The mirror before her was an enchanting blush blue, covered in etched roses and flowing ribbons from top to bottom. At the very top of the mirror sat a near replica of Usagi's Cosmic Heart Compact. Next to the compact, on both the right and left sides, were the glowing planetary symbols of each sailor scout.

Sailor Miao stood up, slightly renewed at the sight of her forebearers trademarks. She took a deep breath, let it out and stepped into the mirror.

Screams and cries echoed from all directions on the streets of modern-day Tokyo. The buildings, always a tall and inspiring sight to Diana, now stood smashed, smoking or in piles of rubble. Footsteps came faster than she could react, and Sailor Miao found herself sprawled onto the broken and cracked earth (what was once the paved and smooth sidewalks and streets of the Crossroads).

The young girl, bearing a crown of red curls upon her head and wearing a Crossroads middle school uniform, paused in her flight and called out to Sailor Miao.

"Don't go that way! Everything past the Crossroads is destroyed! Four crazy girls are trying to fight something off, but I don't think they are doing very well!"

The girl looked like she wanted to say more, but she was pulled away by a boy with swirly glasses and a handsome man with blond hair. Sailor Miao watched them retreat in horror.

A small explosion several yards away shot brightly through the heavy smoke and cloudy sky, before disappearing from view. Sailor Miao felt the space-time rod vibrate and then felt an intense desire to run after the retreating beam of light.

Following her compulsion, Sailor Miao found herself standing in front of Crossroads Middle School, the iconic setting in which the young and ditzy Usagi Tsukino found both friendship and power in her youth.

Standing in front of the school, fingers curled with rage and dark tendrils of power, was the terrifyingly beautiful transformation of her best friend, Chibi-Usa. All vestiges of childhood removed, Chibi-Usa had certainly transformed into a lady. But this lady was radiating nothing but hatred, pain and fear; she lacked all of the dignity and inner beauty of the future Princess Small Lady.

Wicked Lady, Sailor Miao recalled the name she had heard her mother say, this was when Wise Man tricked Chibi-Usagi!

Tendrils of Wise Man's magic shot from her fingers, searing the flesh of Sailor Jupiter who stood several feet away. Sailor Jupiter yowled in pain, rubbing her scorched arm, before thrusting a lightening bolt straight at Wicked Lady.

Wicked Lady laughed as she easily captured the bolt in her hands.

"Weak! All of you are so weak!"

Sailor Mercury grabbed Sailor Jupiter, pushing her out of the way before the lightening bolt hit. With a cry and a sizzle, Sailor Mercury lay lifeless on the ground.

"Ami!" Sailor Miao screamed, rushing to her side. She was joined by Sailor Venus and Sailor Mars, who both shed tears over their lost friend.

"I will kill you!" Mars screamed, her eyes deep violet as she pulled out a flaming bow, "Grant me strength, Phobos and Deimos!"

The two crows appeared overhead and fused into a single flame arrow. Radiating with a heat that would have burned any normal girl, the arrow was easily grabbed by Rei and strung across her bow.

"Feel the wrath and burn! MARS ARROW!!!!!"

Momentarily blinded by the light of the arrow, Sailor Miao stepped backwards. She tripped,expecting to fall into the kneeling form of Sailor Venus. Instead, she saw her hands shimmer as she fell to the ground below her.

Sailor Venus, furious but collected, moved to the side of her best friend. She had not seen, nor felt nor heard Sailor Miao, she who only existed as a shadow in this world. They waited, eyes upward, for the smoke and flame to clear.

Like a siren revealing her true form, Wicked Lady shot out of the sky with screeching lips and bulging eyes. Mars' attack had done nothing but scorch her outfit, enraging the woman until she lost all remaining sense of sanity.

"Stop, Chibi-USA!" Shouted Sailor Venus, readying her Venus Love Me Chain, "there is still time to stop this! You also bear the silver crystal within you! You can still stop Wise Man, even without Usagi!"

"Ma...ma.." Wicked Lady slowed in her descent, her eyes tearing up as she spoke, "Mama is dead."

What? Sailor Miao thought, her heart suddenly ice cold. Sailor Moon, Neo-Queen Serenity was dead?

"Wise man may have stolen her silver crystal, but you are her daughter! You can fight in her place! Embrace the power of the moon and accept the Queen's forgiveness!"

Sailor Venus released her grip on the chain and closed her eyes. In mere seconds, she was transformed into middle schooler Minako Aino. Her arms outstretched, she warmly smiled at the lost princess.

"MAMMA IS DEAD!" Wicked Lady screamed, tears pouring from her eyes as she launched herself at the fragile Minako Aino, "And I am glad!"

"Mina!" Rei screamed as rubble and blood shot into the air.

"No!" Makoto shouted, rushing to the sight of the attack.

"Wake up, Wake up, Wake up!" Rei mumbled, shaking her breathless friend who lay crumpled in a heap, "I can't lose you!"

Wicked Lady was chuckling several feet above them, her hands dripping with blood.

"I will rule along with Wise Man. No one will EVER tell me what to do, or mention that wicked name Serenity ever again!"

"You selfish spoiled brat!"

Wicked Lady's eyes narrowed at the voice which dared to insult her.

"What was that, Makoto?"

"I said, you are a selfish, spoiled brat! I always told Usagi she was much too easy on you, letting you get away with foolish antics around the castle, boo-hooing and pitter-pattering off to King Endymion like a puppy, and running off to Setsuna for attention!"

Rage filled Wicked Lady's eyes and in an instant Makoto was nothing but a sizzling pile of dust. Rei screamed in rage and further agony as the last of her sisters was killed.

"Stop!" Sailor Miao screamed, raising her space-time rod amid her flowing tears, "I've got to make this stop!"

But she was not heard and she could not stop what was next to come.

"Finish me!" Rei begged, clutching the lifeless Minako, "This pain is too much to bear."

A genuine smile lit up Wicked Lady's face.

"Someone finally understands. The burden of being a princess, of being her daughter, embodies the same pain you are feeling."

"Shut up and just do it!" Rei wailed, her violet eyes piercing into Wicked Lady's red orbs.

"As you wish, princess."

Sailor Miao screamed as she smelt the familiar ash and burnt smell of flesh turned to dust and bone.

"Time-stop, time-stop, TIME-STOP!!!!" Sailor Miao shouted, begging the words to work. She found herself lifting into the air with the garnet rod. Flooding with power, Sailor Miao imagined the moment she wanted most to return to in time.

In a flash of bright light, Sailor Miao lost consciousness.
