Prompt: Presents
Fandom: Stargate SG-1
Pairing: Jack O'Neill x OFC
Jack had texted his team and General Hammond to meet him and Hadley, his girlfriend, at his house. Their first thought, without a doubt, had been that something was going on. Jack hadn't been specific in his text and he knew that they were probably thinking the worst. He hoped that once he explained what was going on, they wouldn't kill him for worrying them unnecessarily.
Daniel and T'ealc were the first ones to arrive, closely followed by Sam and General Hammond. Jack and Hadley stood next to each other in his living room, the bags with the presents placed on the chairs next to them, all identified with each friend's name, and with smiles on their faces.
Jack called them over as soon as they walked in the house. He told everyone that there was no crisis, but that he wanted to talk to them about something. He started by saying how much they meant to him and Hadley, both as teammates and boss, but, more important than that, as friends.
Looking back at General Hammond, he told him how much he treasured his friendship since the beginning and how without him, he would probably be dead by then and never would've had the chance of meeting Hadley. That's when Hadley handed him a large box destined for General Hammond. As he gave the box to General Hammond, he said that it was just a little something to show him how much he cares about him and his friendship.
General Hammond took the box from Jack, and before he opened it, he pulled Jack into a hug and thanked him. General Hammond looked at the perfectly wrapped box and ripped the paper to uncover its contents. Inside was a wine case and inside of that was bottles of 1990 Lafite Rothschild red wine. He knew this wine all too well. It was the wine that was served at both of his grandchildren's christening lunches. General Hammond thanked Jack again and moved to give Hadley a hug as well.
Jack then moved on to Sam, telling her how important she is to the both of them, since she was the one who introduced Jack to Hadley in the first place. Without her, they wouldn't be together and, just like with General Hammond, he wouldn't be alive. Grabbing an envelope from Hadley, he handed it to Sam and thanked her, giving her a hug.
Sam hugged him back, taking the envelope from him and thanking him. Opening the envelope, she pulled from inside something she had never thought he would ever give her: tickets for a two-day conference with Neil deGrasse Tyson. She smiled wide and let out a small squeal after seeing the tickets. She thanked and hugged them both, completely ignoring the chuckles that her squeal had caused.
Teal'c was next. Jack pointed out how happy he was that she was on their side and how he had become so close to Hadley. He thanked her for helping them and for always being there for either of them when they needed it. He took the box that Hadley was giving him and gave it to Teal'c, hugging him as well.
Teal'c hugged him back, thanking him, and proceeded with opening his present. Inside was a collapsible fighting staff. He smiled, knowing exactly what to do with that. Hugging them both, he thanked them and kept admiring his present.
Finally, it was Daniel's turn. Jack told him how lucky they all were to have him with them and how they all considered him a close friend and brother. He also thanked him for helping save Hadley's life when she almost died. Giving him the box Hadley had handed him, he thanked him again and hugged him.
Daniel hugged him back, not really sure how to react to what Jack had just said. He thanked him and started ripping the paper away. Inside his box was a case, and inside was a limited edition of The religion of ancient Egypt, a book he had been trying to get for a while now. It was perfect. He thanked them both and kept admiring his new book.
Jack thanked them all once again for everything they had done, for him and for Hadley. They stayed for a little while longer, admiring each other's presents, talking and laughing. Jack took a look around and realized Hadley was right. It felt great doing something like this for their friends. "To new traditions.", he thought, before wrapping his arm around Hadley's waist and talking to General Hammond about that bottle of red wine.
