It was another few hours of tense waiting before Celebi arrived, ready to teleport us both. I vaguely remember her warning me about getting reckless out in whatever was about to happen, and my reply of straight up silence. Yeah, she didn't like that at all but we had a job to do...
The salty air of the beach instantly attacked my nostrils, as my senses came alive upon hearing shouting coming from inside the Islands interior. Both Celebi and I gave each other a look before venturing in, in search of Cresselia...
We found her in the midst of what seemed like a warzone, with team Galactic trying to flank her from every side. And leading it all was an admin I vaguely remembered seeing a lifetime ago on Mt Coronet...
As Celebi rushed to aide Cresselia I confronted their leader and goaded him into a full on battle.
Admin Saturn had an aura of power surrounding him that I had only felt from a few gym leaders and old rivals, a troubling sign if his boss's was anything like him, but my resolve remained absolute. I instigated the battle by sending out Rotom, while he released a battered looking Drapion.
The battle was quick and fierce, but it was clear that Rotom was simply outclassed and the plasma pokemon soon fell to a well timed megahorn.
Slightly shocked at how easily my first choice was beaten I instinctively fell back on type advantage, and sent out my first ever capture Chatot.
This battle luckily fell in my favour with Chatot landing a critical hit brave bird onto Drapion, ending the match. The Admin seemed unfazed, and merely recalled Drapion before sending out a worn out looking Bronzong.
Chatot fell, quickly followed by Eevee and yet Bronzong still stood, heavily damaged but still fighting...
Meditite finally was able to put down that damned beast, but Saturn once again looked indifferent, if a bit amused. With a click of a pokeball our next opponent, a broken looking salamence, was unleashed. With fury it ripped through Meditite, but then Floatzel managed to turn the tide with Ice Fang but he was tired from fighting such a beast. Saturn still had half of his team left to his disposal while I had two, one of which was already injured...
His next pokemon was a tired looking Rampardos, which resulted in an interesting fight.
Since Rampardos was far physically stronger Floatzel had to duck and weave, and get small yet efficient hits in when it could which eventually resulted in a double knockout.
I wasn't afraid back then, for some idiotic reason. I guess I didn't think about the consequences as I sent out my last Pokemon, Grotle to fight against his fifth Pokemon, Magmorter.
I relied on rock throw and stone edge while he simply blasted through everything with flamethrower and heat crash. I... Grotle was in so much pain and the admin was purposely drawing the battle out in order to prolong his suffering, and both he and I knew it. Just as he was about to finally end Grotle a stray shadow ball from Celebi hit Magmorter dead on, instantly knocking out the blast pokemon.
In a bit of a panic Saturn ordered his group to make a full retreat, in order to regroup and plan a counterattack, no doubt.
While they fled into the jungle a battered looking Celebi and a barely breathing Cresselia made themselves known to me.
Short story made even shorter, Celebi entrusted me with taking care of her fellow legend before giving chase to the fleeing Galactic grunt's.
As I looked around the beach I couldn't help but feel tired, just so damn tired. nothing more, nothing less. I remember dwelling on Grotle... if Celebi hadn't intervened I'd have surely lost that battle. Side note; due to that battle my mind subconsciously decided to ramp up the entire teams training from that day on.
Anyways!
Sadly I knew that I couldn't dwell on those thoughts. Instead I did my best to carry Cresselia towards whatever little shelter I found, eventually resulting in us holding out in a small cave.
What few medical supplies I did have immediately went to Cresselia since she was the most injured by a large margin, with the scraps going towards Chatot in hopes that she could regain her strength and go out foraging for food, which she ended up doing a few hours later. But for the most part, both my team and Cresselia had to heal on their own while I did my best to either help or make them comfortable.
It was... a rough night but I never left the Pokémon's side, even if their whimpers made it so I wouldn't be able to get sleep. I just couldn't bring myself to leave them alone.
As the morning's sun poured into our small shelter Cresselia was finally able to move about, but that's not to say any of us were ready for battle. Folks energy was still depleted so we decided to stay put, rest, and wait for Celebi to return.
As the hours ticked on by I kept started becoming more and more anxious. It shouldn't have taken Celebi that long to deal with a few humans...
I was able to distract myself from my worries by getting to know Cresselia a bit more. She mostly spoke to me about dreams and, just like Azelf, questioned me about why celebi had me as her guardian...
It felt good to tell someone the truth. She seemed shocked, or at least as shocked as any legendary could be. Through her telepathy she began asking alot of questions about the old world and what things were like.
She loved my tales about the league conferences, and how gym leaders were meant to teach others rather then keep them down. She was fascinated with the concept of multiple identical legendary's, and she was pissed upon hearing about why such a world came to an end.
If she didn't like Team Galactic for messing with her Island, at that point she was infuriated with them. It didn't help that Celebi finally contacted us, or, me through her pokeball. She had been captured and she needed our help and-
A piece of advice; don't get on a legendary's bad side. Oh and uhh... having people's numbers is very helpful.
Within a few minutes Cresselia had teleported both me and a very confused team into some sort of research facility, full of team Galactic. They could do nothing but run away I'm horror as Cresselia unleashed her wrath upon them while Meditite and I tracked down and freed our other legendary friend.
Upon release she collapsed into my arms and, seeing that she was in no position to battle, I returned her...
A laugh echoed throughout the small room she had been kept in.
Admin Saturn. Both of us... alone.
I could hear Cresselia fighting on her own, elsewhere in the facility and, knowing I couldn't win I did the only thing I could.
I stalled.
Meditite was out first, this time against Rampardos. Said battle went differently then I'd had expected. Since both pokemon were tired Meditite managed to squeeze out a tie by using a move I didn't think he could even learn, perish song...
Rotom was against Bronzong, whom quickly dealt with him while Eevee came out and barely managed to gain revenge for our prankster of a teammate. Returning Eevee, I used a mixture of ancient power and iron defense to keep Grotle going as long as I could against his Salamence, wasting precious time that could've been spent defeating me. Chatot managed to defeat Salamence, (don't ask) but was quickly knocked out by Drapion.
Eevee was sent out and achieved the impossible, in knocking out Drapion, even if she herself fainted as well...
Once again, I only had one pokemon while he had two. At the I didn't know that I just needed to buy a little bit more time...
It was Magmorter against Floatzel, and... it was wild. Even with our type advantage Magmorter was able to meet our water attacks head on with his flamethrower or fire blast, resulting in a long stalemate. It became a battle of endurance. Exactly what I needed.
As the two finally came to a climax, with Floatzel exerting all of its reserves into one last hydro pump while Magmorter used overheat, I remember hearing the buzz of a helicopter. Saturn heard it as well, but didn't seem to care. He was more engrossed into our battle and... so was I.
When the dust finally settled it was clear that Floatzel had won. We had beat his fifth Pokemon! Fifth... with a smirk he 'congratulated' me before reaching for his final pokemon, but just as was about to send it out a certain Espeon held him in place with psychic.
Yes, I called Annabel. I... looking back on it, I'm proud of myself because I realized that I wouldn't be able to win on my own. Could I have been... maturing?
Nah. That'd take a while more.
Anyways, after having group of her agent it's arrest the small regiment of team Galactic grunt's, along with the admin, miss Annabel spoke with me for awhile about the international police force. Given all that I had done in so little time she wanted me to join them but I refused of course. Told her I wanted to still experience my journey for a bit longer. She understood of course and after spending a few more hours treating the wounded pokemon and just talking I can honestly say that... we were friends. Or, at the very least good acquaintances. But friends sounds nicer so...
I'ma go with that option.
Eventually, the international police left Fullmoon Island since, after a quick raid through the facility, they concluded that this was more of a temporary base and held no real value to them or team galactic. That left Celebi, Cresselia, and myself to both rest up and celebrate our success! But, as the saying goes, all good things must come to an end and that end came only one week later, when both Celebi and I had to leave the Island. Cresselia... after speaking with Celebi the dispeler of nightmares hovered above me and stared intently into my eyes.
Whatever she was looking for within me she seemed to find, since after giving an approving cry Cresselia tapped one of my empty capsules, willingly capturing itself.
The ball itself, much like Celebi's, took on another form. It seemed to be built out of amethyst, with the Galaxy reflecting from it's surface and, just like Celebi, I could've sworn I saw eyes staring back at me...
So... yeah. Since Cresselia didn't have many responsibilities she was able to fully join me on my journey! For the time being I sent Chatot back to the PC...
