"Alright, we have our clothes, toothbrushes, Gadgets. Did we forget anything?" The one who said that, was my dad.
"Nope." I said excitedly
"Are you sure?" My mom said confirming, not taking any chances because the airport is a long way from home.
"Very, sure." I quickly said because of the excitement.
"Are you really sure?" My mom said again.
I thought about it for a minute or two before I look at her again.
"I'm pretty sure that I got everything mom." I said.
"Uh-huh, yeah. While you were dancing and running about, you forgot your wallet." She looked at me deadpan.
"Seriously?" I checked my pockets and yup, I forgot my wallet.
"Oh, uh, sorry?" I grinned in embarrassment
'I thought I already got everything'
"Next time, double-check." my dad said. Suddenly, an announcement for our flight came in.
"That's our flight, let's get our things and head over to our gate." My dad said, getting our luggage.
"Alright!" I almost tripped due to my excitement.
"Easy there sweetie, you almost tripped there. Do you want to go to Africa or the hospital?" My mom said.
"Ok, ok." after composing, I head inside the plane with my mom and dad in front of me.
16 hours and 30 mins into the flight
I woke up and it was dark in the cabin. A sensation that was too familiar formed down south.
"Ok, where's the lavatory?" I ask myself as I scan around the cabin.
"Ah, there you are." I soon began walking.
I was near the lavatory when suddenly, the plane banked to the right and I stumbled.
"Owww, what the?" I asked confused.
"Isn't the seatbelts signs off?" I asked myself in confusion. I was about to continue when the plane jerked again.
"Ok, maybe I'll do it later." I was going back to my seat when the plane suddenly dived and made me hit my head against the seat.
"Ahhh, Jesus! I did not want my flight to turn into a roller coaster!" I said stumbling from seat to seat. The other passengers were screaming at the flight attendants.
"Mom, Dad!" I yelled to gain their attention, But it was no use with people screaming and drowning my voice.
'Ok mark, stay calm take deep breaths. it's no use, they can't hear me. I need to sit down and buckle up.'
I strapped myself on a random seat. I glanced out the window to my right and saw the ground.
"That's not good." I braced myself from the inevitable
Oxygen masks dropped, alarms from the cockpit can be heard, and flight attendants making sure to brace for impact.
Then we hit the ground.
I woke up still in my seat. I checked myself and to my surprise, was quite alright. I looked at the crash site. Dead bodies were all over, some of them were burning and some of their body parts weres nowhere to be seen.
"NOOO!!!" My eyes were welling up because I just lost my parents. I scanned my surroundings and saw an L-shaped rock. I decided to head over there.
I- I'm all alone...
I stopped to take a break from all the running. I sat down under a tree to mourn for my parents before suddenly, I heard a voice and it sounded like a girl.
Oh please, be real and not my imagination.
"Hello?! Where are you?!" I try to yell but my throat still hurts. I heard it again but this time, it was a scream.
"Hold on, I'm coming!" I ran to where I heard the voice.
I ran and ran and eventually, I saw hyenas circling a lone lioness.
When I saw this, I immediately ran and kicked its head. All the other hyenas turned to look at me before snarling.
I don't know why I'm saving a lioness but I felt like I need to.
"Alright you disgusting creatures from hell, I just lost my family and I ain't in the brightest of moods. I suggest you leave or do I need to kick all of you to oblivion like your friend over here?" I threatened.
"And who are you?" A random hyena asked.
You just have to ask, don't you? Wait... IT TALKS?! HAHA, I'm going crazy. I put that thought behind me for now. Right now, Gotta save the lioness. I kicked the hyena away from me and turned to the other hyenas.
"Who's next?" I asked as I grab a nearby rock.
All the hyenas pounced at me. I blocked a hyena from biting my knee and in return, kicked its head and heard a snap.
I turn to see a hyena closing on the injured lioness and I immediately dashed at the said hyena and bashed its skull open.
While I was doing this, a hyena pounced and bit me on the shoulder which made me drop my rock, But that didn't stop me from using my fists.
"Get this you crazy bastard." I said to the hyena, punching it like a madman.
I stopped and looked at the remaining hyenas who were scared of me.
'You should be.'
"Alright, alright, we're sorry, we won't do it again!" A hyena said scared at the fact I took down 4 of them.
I made sure they were gone before turning to the injured lioness. Who was very scratched up. I try to stand up straight.
"Hey, don't move. You're really injured. I'm guessing you're the one that screamed." I said to the lioness.
"Oh, uh yeah, thanks for saving me by the way." The lioness eyed me up and down.
"My eyes are up here princess." I said.
"How do you know my title?!" She blushed before gasping.
"Uhh, lucky guess?" I shrugged. I began walking towards her to introduce myself.
"I'm mark by the way" I waved my hand.
"Kiara.." She replied. I suddenly felt very tired and my eyes began to close.
'Ahh, there goes the adrenaline.'
I swayed from left to right.
"Hey, you don't look so good, are you alr-" Before she could finish her sentence, I fainted.
The last thing I saw was a bunch of lions running toward me and Kiara.
