Sailor Miao felt herself return to the misty hall of the time-space chamber. Now she was facing a small pink mirror, with feathers etched in silver decorated the frame.
"This reminds me of Chibi-Usagi and Pegasus," she said, running her finger over one of the feathers. As if activating a hidden room, she heard a slight click, then the heavy rustling of Pegasus' wings. A heavy breeze pushed against her back, causing her to fall into the mirror.
Sailor Miao lifted herself to her knees, and as the mist around her cleared, she got a clear view of the world she had entered.
In front of her stood Elysium, the temple and home of the guardian Helios. The temple, made of pure porcelain and marble, stood eerily silent in the bright, shining sunlight of midday. The Maenads, priestesses of the holy temple and fellow keepers of the golden crystal, were nowhere to be seen.
"Pegasus..." Sailor Miao whispered, suddenly feeling very exposed and fragile. She clutched her hands to her chest as she walked into the temple of light, hoping this mirror would show her something pleasant, justifying her plan to bring her Sailor Pluto back to life.
She was sorely rewarded for her prayers. As she looked at the walls reverberating with sunlight, splashes of blood and bits and pieces of pink fabric came into view.
Her first thought was of Chibi-Usa, and Sailor Miao suddenly found herself running without any sense of fear of the danger she herself was in.
Reaching the center of the chamber, horror gripped her like never before. There, lying lifeless in a red cage, was Pegasus. His beautiful white fur was soaked with blood; his magical horn (thought to house the gold crystal) was ripped from his forehead. The Maenads lay prone in front of the cage, their hands reaching out, expressing their last unheeded plea to save him. Their bodies were ripped to shreds, sliced by the razor-sharp red ribbons which clung to their skin.
"No, no, no!" Sailor Miao screamed, covering her eyes and curling into a ball, "How much more of these horrors exist? Is there truly no way to bring Setsuna back without the destruction of the world, of the death of so many?"
A gentle breeze ruffled the edges of her skirt and Sailor Miao found herself facing yet another mirror in the Space-Time corridor. Afraid to look up, yet compelled to do so, Sailor Miao looked into the looking-glass, which stood at about her normal height.
