Chapter 7

Jess thought she heard something in her sleep. Due to their nocturnal activities the night before, both Jimmy and Jess were blissfully exhausted and didn't want to move or wake up yet. Their bodies were glued together, Jess draped over Jimmy's body and his arms wrapped around the woman he loved. When the sound continued Jess lifted her head and barely recognized the special ringtone she set up for her father. She blindly reached for her phone on the nightstand feeling around until she grabbed it and brought it to her ear. "Hi Dad," she managed to mumble out. She rolled to her side to try to not disturb the man she loved.

"Jessica, is that you? Did I wake you?"

"Yes, Dad, it's me. What time is it anyway?"

"It's 8am. I thought you'd be up for work."

Jimmy stirred not liking the lack of contact with Jess. He rolled to his side to spoon into her back putting his hand on her belly. Jess grinned to herself and put her free hand on top of Jimmy's.

"I'm on vacation with Jimmy and Victoria while Jimmy is at the Medical Examiners conference. We're at Disney World."

"That's great. Do you want to get married this weekend?"

"What? Where are you dad?"

"I'm in D.C. for a Congressional hearing on funding for the far east office."

"That sounds wonderful dad, but how can we pull that off on such short notice?"

"I talked to your mother and she is around as well as your sister. I'm hoping Jimmy's relatives are available."

"They are around as well. But where?"

You're in Disney World aren't you? What about the Grand Floridian Hotel where you're staying at? I called there before I called you. There was a cancellation and you can have their wedding venue this Sunday."

"Really?"

"Yes, really.

"Let me ask Jimmy. Hold on."

Jess picked up Jimmy's hand and kissed it before rolling toward him and kissing him on the lips. Jimmy mumbled something before opening one eye. "G'morning sweetheart."

"G'morning to you too sleepy head. I've got some exciting news from my dad!"

Jimmy shook his head as if to get the cobwebs off his brain. "Your dad is in town?"

Jimmy ran his hand from Jess' cheek down her side to her bottom. Jess smirked at him and whispered "Later my love." She pointed to her phone.

Jess sat up in the bed with Jimmy followed her lead. She put her phone on speaker. "You're on speaker now with both Jimmy and me. Tell us again."

"Good morning, Jimmy. You don't have a session to attend?"

"Not until later this morning. Good morning to you, too sir."

"No need to be so formal. You're part of the family now."

"Thank you."

"I called to tell you both that I'm in D.C. and there is a cancellation at the Grand Floridian this Sunday at their wedding venue. If you want, we can all come down and get you married then."

Jimmy and Jess looked at each other and beamed with excitement. "That sounds fantastic but how can we pull it off? I don't have my dress here and we need a Florida marriage license."

"Since you're nonresidents of Florida, there is no waiting period so you can get a license immediately."

"That's great!"

"I talked to your mom and sister too. After you moved in with Jimmy, you left your dress at your mother's house. They'll bring it down with them."

"Wow. "What about my tux?"

"Do you own one?"

"Yes, but it's probably out of style. I can rent one."

"Who is your best man?"

"McGee."

"I'll make sure he takes care of it."

"It sounds like you have everything taken care of."

"We do. I've booked the venue."

"Great Dad! We're excited. Thank you."

"Our pleasure. We'll talk to you tomorrow with more details."

Jess disconnected the call and set her phone down, Jess and Jimmy beamed at each other and slid back down on the bed. Jess climbed on top of Jimmy and kissed him senseless. Jimmy returned the kiss with everything he had and slid his hands to her bottom.

"Does this qualify as later, my love? Jimmy asked.

"Definitely, sweetheart." Jess responded with a smile and a kiss. Any fatigue from their prior nocturnal activities was completely forgotten.

Parker called a meeting with McGee, Torres and Kasie to share the disturbing news about Sanchez.

"All indications are that Hugo Sanchez is in Florida after escaping prison in Venezuela."

"Why is he there?" asked Kasie.

"All indications are that he is after one of our agents but we don't know who."

"He couldn't be after Knight could he?" asked McGee.

"I wish I knew," answered Parker.

"That would be horrible," said Torres. "Jimmy and Knight are going to get married this Sunday."

"I know," said Parker. "We're all going down there for the ceremony. I want us there to help them celebrate, not be body guards."

"Do they know?" McGee asked.

"Not yet. I don't want them to worry unless we are sure who his target is." Parker answered. "It could be someone else."

"Does anyone know if Knight had any dealings with Sanchez in the past?" Torres asked.

"That's what we need to find out. Everyone, look through Knight's past arrest records and assignments. See if we can find any connection to Sanchez or his family."

Jimmy and Jess reluctantly separated after their lovemaking and got out of bed pulling on their terry cloth robes.

"We better check on Victoria and give her the great news."

Jimmy nodded. "I'm surprised that she didn't knock on our door wondering when we were getting up."

"I think she is more aware of things between us than we want to admit."

Jimmy looked surprised for a moment and nodded his head. "After losing her mom and almost me from a bio-terror attack I think she has had to grow up really fast. It'll be great to have you in her life to help her with growing up into womanhood."

"You've done a great job as a single dad."

"Thank you, but I can't tell you how thankful I am to have you in our lives and to be part of our family."

"I'm excited to be a member of the Palmer family and hopefully giving Victoria a little brother or sister down the road."

Jimmy grinned. "I love you."

"I love you too."

Victoria was over the moon when she found out that the wedding was on Sunday.

"I can hardly wait. Am I going to be in the wedding?"

"Yes, you'll be a combination flower girl and bridesmaid." Jess responded.

"Wonderful."

"The family is bringing everything down on Friday. Your dress will come with them."

"Where are you going on your honeymoon?"

"Your Dad and I haven't decided yet. We'll talk about it more tonight. We need to get moving to make it over to EPCOT. Your Dad is going to join us over there after the conference is done for the day."

Victoria grinned. "That's great. I'm looking forward to having Dad with us for some fun."

"Me too."

They gathered what they were taking to the park and headed to the Monorail.

Jimmy was having difficulty concentrating on the breakout session on new rules and regulations. It wasn't just the topic, however. It was the thought of meeting up with Jess and Victoria at EPCOT. He was very glad the conference was ending at noon tomorrow so he could concentrate on what truly mattered, his family. Feeling his phone vibrate, Jimmy looked at the screen. There was a text from Jess with a picture of Victoria in front of Italy with the caption "Feeling a little Italian today?"

Jimmy smiled and answered right back. "Very. I'll meet you there at 5pm. We're ending a little early today."

Jess sent back a smiley face emoji that was blowing a kiss. "See you then!"

Jess called Victoria over to you her and said "Your Dad will meet us here at 5 for dinner."

Victoria smiled and said "Great! I'm going to order a big plate of spaghetti with meatballs."

Jess chuckled. "Well we better head over to Future World and work up an appetite."

Victoria laughed and said "Lead the way mom. I think we have a lot to see."

Hugo Sanchez fell asleep on the back seat of the car while his body guard drove east toward Orlando. They were heading to a warehouse in an industrial area in the southern part of the city. The phone rang.

"Hola."

"Donde esta?"

"Lakeland."

"Any news?"

"We're waiting to hear from our contact in the FBI."

"What's taking so long?'

"Not sure. We should know where she is by the time you get here."

Jimmy arrived in front of the restaurant in Italy at EPCOT. He sent a text to Jess when he arrived at the front gate. Victoria searched the front of the restaurant for her Dad when they got close.

"There he is!" exclaimed Victoria before running to her father. Jimmy picked her up and swung her around, giving her a kiss on the cheek. Jess arrived as Jimmy set Victoria down and wrapped her arms around him while giving him a big kiss. "I missed you"

Jimmy grinned and kissed her back. "I missed you too."

Victoria tugged on her parents' sleeves and said "I'm hungry. Let's eat."

"We've done a lot of walking this afternoon and worked up quite an appetite." Jess said.

Jimmy took a hand from each of the ladies in his life and led them inside.

Once seated at their table the waiter dressed as a gondolier came to take their orders.

Victoria spoke first. "I'll have spaghetti and meatballs please."

Jess said to Jimmy "Do you want some pizza and an antipasto salad?"

"Sounds good to me. A deluxe combo pizza?"

Jess nodded. "We'll have a medium deluxe combo pizza and an antipasto salad. Sparkling waters all around."

"Very good," said the waiter.

"How was your training session today?" Jess asked.

"Boring. I had a hard time staying awake."

Jess chuckled. "Was it because of the subject matter or lack of sleep?"

Jimmy laughed. "Definitely the subject matter. I sleep much better with you in my arms."

"Me too," said Jess. They leaned together to share a brief kiss.

"What's been your favorite part of EPCOT, Victoria?" Jimmy asked.

"I liked the plant earth ride the best."

Jess' phone rang with her father's ring tone. She answered it. "Hi Dad."

"Jessica, how are you?"

"Great Dad. We're in EPCOT getting some Italian food. Jimmy and Victoria say hello."

"Just wanted to let you know that we have our flights booked to arrive on Friday in the early afternoon. We'll be staying at the Grand Floridian too."

"Wonderful. Looking forward to seeing you."

"I'm supposed to tell you that your dress is ready to go and Victoria's dress will be picked up tomorrow."

"Great."

"Also tell Jimmy that McGee has everything under control."

"Will do dad. See you on Friday."

Jess shared the conversation with Jimmy and Victoria when their food arrived. Everyone was hungry and ate their food while discussing what to do at EPCOT after eating. They decided to watch the China movie and find some ice cream in France afterward.

A few hours later, they collapsed in their room on the living room couch. Jimmy stretched out, putting his head on Jessica's lap. Victoria sat on the opposite side of her mother snuggling into her side after picking up the remote and turning on the TV. She found a Disney movie and started to watch. Jimmy fell asleep since Jess' lap made a very comfortable pillow. Jess looked down at her soon to be husband with love in her eyes and gently stroked his hair. It was a very peaceful ending to their full and exciting day.
