Prompt: Wish Upon A Star

Fandom: Hawaii 5-0

Pairing: Chin Ho Kelly x OFC

It had been a rough shift with 5-0. Taking a moment to breathe, Adalynn stands in the balcony, looking over at the ocean in the distance and the stars in the sky. They had just finished a rough interrogation, and she needed those precious moments of peace so she could make it to the end of her shift.

She heard footsteps behind her. Looking over her shoulder, she watches as Chin makes his way to her. Wrapping an arm around her waist, he kisses her head as he asks if she was okay. He heard her take a deep breath before telling him that she will be.

Looking up at the stars, Chin pulled her closer, taking in the warmth that having her so close gave him. He knew better than to pressure her to talk about it. She would when she was ready. He thought back to when they first met, on her first day with 5-0, how she looked so certain and determined to do her job right, making it impossible for him not to notice her. And now, almost three years later, they had a life together and Chin couldn't ask for more.

Just as the news channels had promised, a meteor shower began while they were on the balcony. Chin looked down at Adalynn and saw that she had had her eyes closed and was just opening them. Asking her if she had made a wish, her answer was a simple nod and a smile before she looked back up at the sky.

Chin wasn't one to believe in those things, but he thought that sometimes one can use a bit of magic in their lives. Picking one of the many "stars" that were falling towards Earth, he closed his eyes and made his wish.

It was something simple. It was just that she would give a certain answer to a certain question he had been wanting to ask her but had yet to find the right moment to do so. Opening his eyes, he placed a kiss on the side of Adalynn's head just as they heard Steve's voice calling everyone.

Letting out a sigh, he let out a sigh before kissing Adalynn softly and telling her that they would continue that later. Adalynn kissed him back telling him she will hold him to that, before heading back inside as well. He watched her for a few seconds more, before following her.

Adalynn looked back out to the sky, taking one last look at the stars above before walking back inside to what was undoubtedly a new break in the case. She put her best game-face on as she made her way to the central computer, thinking back at the wish she had made on a shooting star and smiling, knowing that even if it didn't come true it was still fun to pretend.
