Prompt: Pajamas
Fandom: Arrow
Pairing: Oliver Queen x OFC
Lauren hated going shopping. But when Maria, Oliver's girlfriend, told her that she was going shopping for Christmas-themed pajamas to give to Oliver, as a joke, she couldn't possibly deny herself the pleasure of messing with him, even if it was through his girlfriend.
Maria picked her up the day before early in the morning, wanting to grab breakfast before hitting the stores as they opened. Lauren was on a mission to find the most Christmassy pajamas possible. Maria must have realized it because she told her that she was leaving the final decision up to Lauren, to which she received the biggest smile she had ever given her.
They searched in every store that sold pajamas for that perfect one, but Lauren still hadn't found what she was looking for. They saw pajamas with drunk elves, reindeers, and Santa's on them. They saw pajamas that had cartoon characters dressed as Santa. They even saw one with the Green Arrow on it, dressed as Santa, but she quickly turned that one down. It would just boost his ego even more.
Both Lauren and Maria were losing hope of finding the right pajamas to give Oliver. Walking into the last store, Lauren was already sure that they weren't going to find what they were looking for, but as they were about to leave, from the corner of her eye, she saw the perfect one.
Right there, was the cutest and at the same time weirdest pajamas she had ever seen. It was perfect. There was no way Oliver could pull that off. Looking back at Maria, she saw her laughing like mad, tears in her eyes from laughing so hard. Just imagining Oliver dressed in that pajamas was enough to turn Lauren into a giggling mess.
Lauren picked it up and took a good look at it. "Yep, this is the one.", she thought, still trying to control herself. Maria was now next to her, trying to catch her breath, but failing miserably, since the thought of Oliver wearing that was still very present in her mind. Their eyes met and, without saying a word, they both nodded in agreement that it was perfect.
Making their way to the front of the store, they stood in line, waiting to buy the pajamas that would certainly send everyone to the floor, rolling with laughter. This was the perfect opportunity for Lauren to mess with Oliver and to know Maria was fully on board made it even sweeter.
Looking around while waiting for their turn, Maria spotted two things that would make the whole thing perfect. Telling Maria she would be right back, she quickly grabbed what she needed and returned to where Lauren was. When Lauren saw what she had picked up, she couldn't help but burst out laughing, already knowing that Oliver wasn't going to be happy about it.
It was their turn in line. Placing the pajamas and the two extra items on the counter for the cashier to ring them, it was funny to see the expression of confusion on his face. The cashier scanned the pajamas and the rest and told them their final amount. Pulling out her wallet, Maria was going to pay for everything when Lauren offered to pay for half. After all, they both had chosen the pajamas and it was a cool way to mess with Oliver, so it was only fair that Lauren would cover half of the bill.
They made their way out of the store, both still laughing. Maria thanked her for her help and for paying for half, telling her that she would pay her back. When Lauren denied, Maria said that she was going to tell Oliver that it was a gift from both of them. It didn't seem fair that she would be the only one taking credit for the amazingness that was those pajamas as well as the accessories.
Lauren laughed but agreed. She couldn't help but imagine Oliver's face when he has to wear them. It would totally make it worth having to go shopping in a crowded mall. Lauren realized then that she actually ended up enjoying going to the mall. She didn't know if it was because she considered it a mission or if it was because she was with Maria, but she really enjoyed it nonetheless.
They drove back to the bunker. Now, Lauren couldn't wait for the next day to come so she, and the rest of the team, could see Oliver in the pajamas that she and Maria had chosen. "Oh, this is going to be fun.", she thought, with a devilish smile on her lips.
Oliver had been dreading that day since Maria had come up with the idea. Don't get him wrong, he loved the woman to death, but sometimes she could put the fear of God in him. He knew that the Christmas pajamas idea was a bad one, simply because it would make all of them easy targets for each other. Who knew what kind of pajamas they would show up with.
He had already bought Maria's pajamas. It was a cute onesie with panda ears and a Santa's hat that said "Merry Christmas" across the chest and ass. It was cuter than Christmassy, even he knew that, but he wasn't going to get his girlfriend an ugly pajama. If only he could say the same for her. He knew Maria would go out of her way to find the most Christmassy pajamas possible, but he definitely wasn't counting on her enlisting Lauren's help.
It was after dinner when they decided to trade pajamas. Maria told everyone to go first, that they would go last. That just increased his anxiety. He knew his girlfriend's sense of humor, so he knew she would have gone to extreme lengths to find the perfect pajamas. Add Lauren to the mix and you had the perfect recipe to give him a heart attack.
Maria had only one rule: they all had to wear the pajamas for at least two hours. Those would end up being the longest two hours of his life. Seeing everyone laughing and teasing each other about their respective pajamas, made Oliver think that maybe, just maybe, the girls had gone easy on him. Oh, how wrong he was.
It was finally their turn. Oliver went first. He gave Maria her pajamas, neatly wrapped in Christmas wrapping paper. She tore through the paper and smiled when she saw the design he went with. He had added a fake bamboo cane to the package, just to mess with her a little. She pulled it over her clothes and showed it to everyone. Pictures were taken and compliments were given, and before he knew it, it was his turn.
Maria grabbed three nicely wrapped presents. She told him that it was from her and Lauren since she had helped Maria choose exactly what to give him. She also told him to open the big one first and that they thought it was perfect for him and they were sure he would love it, a cheeky grin on her face as well as Lauren's.
When he opened his present, he gasped at the sight before him and quickly tried to hide it from the others. "No, nope. I'm not wearing this.", he said, shaking his head, trying to get away from wearing it. But the look on Maria's face said it all. Either he would wear it voluntarily or she would force him. He had no other choice. Pulling the pajamas over his clothes for everyone to see, it was only a matter of seconds before the room erupted into laughter.
The pajamas had a huge cat wearing a Santa suit and hat surrounded by dogs with reindeer antlers. The only thing missing was the cat toy and catnip. That's when Oliver looked back at Maria and saw the two smaller packages that he had completely forgotten about. "She wouldn't.", he thought, hoping, and praying that she hadn't gone that far.
Unfortunately for him, she had. In those smaller packages were a feathered cat toy and a catnip stuffed mouse and he was going to have to wear it. Maria helped him put the pajamas on and gave him the toys, before giving him a short, sweet kiss, whispering a "thank you" before moving away. And as soon as she moved away, all he saw were flashes of light. Everyone was taking pictures and there was nothing he could do about it.
After a while, he warmed up to the pajamas, even if he wouldn't admit to it out loud. Seeing Maria happy was all that he cared about and if seeing him in the ridiculous pajamas made her happy, then why not have fun with it.
"Next time, I'll get them.", he thought, already planning his revenge on both Maria and Lauren.
