"Inteleon! Inteleon! wake up!"
"Umm, not now Flygon I'm busy enjoying some beauty sleep it's a tough job being left in charge of all of you" Inteleon replied groggily.
"Don't make me use Dragon Breath!" Flygon sounded angry she wasn't letting this go.
"Ughhh! fine, what is it?"
"We have a bit of an umm situation"
"The lab's been robbed! The lab's been robbed! oh, sweet Ho-oh! the lab's been robbed" Stantler screamed running through the habitat and getting everyone's attention.
"Wait what did he say?" Abomasnow asked.
"He said the labs been robbed!" Cubone responded by throwing her bone on the ground.
All of Goh's Pokémon gathered around a hole in the roof.
"Alright, alright, please just calm down" Inteleon failed to get anyone's attention.
"Bang!" Inteleon fired off a Snipe Shot "all right now that I've got everyone's attention what happened here? everyone clear the area I need to conduct an investigation I need a Forensic Anthropologist, an Odontologist, Botanist, Entomologist, a Handwriting annalist, and a DNA sample from everyone here " Inteleon examined the hole in the roof.
"Alright folks clearly what happened is that someone broke into the lab through the roof and stole valuable computer parts from the lab"
"Thanks, captain obvious" Aerodactyl scoffed.
"Well I think we all know what we have to do here we have to track down the culprits of this robbery we can't let Cinderace know this happened mainly because he'll never let me be in charge again"
"Greedent you've got a good nose why don't you see if you smell anything" the Greedy Pokémon stepped up and sniffed around the area.
"There were two birds and one mammal"
"Well I think we all know what we have to do we form a posy and track these air born burglars down"
The posy Inteleon managed to form consisted of himself Flygon, Absol, Aerodactyl, Stantler, Misdreavus, Abomasnow, Sandile, Raichu, Darmanitan, Frogadier, Greedent, Maushold, Spidops, and Lokix.
"Alright everyone follows the rodent" Greedent took the lead letting the others follow him.
"Is it just me or is that mountain getting closer?" Raichu asked pointing to the giant ominous cliff at the other end of the field.
"Greedent are you sure that they went this way?" Stantler asked.
"Yup they went in here now can you help me find the entrance they used"
"Found it!" Frogadier yelled pointing to a small crack in the cliffside.
"Alright, everyone stick close to the mon in front of you we don't want anyone getting lost who knows what's down here" Inteleon led the way down the path.
"Is anybody else getting a weird feeling?" Absol asked.
"Of course, you getting a weird feeling that's normal for you Absol" Aerodactyl replied annoyed.
"No, I'm getting it too" Lokix replied "I don't know if it's just my compound eyes but the walls seem like they're glowing"
"There glowing for sure" the lead Maushold agreed.
"It almost sounds like the walls are humming" Misdreavus added that when Inteleon focused, it sounded like the walls were giving off a strange low humming sound.
Inteleon emerged from the cave outside was a wide open grassy field surrounded by various lakes, streams, and waterfalls, seemly coming from nowhere high above a thick layer of clouds covering the sky although the streams of light streaking through implied the sun was up above them.
"Oh' almighty Sinnoh this place is incredible" Abomasnow exclaimed.
"I've never anything more beautiful in my life" Sandile gasped.
"Nope, nope, nope, that's it I'm going back let me out of here!" Spidops yelled running back into the cave they came from.
"Hold up now where do you think you're going" Darmanitan grabbed Spidops before he could get any further.
"Put me down, you big buffoon I'm not staying here this is the Great Creator of Paldea nobody comes in here there are monsters that live down here"
"Oh come on Spidops don't be ridiculous there's nothing here that's going to eat us now Greedent can you still pick up their scent trail"
"Yep it seems like they went further down this way"
"If I die I'm coming back as a ghost to haunt you guys"
Inteleon did have to admit that there was an ominous feeling about the crater there were various Pokémon living there but none of them spoke only gave them the occasional strange glance the further down the group went the more the walls seemed to sparkle and hum with crystallized energy.
"Puff!" a Jigglypuff leaped out from the bushes.
"Oh, hello there Ms. would you be so kind as to give us directions"
"That doesn't look like any Jigglypuff I've ever seen," Flygon remarked.
"Ya, what's up with the ponytail?" Sandile added.
"Puff!" the Jigglypuff's eyes turned bright red as it let out a feral screech.
"Who, now sorry if I offended you I shouldn't be going and assuming someone's gender"
"Puff!" with a loud screech Jigglypuff spun forward with a Gyro Ball attack before it could hit Inteleon Darmanitan stepped in fist glowing bright orange with a Fire Punch sending the Jigglypuff flying backward bouncing from wall to wall down the cavern with the threat gone the group continued walking.
"Sheesh talk about unfriendly locals"
"I told you guys this place was dangerous that thing had murder in its eyes"
"Oh calm down Spidops it was just a Jigglypuff you saw how Dar punted it with one hit" Absol tried to reassure him.
"Ya, it's not like it was something more threatening at least it wasn't a Hydreigon or some-"
"Garrrgh!" before Misdreavus could finish her sentence a roar came from around the corner a strange metallic-looking Hydreigon barreled out of the darkness.
"You had to say Hydreigon didn't you" Spidops yelled.
"Alright anybody got any ideas?" Lokix asked.
"We got one" the four mice that made up Maushold stood on top of each other and barred their teeth at it in an attempt at an intimidation display.
"I don't think it's working" Raichu panicked the strange-looking Hydreigon's three mouths started glowing black as it charged up a Snarl attack.
"Does anybody have any better ideas?"
"I got one" Stantler announced "We run away"
"Anyone got any objections"
"No, no, nope, most definitely note"
Everybody scattered in different directions avoiding the Snarl. Inteleon further down the cavern finally stopping in a wide open area. The entire area was covered in giant glowing crystals that seemed to hum with a mysterious aura.
"Oh thank goodness Misdreavus am I happy to see you" the Misdreavus turned around Inteleon could see that something was wrong with the Misdreavus it was covered with red spikes with fluttering tufts on its head.
"Squaaavis" Misdreavus fired a Shadow Ball from its mouth Inteleon jumped to dodge.
"What is up with everyone down here being so aggressive are you all just starved for contact?"
The Misdreavus fired off more Shadow Balls cornering Inteleon against a steep drop.
"Sayonara mutated Misdreavus" Inteleon backflipped off the cliff avoiding the Shadow Ball gliding down to the bottom of the cavern.
"Among!" A pair of strange-looking Amoonguss ran over to Inteleon eyes glowing with hostility.
"I'm just going to assume that you two aren't friendly"
"Guess!" the Amoonguss fired Seed Bombs from their heads Inteleon rolled out of the way and started running with strange Amoonguss in hot pursuit.
Inteleon was too busy looking behind him to see what was in front of him he suddenly slammed into something.
"Hey!" a strange-looking Donphan turned to face Inteleon.
"Do you think there's any Pokémon around here?" Juliana asked Florian. With her battle with Nemona later today Juliana was hoping to find another Pokémon. Since it was lunch break she and Florian had traveled to a small creek in Mesagoza to search.
"Mabey I would go looking down by the water" Florian took a bite from his sandwich.
"Smooool!" Florian suddenly stumbled backward.
"Aww oh god, it's in my eyes!" Juliana saw a Smoliv attempting to run away leaking olive oil everywhere although it wasn't getting very far on its stubby little legs.
Florian dropped a Pokeball out of his bag Juliana watched as it rolled down the pathway bumping into the fleeing Smoliv with three shakes Florian had accidentally caught his first Pokémon.
"Florian look you just caught a Smoliv-who" Juliana slipped on the olive oil sending her flying backward and sending Don's Pokeball flying out of her bag and down the bridge.
Juliana watched in horror as Don's Pokeball went down the bridge but before it could land in the water a Wooper swam by letting the Pokeball land on its head.
"Sorry about that Juliana there was a whole ass Smoliv in my sandwich don't know how that got there"
"You caught the Smoliv actually" Juliana handed Florian Smoliv's Pokeball.
"Qué!?"
"Ya, one of your Pokeballs fell out of your bag so it's yours now"
"Oh perfecto I'm the proud owner of a pizza topping," Florian said sarcastically.
"But more importantly isn't that Don's Pokeball down there"
"Ya it kind of fell out of my bag thankfully it landed on that Wooper"
"You mean that Wooper that's swimming downstream"
"Hey, wait get back here" Juliana jumped down the creek bank running after the Wooper.
"Hey, Wooper stop get back here"
"Woopa" the Wooper turned her head to her but kept swimming away.
"Alright forget it" Juliana started wading through the water and tried to grab the Pokeball from the Wooper's head Juliana slipped on the marshy ground and fell face first into the water.
When Juliana got up and wiped the water from her eyes she saw Don's Pokeball floating down the water heading for a sewer pipe before it could be swept away the same Wooper picked it up with his head.
"Oh, gracias a Dios Wooper"
"Woop" the smiled dropping the Pokeball in front of Juliana.
"Hey, Juliana look's like you've got an admirer" Florian called from the top of the bridge. Juliana turned around to see the Wooper was following her.
Suddenly Juliana had an idea.
"Say Wooper why don't you come with me how does that sound?"
"Woop Woopa!" Wooper seemed to like the idea.
Juliana threw out a Pokeball bumping Wooper on the head with three shakes Juliana had caught her first Pokémon.
Juliana already had the perfect name since he had saved Don's Pokeball she thought Salvador was a good name.
"I'm gonna call him Salvador have you thought of a name for Smoliv?"
"Ya, I'm going to call her Aceituna" Florian let Smoliv out of her Pokeball.
"What do you think Aceituna sounds like a good name?"
"Smol! "Aceituna panicked and face-planted into the ground.
"Well, I'm just going to assume that's a yes" Florian laughed.
With that Florian and Juliana caught there their first Pokémon.
"Hey," the strange Donphan asked it looked like a normal Donphan but far larger and covered in spikes.
Inteleon ran behind the Donphan trying to hide from the Amoonguss "Just pretend I'm not here man"
"Ahh, Great Tusk move out of the way" one of the Amoonguss yelled.
"Ya will just take our prize and go"
"Don't let them eat me, please I want to live!"
"Look if it's not you today it's someone else tomorrow"
"Well I'd rather not be today"
"Get Ummm!" the two Amoonguss screeched charging forward at Inteleon their fists glowing black with a Sucker Punch attack.
Before they could reach him Great Tusk stepped in the way his tusks glowing bright green with a Megahorn attack.
"Oh thank goodness Mr. Great Tusk I thought I was a goner there"
"Well lucky for you Brute Bonnet isn't the brightest mushroom in the forest.
"Brute Bonnet those things were Amoonguss"
"Listen man I don't what your talking about are you one of those from the above ground"
"Well Um, ya I did come from the above ground we were tracking some burglars, and"
"Wouldn't have anything to do with that Espathra ah"
"Espathra no I've never met an Espathra"
"She came through here with a gang of other Pokémon and tried to threaten me into joining her little crew said she give me unimaginable power" Great Tusk maid air quotes with his trunk. "One Stomping Tantrum sent them away. Got old Iron Moth to join them"
"Do I want to even know what an Iron Moth is" if Iron Moth was like the other residents of this place Iron Moth probably wanted Inteleon served up on a platter with garlic and sea salt.
Iron moth's a real character he keeps rambling on about the limitless potential of moving around the timeline and transcending time waves with the power of the crystals not surprised he would fall their crackpot scheme"
"Inteleon! There you are" Flygon flew over landing beside him.
"Who's this with you"
"Oh, this is Great Tusk he helped me when these mutated Amoonguss attacked me"
"Oh, well thank you, Mr. Great Tusk"
"Ya, ya all in a day's work"
"Well the others are waiting for you up there we lost that Hydreigon by hiding in one of the lakes"
"Iron Jugulis huh ya those guys can be a bit of a pain and very aggressive I just go avoid them"
Is that what they're called it looked exactly like Hydreigon"
"Well you see Flygon everything that lives in this hell cavern was named by a child apparently"
"Not like your names make any more sense" Great Tusk replied.
Inteleon had an idea
"Say Mr. Great Tusk you said you know about the Pokémon that came through here earlier?"
"Yes"
"How about you come with us back to the surface and you can help us find that Espathra.
"What Inteleon know are you crazy"
"Remember Flygon who did Cinderace leave in charge of the lab in his absence?"
"That doesn't give you the ability to go bring random Pokémon from who knows where back to the lab"
"What do you think Mr. Great Tusk how does that sound"
"Ugh I'm down for it I don't have anything better to do down here"
"See what did I tell you Flygon"
"Why do I even bother trying to reason with you"
"Alright Smoliv use Razorleaf and am it at Fuecoco and Fuecoco use ember on the Razor Leaf"
Smoliv fired a flurry of small sharp leaves at Fuecoco who let out an Ember burning the Razor Leaves burning in a delightful display.
"Alright now let's do that again but this time aim it higher"
Smoliv fired off another Razor Leaf and Fuecoco let out another Ember lighting up the Razor Leaf. Only for the burning leaves to fall on Aceituna and light one of her leaves on fire.
"Smoool!" Aceituna panicked running around trying to put the fire out.
"Esto va a ser Duro"
In the textbook on Pokemon Contests Florian had signed out it said that the trainer and their Pokémon had to be in tune and focused to be able to battle during the high-intensity contest battles.
It was very clear that Florian and his Pokémon weren't in tune Miguel enjoyed it but was uncoordinated well Aceituna was too quick to panic.
"Ana Hernández, Javier Torres do you have any explanation of why you weren't here yesterday"
"Whatever" Florian looked over to see who Ms. Miriam was talking to and froze.
It was the pair of Team Star grunts that he had run into the other day.
"Don't make eye contact don't make eye contact don't make eye contact" Florian made eye contact with both of them.
"Dammit, Florian you had one job!" Florian scolded himself internally.
Of all people he could have in his class it had to be those two. Although he was a bit thankful that their names weren't Oort and Kuiper he'd hate to meet someone that would name their child that.
Thankfully Oort and Kuiper seemed to ignore him and just went to practicing with Kuiper's Shroodle.
"Alright Smoliv let's try that again"
"Oh, my god that's Pathetic" Florian heard two girls whispering on a bench from behind him.
"Oh my god you imagine trying to be in a contest when you perform like that"
Florian realized that they were talking about him.
Rage filled Florian's mind how dare they talk about his Pokémon like that sure Smoliv was a bit scared but that didn't give her a right to trash talk her like that.
Florian shoved the thoughts down getting mad and yelling at someone was what the old Florian did not the new Florian all that ever got him was social alienation.
Florian just kept his focus on training his Pokémon he managed to get to do the flaming Razor Leaf without lighting Smoliv on fire so he considered it a productive day.
Florian had been training extra late so the hallway was mostly empty when he got out.
When he turned down the hallway leading to the stairwell he saw a pair of older-looking guys who had just gotten out of gym class.
"Hey man" one of them sneered
Florian tried to just keep walking.
"Hey man I'm talking to you" Florian stopped dead in his tracks.
"You one of those little gay boys" Florian sat silently not knowing what to say.
"Answer me you're one of those little gay boys who compete in contests aren't you" that finally sent Florian over the edge
"jódete pendejo!"
"Oh, so you do speak why didn't answer the question soy boy?"
"Lo que hago con mi tiempo no es asunto tuyo"
"So your not even denying it"
"Hey Levi you know he's in the same class as my girlfriend"
"Oh, that's even more pathetic I'm sure Trinity would whoop your ass in a contest" Florian didn't have to guess who the guy's girlfriend was.
Why don't you call her up and let's find out who's right"
"Oh, so you want to fight? Bitch?"
"I didn't say that I said I want to have a contest battle with your girlfriend or are you too much of a dumbass to know the difference" Florian was saying stuff now without thinking.
"Oh you do want to fight?" the two guys surrounded Florian they were way bigger than him they looked like sports players he knew he didn't stand a chance.
"Oye idiota Que vas a hacer ahi" Someone put his hand on the guy's shoulder Florian was shocked to see it was Oort.
"The fuck you want?"
"Oh I'm sorry you're from Unova right let me put it in a language you can understand hey man why are planning to beat the shit out of that kid there," Oort said in a fake-sounding Unova accent.
You want a fight you little shit" Levi snapped puffing his chest out.
"I mean you can" Kuiper interjected "But I've been recording you and it is a real shame if someone sent the video to Clavell wouldn't want daddy finding out back in Unova"
"You wouldn't"
"Oh, I would or if you don't want to do that I could just get Shroodle to paint all other that fancy car you're daddy bought you"
Levi shoved Florian against the wall and stormed off his friend following him.
"Tthh thank you" Florian stammered shocked that two Team Star grunts would willing help him.
"Ya, it's all in a day's work" Oort replied.
"Can I ask why did you two help I thought I was just a Nemona-sucking prep kid"
"Well, no matter Team Star hates bullies we stand up for everyone who gets bullied" Oort explained.
"Plus anyone brave enough to compete in contests when you're a guy gets my respect" Kuiper smiled.
"Is there anything that I can do to make it up to you?"
"Oh no man we don't need to be paid off for it"
"You don't want to like join Team Star"
"Well ya the offer is there will give you a few days and will get back to you"
"Ok ya sure that sounds good" Florian replied.
Florian continued walking down the hallway heading up the stairway to his dorm a whirlwind of questions in his head.
Perhaps Team Star wasn't so bad after all.
Que End Credit song Life Itself by Glass Animals I think the song fits with Florian's end chapter.
So what do you think of Florian and Juliana's first Pokémon I wanted them to be Pokémon you catch early in SV and I think Wooper and Smoliv are the best choices plus I just like them :)
So more plot advancement with the Espathra plot we're going to see more of Area Zero later on for anyone who's played Ark Aberration I imagine Area Zero is like that.
