Preston Ward Condra Ranks All 31 Super Smash Bros Brawl Stages

Another Smash Bros project I made, where I ranked all 31 stages from Super Smash Bros Brawl. The unlockable past N64 and Melee stages will not be a part of this publication. I initially did this project, back in December 2008, during the mundane two week break from school. I don't know why I wrote all this down but, alas I did anyway. Enjoy reading it.

13. 20 - Frigate Orpheon

We are now entering The Top 20 Stages in the countdown. Coming in at #20 is Frigate Orpheon. As always, I have to start the problems with stages when I do my write-ups in my countdown, the two biggest problems I had with for Frigate Orpheon is that Frigate is that is it an EXTREMELY SMALL stage to play on and the rotation that happens in this level can, be annoying at times.

Frigate Orpheon is a very small stage to play on and has a lack of platforms to fight on. The main platform in the stage is about half the length of Bridge of Eldin. That's small. Also like I said, there is a lack of platforms to fight on, as the only platforms to fight on for this stage is one main long platform, one non-move able platform in the left corner of the stage and one platform that sometimes appears in the stage going up and down.

Yes, small stages Frigate Orpheon give off a lot of great fast pace fighting action in this stage but, this is ruined by a few things. Like most small stages, it is fairly easy to lose a life. Your opponent can easily do a power based cheap combo on you, trap and push you into of the corners in the stage, use items on you while you were trying to recover and you would lose a life.

Also, the stage is ruined by, the occasional rotation that happens in the stage. Whenever the stage rotates, the ENTIRE stage rotates and it rotates on ANY direction. This makes a factor of luck because, since Frigate Orpheon is a small stage, you could accidentally kill yourself while trying to point your surroundings on where you want to land on the stage before the stage goes back to normal. This can and most likely, result for a Cheap KO.

On a massive flip side for Frigate Orpheon is that I think the music in this stage is AWESOME. Frigate Orpheon has IMO, one of the if not, THE Best music selection for a stage in Brawl. All of the music that plays on this stage, are great remixes from the Metroid series with a great rock based beat it. I REALLY LOVE the Ridley Vs. Boss music that plays on this stage. One of the best in the game.

But again, I said it before and I will say it again, Gameplay has to come first for a stage rather then music and animation for a stage to be great in Brawl. Frigate Orpheon is lucky I am being kind to it for ranking it in the countdown this high for it.
