day three already? I hope you enjoy this story, let me know what you think!
-Snowball Fight-
The cold winter wind blew through the arctic. The snow blowing around the five Guardians made them look almost eartheal. They had needed to have a meeting, and they were all making their way to North's workshop, but they had gotten locked out. Now they were debating what to do.
"Remind me," Bunny snapped at North, "Why were you outside in the first place?"
"One of the elves told me that I was needed outside—Tchaikovsky!" North broke off with a shout, "Those sneaky elves, they planned this."
'North,' Sandy signed with his sand, 'why don't you have a key?'
"That is very good question, Sandy." North agreed with the golden guardian.
Jack wasn't paying much attention to the other four as they tried to figure out how to get back into the workshop, it wasn't like he was having any issues with the cold. He was floating about 10 feet above the others, reveling in the snow falling around him.
"Snowball fight!" Jack yelled all of a sudden, throwing a snowball he made in his hand down at the other four.
The snowball hit Bunny right in the center of his face. He was knocked back slightly from the impact.
"What was that for, ya bloody show pony!" Bunny yelled, glaring at Jack while he shook his head to remove the snow. Bunny did not do well in the cold, so he wasn't going to let snow sit on his face longer than necessary.
Beside Bunny, North and Sandy were laughing, though Tooth had covered her mouth in shock.
Jack just smiled his mischievous grin and flipped upside down in the air even as he came closer to the ground.
"Catch me if you can, Bunny." He taunted.
Bunny's eyes narrowed, and he bent down to scoop up a snowball of his own. The snow flew through the air and crashed into Jack's chest before he could move. Jack was knocked into the snow, face first. Now it was Bunny's turn to laugh.
By now North had been laughing so hard, he was using his swords to not fall over. "Jack," he said, still laughing, "I don't think you know what you have got into." Letting go of his swords, North let himself fall into the snow.
Jack rolled over in the snow, in time to see North chuck a snowball at him. He waved his staff in between him and North, making a barrier. "That was close." Jack muttered to himself.
"You may have stopped North, but you didn't stop us!" Bunny spoke from behind Jack.
Turning around, Jack saw Bunny and a few of the mini tooth fairies all with snowballs aimed at him. Waving his staff once more, Jack cocooned himself in a snow drift. He wasn't fast enough, though, and Bunny's snowball got in.
Inside his cocoon, Jack couldn't hear the other four outside. He smiled to himself, he would need to get Sandy, North, and Tooth when he got rid of his safe cocoon of snow. He could see light through the thick layer of snow, and the shadows of his friends that were moving around the snow.
Jack's hands quickly dug through the snow to make a tunnel underneath the snow and get out of his cocoon without his friends knowing. He dug about 10 feet away from the cocoon, his magic helping him along quickly. Jack popped his head through the snow to see Bunny pouring egg dye onto a snowball, while North had gotten a yeti to help make larger snowballs, presumably to throw at him.
Gathering a handful of snow, Jack formed a snowball and aimed.
And threw.
"Oof!" North exclaimed as he was hit into the snow.
Jack couldn't hold in his laughter, and burst out into giggles, drawing the attention of the other Guardians.
"Jack." Tooth said appeasingly, "Can we stop with the snowballs, please?"
Before Jack could answer her, the yeti and Bunny threw their snowballs at him. Bunny's hit him first, covering him in a mix of snow and dye. The yeti's snowball hit next, knocking him over into the tunnel he had dug.
Tooth sighed. "I give up," she muttered as she turned to fly out of the war zone. She didn't get far, though, before she got hit with snow too. She turned around to see Sandy behind her with a large grin on his face.
"Sandy," she gasped, "How could you?"
Sandy shrugged and collected more snow to throw. The rest of the Guardians soon joined Sandy and the snow was flying everywhere.
No one was caring when they got hit, it was a free-for-all, and they were all having fun. At first they had been using their powers to make their snowballs better, but after a little bit they were just having a good old-fashioned snowball fight.
They had to stop when Tooth's wings were starting to ice over.
"Sorry guys," she said, "I think we need to finish this war another day."
North looked up from where he was stock-piling snowballs into the sky, "It will be dark soon, too." he observed, "I think elves may let us back into workshop now."
"Finally," muttered Bunny as they all walked over to the door of the workshop. He shook out his fur once again, but still shivered from the cold air.
North grabbed the handle and turned it.
It opened.
Out came an elf on a toy rocket, trailing sparks behind it.
North sighed and ushered the Guardians inside. "I'll ask yeti to make hot chocolate." he said, "I need to check one thing for Christmas, but I will meet you in meeting room."
The other four walked together towards their meeting room —which was really just a sitting room North had dubbed their meeting room— on the top floor.
By the time the group got to the sitting room, a yeti had already brought them hot chocolate.
Before they could enjoy it, though, Jack threw a snowball at Bunny once again.
And once again he hit Bunny in the face.
That was how North found them five minutes later, Bunny chasing Jack while Tooth watched in concern, and Sandy sipped his hot chocolate.
