"Oh, look at this little one!" Starfire beamed, crouching down in front of a tree that looked like four branches were glued together by a toddler.

"We're not getting no scrawny tree, we're getting a tree!" Cyborg declared.

"But look how adorable it is. It is of the Charlie Brown variety."

"It looks so sad." Raven commented, looking down on it. "A single ornament would make it collapse."

"Hey come on," Robin gave her a look, "it could handle some tinsel." And grinned.

"Stop being grinches." Beast Boy said. "It could go in the… in the, uh…Maybe! Uhm, no. Nevermind. Sorry Star, I got nothing."

"It is ok." Starfire rose from the crunchy grass, looking longingly at the sad excuse of a Christmas tree. "I do like the big ones as well, although won't it be too big?"

Robin looked over to see Raven biting back a smirk at their innocent friend's seemingly not so innocent comment. "No." He scolded, trying to fight the grin that wanted to come through on his face.

"You guys! Come look at this one!" Cyborg called from somewhere in the makeshift tree forest in some random lot.

"Can't I just sit in the car?" Raven asked as they approached him.

"No! Everyone needs to have input."

"I really don't care."

"So then how about we get Star's depressing tree?" He countered.

She stared him down for a few seconds before giving in. "Fine. Let's see what you found."

Cyborg gave a proud smile as he led them through the many trees to the one he found. "May I present to you, the Titan's Christmas tree!"

It. Was. Giant.

They all craned their necks as the tree kept on rising and rising. Raving claiming she swore she saw clouds around it.

"It's a good looking tree." Robin agreed, circling around it checking for bare patches and dead branches. "But don't you think it's a bit too, big?"

"We have high ceilings." Cyborg pointed out.

"We don't have a stand that big for it."

"We can stop by the store and get one."

"Ah, I see y'all found the 13 footers." A young man came over seeing the teens inspecting the tree. "They're very nice trees. Very solid. Y'all thinking of this one?"

"Yes."

"No."

Cyborg glared at Robin.

"It just seems a bit too-"

"Small?" The man interrupted. "I got some 20's coming in later today."

Cyborg gave Robin a look that could only be described as pure joy.

"Actually, I was thinking of something smaller. We don't have enough decorations to fill this tree out. I don't even think it'll fit on the car."

The man nodded. " Would the 10 footers be more in your price range?"

"What are the prices?"

The man gave a hearty slap of the tree. "This one has a yellow tag which is 250 along with the others in this area. The ones closer to the parking lot are less depending on the size."

They all made gasps and noises of shock and bewilderment at hearing the price of the tree.

"250?! For a tree?!" Beast Boy gaped.

"Oh wait, I'm mistaken. The yellow's are 300."

Eyebrows were shot up at the upped price.

Cyborg slowly bent down to Robin's height and whispered, "Do you think the city will cover this?"

"No." He whispered back.

"So, what are the prices of the ones over there?" Raven asked, pointing to the ones with blue tags.

"Ah, those are 130."

"Let's go look at those." Robin decided, liking the sound of those better. "Thank you for helping."

"Of course! Just give me a holler when you find one y'all like."

The five went closer to the parking lot to look at the more budget friendly trees. The further from the bigger trees they stayed, the more Cyborg's face dropped.

"I was really hoping to have a big tree this year." He grumbled.

"I know," Robin consoled the metal Titan, "but we can't afford a tree that costs so much."

Cyborg sighed. "Yeah, I know."

"Maybe you'll find one you like here. That one looks nice." Raven suggested.

"It's crooked."

"Oh! What about this one?" Starfire chimed next to a thin looking tree.

"Too skinny."

"Not good for bearing sons." Beast Boy quoted.

"This one looks nice and full." Robin pointed.

"Yeah, but the bottom is so bare."

Raven groaned. "Can we just pick one already?"

"Not until we find the one that fits all the criteria!"

"What else besides it being a tree is on the criteria?" Beast Boy asked, plucking a few needles off of one of the branches.

"It has to be taller than me," he looked around, "which these all are. Full," he pointed to a few skinny trees, "which those are not. Not dying and crunchy sounding," he felt the branches of one, "which this one is. Not crooked like this one, that one, and those," he gestured to an entire row of trees, "and no bald spots."

Raven grumbled about this taking forever and sat down on a bench with her chin in her hand, Beast Boy joining her.

"But, that leaves out all of them." Starfire pointed out, looking around for a tree that meets everything on Cybor's list. "The rest of the trees are smaller than you."

"Then I guess we should try again another day." Robin suggested, earning a nod in defeat from Cyborg.

The ride back to the tower was silent, the only noise being the Chrstmas songs on the radio creating an awkward atmosphere with the lack of tree on the roof.

They were all looking out their respective windows when all of a sudden they lurched forward at the sudden stop of the car.

"What?!"

"What happened?!"

"Is everything ok?!"

"Why did you stop?!"

"Ah, I smacked my nose on the window."

In all the confusion and chaos, Cyborg whispered, "There it is."

They all stopped and looked to where he was gazing and saw it.

There, on the side of the road, just beyond the grass, was their dream tree. It was tall, full, not crooked, no bare spots. It was perfect. It was like the clouds parted and a beam of sunlight illuminated it while the angles lowered themselves from the heavens to sing a heavenly melody.

"Am I the only one who hears singing?" Beast Boy gaped in awe at the sight of the tree.

"It's the radio you dumbass." Raven said with an eye roll.

"There it is." Cyborg repeated. "That's our tree."

"How do you plan to retrieve it?" Starfire asked.

"I've got tools in the trunk." Cyborg said as he unclicked his seatbelt and started to get out of the car. "I'm going to get that tree." He concluded with a slam of the door.

They watched him collect the tools in the trunk and practically skipped to the tree.

"Should we help him?" Raven asked.

They continued to watch as he ran away from a particular herd of angry squirrels for a minute before finally approaching the tree.

"I think he's got it." Robin answered just as they felt the ground shake of the fallen tree.

"He did it!" Starfire cheered.

"Yeah, but how are we going to tie it to the roof of the car?" Raven asked. "We don't have any rope."

The four of them looked at eachother like idiots trying to come up with an idea.

"Maybe it's so heavy that it won't need to be tied?" Beast Boy suggested.

"Because that makes perfect sense." Raven droned.

They didn't have much time to think before Cyborg came over with the tree thrown over his shoulder with a big smile. "Now that is how you cut down a tree."

"Was getting chased by squirrels part of the plan?"

"You know, your attitude has not been very holly jolly today miss thing." Cyborg said, giving Raven a look before his face fell. "Shit. How are we going to tie it to the car?!"
