Persephone hated spring.

But she loved bringing her mother joy, and so she returned to walk the earth together every year. After all, Demeter was as pitiful as every Olympian. Immortal but only willful, never emotional.

As every year they watched the farmers tilling the fields, thanking Persephone for her return. The mortals, passionate but ever dying, they understood. Persephone's return to the overworld was a gift.

Persephone hated spring.

She knew love more eternal than eternity and more passionate than passion itself. For she was the only one blessed with love beyond death.

And so, Persephone longed for autumn.
