(A/N: Okay, I had tried to write this story some years back, but stomach troubles and lack of inspiration held me back. This time, it's gonna get done! I'm rewriting "D.O.O.M. Christmas", and here it is!)

It was the first weekend in December in the city of Petropolis. The snow was falling, so the children were all having fun playing in the snow. All the good citizens were busy decorating, shopping, and baking, preparing for the happiest time of the year. Well, the only ones who weren't looking forward to Christmas were the bad guys, except the Chameleon still tried to celebrate the season, even though he went about it the wrong way by poisoning his festive drinks.

However, there were several villains who had reformed that year. The villains in question were Dr. Rabies and Madame Catastrophe, as well as the members of the Diabolical Order Of Mayhem, better known as D.O.O.M., if you're of a shortening mind.

These villains had reformed for a very special reason: they were parents now (see "Family Starters" for details), and they knew if they continued their lives of crime, they'd be spending much of their time behind bars, unable to watch their kids grow up. They didn't want their kids to grow up not knowing them.

Because the villainous parents loved their new babies much, they had given up their evil ways. They had turned over a new leaf by reforming, and that's the way things were going to be from now on. And now that it was close to Christmas, they were seriously thinking about trying to celebrate the season for the first time. It was worth a chance, if Santa knew that they really had changed, for the better.

Dr. Rabies and Madame Catastrophe had some idea of what to do to celebrate the holiday because they went to the Chameleon for advice, but Snaptrap, who came from a family of villains, did not really know much of what to do. He had little to no idea of how to celebrate Christmas that one year when he, Birdbrain, and the Chameleon tried to ruin the holiday for everyone. And he really didn't feel like seeing the Chameleon because he thought the Chameleon was a loser.

"Boss, you seem to be distracted. Is something wrong?" Ollie asked, noticing that Snaptrap seemed to be lost in thought.

"Yeah, Ollie. Something is wrong. As you know, Christmas is this month." Snaptrap said.

"I've noticed." Ollie said.

"Good. Well, I'm thinking about celebrating it, but I really don't know how it's done. I tried to ruin it with Birdbrain and the Chameleon a couple years back, and you know what happened? We failed to do so, thanks to Agents Puppy and Katswell. I don't really know much about how to celebrate the season at all." Snaptrap said.

"Wait, you actually want to celebrate Christmas this year?" asked Francisco.

"Yes, I do. Is there something wrong with that?" Snaptrap asked.

Ollie and Francisco looked at each other. Back when they were children, before they became villains, they had been able to celebrate Christmas, and they loved it.

But when they became members of D.O.O.M. and found out that Snaptrap didn't know what Christmas was, they had no alternative but to stop celebrating it. They didn't want to, but they had a feeling Snaptrap may not like the idea.

Then, just last year, they found out that he had learned some about Christmas by trying to ruin it. When they learned that he knew something about it, they thought that maybe he wouldn't mind trying to celebrate it. Except for one small problem...

(Flashback...)

It was a cold night during mid-December in the city of Petropolis. The citizens all felt joyful, mainly because Christmas was coming, and so was Santa Claus. But at the Diaobical Order Of Mayhem, things were not so grand.

"Boss, I was thinking: how about we decorate this place for Christmas?" Ollie asked as he looked around the main room. The place was not decorated, and he wanted to see some decorations. It would help him feel a little holiday cheer.

"Bah, humbug!" Snaptrap said, pouting like a little kid.

"Why can't we decorate, Boss?" asked Francisco.

"What's the point of doing so? Santa Claus doesn't visit bad guys. He doesn't even leave them any coal. You know that! Every villain knows that! If Santa is not going to leave us anything, we have no good reason to celebrate Christmas, do we?" Snaptrap said.

"Not so. Just because we won't get a visit from Santa doesn't mean we can't still celebrate the season in some small way." Ollie said.

"The way I see it, there's no point in celebrating the holiday when we're not getting anything from Santa." Snaptrap said.

"So we won't get gifts from Santa. So what? We can always get gifts for each other. You know, a 'Secret Santa' kind of thing. My 3rd grade class did that, and it was actually a whole lot of fun for all of us." Francisco said.

Ollie liked this idea, too, but he frowned when Snaptrap shot down that idea with a very loud, "NO! WE'RE NOT GOING TO DO IT, SO I SUGGEST YOU FORGET ABOUT IT!"

At that moment, Larry showed up, lugging a big Christmas tree into the place. He heard Snaptrap yelling, and he was not amused.

Ollie and Francisco smelled the tree before they saw it. The fresh scent of pine made them look, and they were delighted at the sight of the tree.

"What aren't we doing?" Larry asked.

"Larry, what are you doing with that tree? We're not celebrating Christmas! Get that thing out of here!" Snaptrap said, still mad at Ollie and Francisco and getting mad at Larry.

"What? I thought that since you know what Christmas is now, maybe we could celebrate it. And I got started by picking out a Christmas tree." Larry said.

"We're not going to do it. There's no reason to celebrate Christmas when we're not getting anything from Santa." Snaptrap grumped.

"Maybe you won't get anything, but unlike you, I want to see Santa, like I used to do when I was a kid. So I'm going to celebrate Christmas by setting up this tree." said Larry.

"There's just one problem with your idea, Larry: I won't let you do it." Snaptrap told him.

"Snaptrap, see this Christmas tree? It's a real tree, and I paid good money for it. I'm setting it up whether you like it or not. And if you don't shut up, you're going to be the angel on top." Larry replied, feeling bold.

"Is that a threat?" Snaptrap asked, turning his anger and rage on Larry.

"As a matter of fact, it is." Larry replied.

"You know what? Maybe we will do the 'Secret Santa' thing that Francisco suggested before you got here." Snaptrap said.

"Yaaaaaaay!" Francisco and Ollie cheered.

"Oh, cool!" Larry said, smiling.

"And to show how good a sport I am, Larry, I'm going to be your Secret Santa!" Snaptrap added.

"Uhh, Boss, that's now how the 'Secret Santa' is done..." Francisco began.

"He's right. You're supposed to draw a name from a hat, and whoever's name you picked is the one you get to be Secret Santa to. And you can't tell anyone whose name you drew. That's why it's a secret!" Larry said.

"You can ask the person what they might like for Christmas, but you can't let them know that they're the one you're shopping for." Ollie said.

"I don't care. I'm going to do this my way. I'm your Secret Santa, Larry, and you're getting your present from me right now, a trip to the shark tank!" Snaptrap replied. He pushed a button that caused the shark tank to open under Larry's feet. Larry and the tree fell into the water and started getting attacked by sharks.

"BAH, HUMBUG!" Larry shouted as he realized that he and the poor Christmas tree were suffering.

"And a Merry Christmas to you, too!" Snaptrap said.

(End flashback...)

"Last year was no fun for any of us." said Ollie.

"Which is why we didn't stay here for that holiday season. We went back to our own families last year because I refused to spend Christmas with Ebenezer Snaptrap." said Francisco.

Ollie and Francisco chuckled to themselves at the sound of 'Ebenezer Snaptrap'. It sounded kind of funny when they thought about it.

"So, does anyone know why we're going to celebrate Christmas this year?" Snaptrap asked.

Before Ollie or Francisco could tell him what they thought the reason was, a voice from upstairs said, "I think I know the reason why."

"And what reason is that, Larry?" Snaptrap asked the shrew that was his much-hated brother-in-law. (A/N: It was never once mentioned in the show, but during an interview about the show, Butch Hartman himself confirmed that Larry is Snaptrap's brother-in-law.)

"Oh, gee, I don't know. Maybe because we have kids now, and we reformed for them." said Larry, coming down from the nursery with his son, Murray, in his arms.

"That's right. We have kids, and they're not going to be villains because we gave up villainy just for them, and perhaps Santa will bring them presents." Snaptrap said.

"So, are we going to do it? Are we really going to celebrate Christmas this year, Boss?" Ollie asked hopefully.

"Yes, Ollie, we are! We're going to do this for the kids! It's going to be their first Christmas, and it's also going to be my first real one as well!" Snaptrap said.

"YAAAAAAAAY!" Snaptrap and his henchmen cheered.

"Verminious! What are you and your friends celebrating out there?!" asked Snaptrap's mom in a loud, angry voice.

That cut their celebration short, and it scared them all pretty bad. If she knew what they wanted to do, she'd put a stop to their fun before they could sing "I Heard The Bells On Christmas Day"!

"Uhhh... we're celebrating... the fact that... a... big football game... is on tonight... and I've got a... pretty good feeling... about the match-up." Snaptrap lied, sounding nervous. He hoped his mom would buy that awful lie because there's no way he could tell her the truth. Since the Snaptraps were all villains, his mom would never be able to understand, especially since he'd reformed, and she didn't know that.

"Oh, whatever..." said Snaptrap's mom. She didn't really care about football, but then again, she never really cared about Snaptrap at all.

"Okay, we've just encountered our first problem: we can't decorate here because of Mom. If she sees any decorations, she'll get rid of them, and then we can kiss them all good-bye, meaning the money we had to spend on them was wasted." Snaptrap said.

"There must be some way we can decorate without your mom knowing what we're up to..." a worried Francisco said.

Snaptrap thought for a moment, and then he had an idea, for a light bulb appeared over his head.

"I've got it! We'll decorate Snapdance Studios for the holiday. Mom doesn't know about that place because I never told her about it, and she hardly ever leaves here, so if we do our Christmas work there, she'll be none the wiser about our plans to celebrate the holiday." Snaptrap said.

"All right! We are going to celebrate Christmas after all! I missed celebrating the season so much!" Larry cheered.

"But first... we're going to need a lot of supplies in order to properly celebrate Christmas." Snaptrap said.

"And it'll be the first one with the kids, Boss, so it's going to be special for all of us." Francisco pointed out.

"I say let's go shopping for what we'll be needing to make this Christmas a merry one for us and the kids!" said Ollie.

"Okay, I know of the right place to go shop at. We'll go to that nearby department store to find Christmas stuff, because they usually have everything you can think of! They'll be sure to have lots of neat stuff!" Snaptrap said.

"Yay! I can't wait!" Larry said.

With that, Snaptrap and his henchmen got their kids bundled up, placed them in the D.O.O.M. Mobile, and drove to the store. They heard Christmas music on the radio as they drove, so Snaptrap made a mental note to buy Christmas CDs from the store so they could listen to more Christmas songs, and learn them in the process.

And so ends Chapter 1. What happens next? Not telling! You'll just have to stay tuned in order to find out!
