Chapter One: Meeting A Munk

"Give it back already!" Alexis shouts as a couple of boys are holding her necklace out of reach.

"Haha. Want it? You're gonna jump for it!" The boy shouts as he laughs.

"I am not jumping for my necklace. Now please give it back!" Alexis says sternly.

"Not gonna happen." The other boy says.

"Give it back at once!" Alexis says angrily.

"Ooh. You want it so badly? Why don't you go fetch for it?" The boy asks as he throws Alexis's necklace onto a branch in a tree just out of her reach as she goes over to the tree.

"I'll never reach it up there. Oh. That was my mom's. I can't believe this. First day of school and I already lost something precious to me. All because I didn't want to fight. Now what am I gonna tell mom?" Alexis asks sadly before she begins to leave.

*Timeskip*

Later as Alexis is walking home she soon stops hearing someone coming and sees a chipmunk boy in red come running.

"Hey! Wait up!" The boy shouts as he comes over and stops while panting.

"Who are you and what do you want?" Alexis asks.

"Oh. I don't want anything from you." The boy says kindly.

"Then why did you follow me?" Alexis asks.

"Well I saw what Jake and his buddy were doing to you." The boy says as Alexis gives am embarrassed look.

"Oh. Heh. You saw that?" Alexis asks.

"Yeah." The boy says.

"I know. I shouldn't be letting them bully me. I'm just not much for violence. I try not to be unless I'm left with no other choice. I guess that makes me kinda weak. Hmm?" Alexis asks.

"You're not weak. The opposite actually. I think it's better to choice not to fight when you can. In fact I think it makes a person strong that they show restraint. Though I understand with bullies you can't always talk to them and expect good results. My brothers and I know that pretty well." The boy says as he smiles.

"Yeah." Alexis says as she chuckles slightly.

"My name is Alvin Seville. You're the new girl right?" The boy asks.

"Yes. Alexis Hathaway. It's nice to meet you Alvin. I only wish I could of gotten my necklace back though." Alexis says as she sighs.

"Oh. You mean this necklace?" Alvin asks as he reveals Alexis's necklace.

"You got it?" Alexis asks as Alvin gives her the necklace.

"Well I am a chipmunk. Climbing is one of our specialties." Alvin says proudly.

"Thank you Alvin. This means a lot." Alexis says as she smiles.

"You're welcome. I have to go but maybe we can hang out sometime." Alvin says kindly.

"I would like that." Alexis says happily.
