Gi Joe Commander General Clayton Abernathy also known by his GI Joe codename Hawk was in his office sitting at his desk. There was a knock at the door as Doctor Carl Greer also known as Doc walks in, Doc was the Joe team Doctor who has helped the team medically on many occasions

"What can I do for you Carl?" Hawk asked

"It's about my niece Carla. She's in trouble Clay." Doc responded

"What happened Carl?" Hawk asked

"As you know she took time off to work with the USAMRDC." Said Doc

"Oh yes, the U.S. Army Medical and Research and Development Command." Said Hawk

"She has been doing work with CDC the Center of Disease control. Anyway, she and a team of scientists were deployed on research mission to a country called Chernarus. Contact was lost two weeks ago. Clay I'm worried." Said Doc

"Don't worry Carl, we'll find her." Hawk promised

An hour later Hawk called a briefing with all the available Joes, they all sat and listened as he explained the mission.

"The next mission will take us to the country of Chernaurus located in the Green Sea region near the Russian border." Said Hawk

"Are you saying that the Russians may have them?" Duke asked

"I don't see how, from what I read about Chernarus is that it has abandoned after the civil war between them and Russian Separatists." Said Scarlett

"If the country is abandoned then why the hell are they over there?" Beachhead asked

"The CDC and the USAMRDC both refuse to provide any intel deeming classified." Said Hawk

"It doesn't matter why; Carla is one of us and we have to find her." Said Flint

"What's the plan Sir?" Lady Jaye asked

"Given the size of Chernarus there will be two teams deployed. Duke will lead one team into the Black Mountains. And Flint will lead the other team into the urban areas starting with the Capitol city of Novigrad." Hawk ordered

"One question Sir, do you think Cobra is involved in any way?" Scarlett asked

"I don't have any reason to believe that Cobra is involved, but we can never be too sure so be on your guard." Hawk responded

Doc gets up on the podium to speak

"As you know this mission is very personal to me, my niece Carla means the world to me, but this team also means a lot to me. So please all of you come back home safe." He spoke

"All right Joes time to suit up because we're set to deploy at 0200 hours." Said Hawk

Moments later Duke and Flint were in the locker room getting ready for the mission, Duke noticed the look of concern on his teammate's face

"What's wrong buddy?" Duke asked

"I get the feeling that there's more going on than what we know." Said Flint

"We always say knowing is half the battle, but this time we don't know shit." Said Duke

"Exactly, so how do we prepare for the unknown?" Flint asked

"Like we always do as a team. We're Joes we can handle anything that comes our way." Said Duke

"Yo Joe!" They both shouted.
