Day Fifteen - Snowed In / Snowstorm
George and Hermione are house sitting for Bill and Fleur when a snowstorm traps them in Shell Cottage for a week.
A/N: This is a Geormione one shot, so feel free to skip if you're not a fan. It's also a fairly short one. I don't like doing really long ones all the time anyway, so I hope this one is short and sweet.
Bill and Fleur had gone to visit her family in France for Christmas with their daughter Victoire. They'd left the couple enough supplies to last them for a month, which was lucky, because a snowstorm had trapped them in the house. They had both intended to go and visit the Burrow a couple of times a week, and go out and do other Christmassy things, but they couldn't even Floo out of the house, because Bill had had to cut their fireplace off from the network after an accidental unsupervised Floo trip by Victoire. They also couldn't apparate in or out of the actual house, considering the protective enchantments that were placed over it.
'What are we going to do trapped in for an entire week?' George complained. They had woken up to the snow completely blocking them in, covering the windows and the doors. Hermione was much calmer about the situation than George was.
'I'm sure we can find something to do, George,' she said soothingly, coming up to give him a hug.
He hugged her back and let out a resigned sigh. It was no good complaining about it. They were trapped for what looked like the whole week, and there wasn't much they could do about it.
'At least we have our muggle phones so we can still talk to people, and Bill and Fleur got themselves a muggle tv and video player, so we can watch some Christmas films,' she suggested.
George pulled away as he thought for a moment.
'Yeah, you know what? That actually sounds like fun. Maybe we can put up the Christmas tree and decorate the whole house!' He suggested brightly.
'That's the spirit!' Hermione chuckled. She was pleased he was looking forward to the week ahead a bit more now.
'We can maybe do some baking, make our own decorations the muggle way for something else to do, listen to Christmas music,' Hermione began listing off other things.
'And,' George cut in with a sly smirk on his face. 'We can do some other fun stuff too.'
Hermione looked at him puzzled for a moment before she picked up on his meaning. Her face went bright red at the thought.
'Yes, I suppose be could do some other things too,' she agreed with a sly smile.
'So maybe,' George walked back over to Hermione and pulled her in close, 'getting snowed in for a week or so isn't going to be such a bad thing after all.'
He leant down and gave her a soft kiss, pulling her into him more. It really was rather lucky, Hermione supposed. After all, being cut off Fromm everyone else as they were meant they wouldn't be interrupted much, if at all, and it left them with plenty of time to spend together. It really would be a good Christmas this year.
