Two swords clashed and sparks rained down the side of Weiss Schnee's face. The princess was clad in full body armour, dark blue with silver highlights. The armour was made completely out of Derstilium, an alloy made out of the highly magically reactive crystalline material known as Dust, combined with a magically reactive metal to serve as a base. Said armour did an excellent job at ensuring that she didn't get cut as she redirected the Derstilium broadsword to her side with her own Derstilium greatsword.

The tip of the young man's sword tinked against the ground and Weiss was quick to punish this. She moved her much heavier sword down ontop of his to force him to bend forward. Turning her sword backwards, she used the hilt of her weapon to wrestle his hands free from his own blade by threatening to crush his fingers. Quickly she used the round bottom of the hilt to jab him in the face, forcing him back.

Weiss kneed the man in the stomach with the sharp, pointed spike on her knee. His own armour protected him from being impaled but the pain forced him to take a step back. Weiss grabbed his ponytail and pulled him back as hard as she could, she heard the hair be ripped from his skull but not fully detach from his head. She threw the man to the ground beside her and stepped on his chest with her heavy armoured boot.

Readjusting her grip on her weapon, she moved his sword further away with her own and put her blade against his neck. Finally, for the first time sense this started, Weiss looked away from her sparring partner. The room was massive and empty, with a ceiling nearly thirty feet high. The walls were decorated with stripes of silver and gold and the floor was solid marble with no noticeable tile or pattern. Weiss didn't care for the unneeded beauty of the room, considering it always wound up damaged from blades and magic. Instead, her eyes focused above her; at the glass keeping her father from harm.

The king stared down with a cold hearted glare of disapproval and unmet expectation. Weiss silently sighed to herself and looked down at the man below her, and his eyes filled with fear as he realized what she was about to do. He saw the eyes of a women with a uncaring disposition, merciless and cruel as she didn't hesitate to raise the weapon with both hands and plunge the greatsword into his throat. What was truly behind her eyes was dismay- Weiss had hoped her father would accept her victory for what It was without having to end a innocent mans life- again.

Weiss felt her sword clink and crack the marble below her and removed her blade just to watch his head roll off and fill the cracks with blood. She looked up and was met with a simple nod, but not a lessoned glare. Weiss scoffed to herself as she looked away from him and the scene before her, instead looking towards the distant metal door which finally opened, allowing her free from her trial.

Weiss walked into the simple black hallway and raised her sword, holding it halfway down its blade. She dropped it into the short, dainty brown haired servant's hands. The women squeaked in shock at the weight and was almost taken off her feet- no doubt due in part to the high heels she wore. Weiss didn't spare her a passing glance, marching down the hallway as she undid the shackles that kept her shoulder plates attached.

Entering the bright white room at the end of the hall, she walked around the wooden bench towards the lockers and scoffed at the colouration of the room. It was like her father wanted to give the maids more trouble. Weiss did her best to keep blood off of the floor and walls as she stripped herself of her armour and placed it in the locker for the maids to later reorganize and put on a stand. Weiss was left wearing a cloth shirt and pants that served primarily to keep her skin safe from the metal of her armour and protect her flesh from the freezing bite of the Atlas kingdom.

Despite the fact her father wanted no one to see Weiss dressed down like this- he still had a downright ludicrous amount of detail put into the cloathing. Bright white Dust was woven into the dark blue fabric and was used to create beautiful patterns of frost dragon scales. Metal buckles were present on the sides of her hips, her ankles, her lower thigh, and her shoulders- and every one of these buckles was hidden from view by soft white animal fur taken from Athlesian Greatwolves; the national animal of the kingdom.

Weiss put on a cape that was an identical blue and similarly covered in dust. The shoulders and ends were made of the same fur and in her opinion? It seemed completely unnecessary. She was being trained in knighthood, not to be a mage, and only the most talented of Archmages would want to give up the mobility for additional dust to fuel their magic. Weiss knew that this rare, extremely valuable material that was required for many peoples livlihood was used in her cloathing exclusively because of her blood and it gave her a feeling that was hard to pin down.

Weiss's mind went blank as she walked through the halls of silver and gold, as her high heeled feet walked along the red carpet and gold trims. She was brought out of her automatic, zombie like state for seemingly no reason. She didn't move her head or turn her eyes, she simply opened her ears and started paying attention. The light coming in through the multi coloured acrylic glass was bright and even- no shadows visible from outside the raised windows. Not a sound filled her ears, even as she approached the end of the hallway.

Weiss opened the door and stepped outside. Heavy snow instantly assaulted her as harsh winds ensured she couldent see more then a foot infront of her. She walked forward until she saw a familiar door, opening it and entering the tower that she called home. She always thought the fact she was forced to live in the north most part of the castle, in a tower disconnected from the rest of the castle was her father trying to send her a message about her worth or place in the world. But the princess didn't have time to ponder these philosophical questions. Even as she walked up the familiar steps, she kept her ears and eyes peeled.

She was sure she was being followed. She made no signs she was onto it but she was certain she was being followed. Knowing how to combat assassins was as second nature to her as holding a sword or knowing which fork to use with the turkey. When she finally reached the top and entered the room, she unbuckled her cape and placed it on a hook on the wall. Weiss approached her large glass window and opened it with a single motion, putting both hands on the windowsill and leaning out.

Weiss looked down and didn't see anyone clinging to the formerly red- now white snow stained bricks. Weiss turned around, using her arms to support her as she looked up at the red pointed rooftop. Her eyes met with a women wearing a black skintight body suit and a red hooded cape with black animal fur on the ends and around the hood. Her face was almost completely concealed by a black facemask that covered all but her forehead and her silver eyes, a colour that as far as Weiss knew was not possible to be natural.

"Wait-" Ruby called as Weiss quickly pulled herself back into her room. Ruby slid down the roof and landed her black boots on the windowsill. Turning around she grabbed the top of the windowsill with her black gloved hands and threw herself inside. Weiss waved her arm infront of her and a wall of ice sealed the window, mere nanoseconds after Ruby had entered the room and before her feet could even hit the ground.

Weiss lunged at her with a speed Ruby did not expect of a princess. A curved knife with the designs of the crescent moon and with rubys and emeralds in place of the craters was pulled out of the waist of the white haired ponytailed girl and was forced against her throat as the women slammed her against the ice wall behind her. Daggers of frost were glared into her eyes that were far sharper then the blade, Ruby was about to die if she didn't do something.

Thankfully Ruby was as trained on breaking a hold as Weiss was at getting someone into one. Ruby used her smaller stature to her advantage; she dropped her legs and fell a marginal amount. Turning around to face away from Weiss, she gripped the taller girls wrist and twirled to the side. Going from infront of Weiss to behind her in an instant, Ruby now held the weapon wielding arm behind the girls back, twisted unnaturally in what was just barely off dislocation.

Ruby took a kunai out from under her throat and put it to Weiss's throat in an attempt to keep her from struggling, but she didn't even get her hand into the position before she jerked her head to the side and sunk her teeth into Ruby's fingers. Well the glove kept her from drawing blood, Ruby was nonetheless caught off-guard and yelped in pain. Ruby jumped back several feet in a single leap, letting Weiss go and landing on top of Weiss's luxury, queen sized bed.

Ruby took a second to adjust her footing on the soft surface and couldn't help but smile to herself. Biting was such an undignified and unexpected maneuver, and someone who was so eager to perform the crude if it gave her an advantage was the exact kind of person she wanted; no, needed. "Wait!" Ruby shouted, throwing her Kunai to the side. The black blade with flower patterns carved into it stabbed into the pale white wall due to the force of the swing. Ruby had many more blades on her, but she hoped the visual of disarming herself would help calm the girl. Reaching up, she grabbed her face mask and pulled it down- revealing soft red lipstick and more importantly her identity; the princess of Vale. "I need your help."

Authors note:

Hello, i haven't posted a story in a couple years and i wanted to apologize for that. Well i have no obligation to make storys i still feel bad for people who got excited over my various RWBY storys and perhaps got disappointed they never continued. I knew that i was better off making one off storys as i struggled to motivate myself to continue them and i still couldent help myself from making several long term projects. I felt it would me immoral to not inform new viewers and old of this when i post a new one. To try to prove i want to improve i am releasing this story with two chapters at once, although i am sorry that this first chapter is on the short side. I fully intend to finish my past stories and i still remember everything i had planned for them, and i will revisit them and slowly flesh these out overtime. I hope that the people who follow me and check out this story accept my apology, and i hope that new people here enjoy what i have to offer and can sit comfortably knowing i fully intend to finish this, and every one so far. Thank you everyone who reads, follows, and reviews. Your mere presence means so, so much to me.
