Much like Spear Pillar when I first played Distant Planet a few times when I first got Brawl, Distant Planet was one of my worst and least favorite stages in the game but like Spear Pillar, the stage is growing on me and I am getting better at it.
Before I begin, let me just say that this write-up is fairly short. I am sorry for you guys expecting me to do another long write-up for Brawl. Sorry guys. I promise in #20 on the countdown, it will be a longer write-up then this one.
The biggest problem I had with for Distant Planet, is the rain that screws you and your opponents up in the stage and that the stage is fairly small. During the rain section that happens in this stage, it is very easy for you to die on if you or someone else landed on the rain path in the level. If you do not have a character with a great aerial like Yoshi or Jigglypuff and you accidentally get on the rain path in the level while it is raining, you are going to be washed away by the rain path and lose a life/stock.
The other problem I had with for Distant Planet is, the stage is fairly small. The only major platforms in the level is one long plant rope and three jumping leaf platforms in the level. It is a great thing that these level platforms are balanced, but the stage IMO, feels to small to fight on. I think a few more platforms would of been more nice.
As for music and animation, the animation and music is decent. The jungle feel from the Pikmin series fits the stage well and the music has some decent remixed tracks from the series. I really liked The Map Screen Pikmin 2 Song in this stage.
Overall, aside from the minor rain problem in this stage and that the stage is a bit small, I rank Distant Planet as a decent stage for Brawl. I will admit and say that I do have a love passion for big stages in Brawl...well aside from New Pork City anyways.
