It was 10 pm. I was playing a game when someone knocked at my door.

"Yeah?" I asked, still playing my game because it's multiplayer. Can't pause that.

"Can I come in?" The person from the other side said.

"Yeah, yeah." I said, not taking my eyes off the screen. The door opened and it was my mom.

"Can you pause your game for a second?" My mom asked.

"Nope, can't do it cuz it's multiplayer. But the match is almost finished." I said. After 30 seconds or so, the match finished.

"Aha! 25 and 0, new K/D baby!" I celebrated. I took my headphones off and turned to my mother.

"What is it?" I asked.

"Well, we got a surprise from me and your dad." She said in a happy tone.

"Really? Cool. So what is it?" I asked, curiosity in my voice.

"Tell me, do you want to go see lions?" She asked.

"You mean we're going to a zoo?" I asked.

"Guess again." She handed me a piece of paper.

"flight AA244, JFK to NBO, Gate 4. Be at the gate before 1330 hours." I read the paper out loud. I looked back at my mom.

"So, you're telling me, we're going to Africa, tomorrow?" I said in a shocked tone and she nodded in response.

"I can't believe it! Are we seriously going to Africa!?" I dashed toward my mom and hugged her.

"Yes!" She said replied with the same energy as mine.

"Whoohooo!" I was celebrating when my dad came in.

"I guess you already told him didn't you?" My dad said.

"How'd you know?" My mom said sarcastically. We all laughed and embraced each other, not knowing it would be my last.

"Good night honey/son." They both said.

"Night guys." I said before they closed the door.

'I CANT BELIEVE IM GONNA SEE THE ANIMALS OF AFRICA IN REAL LIFE!!'

I screamed in my thoughts before closing my eyes so I can open them to see the next day.
