bear, but now he was more concerned as he then asked, "Where's his mother?"

Aurora realised it as she looked at the cub sadly, "I-I don't know. He must be lost or abandoned."

The cat girl pitied the young bear as she felt the same pain when she was alone and abandoned at a young age and was raised with abuse and fear. She looked at the bear cub's eyes as her ears folded. The baby bear responded with a small sad roar as Aurora whispered, "Are you lost?"

The baby bear couldn't understand human language, but judging by his behaviour, it was a clear sign he was lost. Aurora looked at the cub again as she hugged him before she looked at her father, "We need to find his mother."

"Good idea, but she could be deep in the forest that I can't reach.", Henry explained, "And it would be dangerous if you go alone."

Aurora knew that her father made a good point until she thought of an idea, "Let's go together and when we hear a roar, we will go after it!"

Henry agreed with the idea as Aurora carried the bear cub into the cab as Henry puffed slowly along the way. The slight jerk frightened the baby brown bear as Aurora patted him, "Shh, shh, it's okay. We will find your mother."

As they travelled, they were about to lose hope when suddenly, they heard a massive roar. Aurora and Henry were startled by it, but the baby bear recognised the noise as he roared back. Again, something roared again as Henry whispered, "Aurora, I think that's his mother."

Aurora agreed as she picked up the bear cub, hopped off from Henry as she slowly approached the forest as she gulped. She knew it was dangerous, but she sooner had the bear cub be with his mother than being all alone. Once she was inside, she looked around until she spotted a silhouette of a familiar shape.

She gasped as she gently put the baby bear down. There appeared a massive big brown bear with two of her own cubs. Aurora was worried. Was it the bear cub's mother or was it the wrong one? She watched nervously until the baby bear roared happily and ran to the mother bear. The mother bear nudged him before licking his face.

Aurora sighed in relief as she watched the beautiful reunion. There, the bear cub played with his siblings as she whispered, "I'm so glad you're back with your family."

Just then, the mother bear spotted the cat girl as the bear snorted. Aurora stood still, even her tail stood still as she didn't want to provoke her. There, the mother bear slowly approached her, sniffed her before she walked away. Aurora was surprised as the mother bear guided her cubs into the forest.

Aurora was pleased to see that she rescued the baby bear and brought him back to his family. There, she ran back to see her father as Henry asked, "Is he back with his mother."

She hummed, "He is and the mother was happy along with his siblings."

Henry smiled, "That's good to hear, my dear. Say, we should have lunch. Sounds good?"

Aurora heard her stomach growling as she blushed in embarrassment, "Y-yeah… that sounds like a good idea."

With that, she hopped into Henry's cab as he tooted his whistle and went off. Aurora felt particularly proud of herself from helping the bear cub from finding his mother. Even though Henry wasn't her biological father, she will and forever will she Henry as her father and nobody could convince her otherwise. She was lucky like the bear cub to have a family.
