"So…about that dinner…" Jen's voice met the silence that had just filled the room, a comfortable silence they shared after a passionate release of emotions.
Colin propped his head up on his elbow, his gaze never leaving hers. A smile lined his lips once more and he chuckled, "Well, we've still got time if you're hungry."
"I'm starving!" Jen laughed, her hand brushing some stray hairs back from Colin's forehead. She ran her fingers along his hairline, back behind his ear, and let her hand come to a rest where his neck and shoulder meet. His skin still felt warm to the touch.
"How about this," Colin offered, "We shower and then go?"
Jen spoke no more, only rolling over slowly out of bed, looking over her shoulder with a beckoning look, and headed for the shower. Colin rolled off the bed and followed right behind her, grabbing her waist, and leading her the rest of the way, giving small kisses to her shoulder.
By the time they had reached the shower, only a short distance from the bedroom, their lips had met again, like a hunger they couldn't satisfy and had to keep feeding. These kisses were so different from all the ones before it. Colin held tight to the back of Jen's head, wrapping his fingers up in her hair. Jen's hands traveled all over Colin's back, her nails scratching and caressing him in a passionate, yet gentle way.
Once they found their way into the shower, Jen reached behind her and turned the water on. A shriek came from her mouth as the cold water hit her back. She pushed forward against Colin, slamming his back into the wall, to get away from the frigidness that met her skin. Colin couldn't help but let out a belly laugh and wrapped his arms around the middle of her back, watching her face change from twisted back into a big smile. Jen began laughing at herself and the situation.
Before long, the water had warmed, almost too much, and Colin moved Jen back under, pushing her chin back with one hand so the water would rain down against her long, blonde locks. Jen closed her eyes and let the warmth of the shower and Colin's naked body still against hers consume her. Without realizing it, another smile creeped along her lips.
"What're you thinking about, love?" Colin's voice came crackling through the water flow against her ears.
Jen tipped her head up, opening her eyes. She paused a minute, looking over his strong, masculine features. "I'm just, I'm so happy." Her eyes met his again and she felt that she could melt away in his sea of blue.
Colin raised his eyebrow, smiling back at her, "I couldn't agree more." His voice was soft as he leaned in and met her lips with his once more. The heated water now poured down over both of them as their bodies slide against one another, their kissing turning in to so much more.
Colin's lips moved from hers, down along her jawline to her neck. He moved his tongue across the bottom of her jaw, down below her ear, and suckled. He then led a trail of kisses to her collar bone and suckled more there.
A moan escaped Jen's lips as she felt him trail down her neck. She lifted her head up towards the ceiling, reveling in his touch. Her hands moved from around him up into his hair where she found the moisture from the water even more attractive on him. Her hands pulled gently at his brown locks until she couldn't wait any longer and pulled his head back up, her lips slamming against his.
Before long, Colin had spun Jen around and was back inside of her, gentle yet wistful. With each thrust, they both let out harmonious moans, fully enveloping themselves in this romantic occasion. Colin had a hand on the small of her waist and the other on her shoulder. Jen placed her hands against the wall of the shower in front of her but leaned her head back against Colin's shoulder. Their hips fell into a synchronous motion and in time, they both met their climax. Jen's body arched and her legs shook, almost feeling weak. Colin wrapped his arms around her stomach and held her there, letting the water shower down against their faces. He waited a moment before sliding out of her and then turned her around to face him once more, placing a soft kiss on her forehead.
"There isn't anywhere else I'd rather be," his forehead fell against hers, his eyes closing to block out the water.
Jen's hand found his cheek and she held it there. She tipped her head up and kissed his lips in the softest way.
Colin waited a moment before moving one hand off of Jen and reaching for her shampoo. "Shall we?" he laughed.
"Probably a good idea if we ever want to make it to dinner!" Jen laughed back. She held her hands in a cupped position as Colin squeezed the bottle upside down, releasing her shampoo into her hands. Instead of lathering her own hair, she began to lather his, slowly, scraping her nails against his scalp, gently massaging as she went. She then rinsed her hands under the warm water and grabbed her body wash, holding it up to him, "You don't think this will give anything away, smelling like me, will it?" she let out a laugh, her shoulders shaking as she did.
Colin grabbed the bottle from her and poured the liquid out onto her shoulders and breasts, "I wouldn't mind if anyone knew. But for now, it's your turn!" Colin set the bottle back down and began rubbing Jen's shoulders, kneading the tops and bottom part of her neck. Jen let her head fall against his chest, small moans leaving her lips as she enjoyed the massage she was getting. "Colin…wait…" she looked back up at him, "you have to stop, or we'll never leave this shower!"
He smiled at her knowingly but rubbed his hands down her arms and across her chest, moving around to her back, "Fine, I'll keep moving."
Before long, they had both finished washing and rinsing the soapy bubbled from their body and hair, turning the water off and stepping out, helping each other dry off. Jen slipped back into underwear and dress and Colin back into his wine-colored button down, boxers, and black slacks. He found his socks and put them on while Jen slipped into her heels.
Turning to Colin, Jen said, "Give me like 10 minutes to touch up my hair and make-up and we can go get some food! I'm starving!" she grabbed her stomach as she felt a low growl from inside.
Colin nodded and kissed her cheek from behind as he left the bathroom and walked over to the couch, making himself comfortable. He ran his hand through his wet hair, pushing it over to its normal style.
Jen grabbed her blow dryer from the bottom drawer and plugged it in. She brushed from the ends up to her roots and flipped the blow dryer on, quickly running it from roots to end, curling the bottoms in as she went. When finished with that task, she moved on to make-up, brushing mascara on her eyelashes, top and bottom, dabbed on blush, and grabbed her clear lip gloss from the drawer. She ran the gloss wand across her bottom lip and rubbed her lips together. To finish everything off, she grabbed her favorite perfume from the countertop and spritzed some on each wrist, behind each ear, and along the exposed parts of her collar bone. She placed everything back in its place and walked out to Colin, rubbing his shoulders from behind. She bent over and whispered in his ear, "Ready?"
Colin got a good whiff of her perfume and turned, his lips meeting hers in a soft, sweet kiss, "Absolutely." He wiped away the gloss that had transferred on to his lips, stood and took her hand, and walked out the door, down the stairs, and in the direction of his car.
.
Dinner went as smoothly as always. Conversation was light, but meaningful, the food was on par, and both enjoyed a few glasses of wine before the night was done.
Colin opened the car door for Jen, just as he always had any time they went places together and closed it behind her. He walked around to his side and climbed in. After he buckled his seatbelt, he looked over to Jen who was already looking back at him.
"What?" he smiled.
"This all just feels like a dream," she smiled back, barely able to contain her joy.
"Well, love, I can promise you, you're awake and this is real." He grabbed her hand and leaned over the middle console, pulling her in and kissing her. Jen kissed back, biting his bottom lip softly. Colin reciprocated and ran his tongue along her bottom lip before biting her gently. Both pulled back and smiles stretched across their face, but before long, they were met with a camera flash.
"Time to go!" Colin shifted the gear into drive and got them out of there before the paparazzi could snap too many pictures of their outing. He drove them back onto the set parking lot and parked next to Jen's car.
Jen moved her hand from Colin's thigh where it was resting and grabbed his hand, "I really had a great time tonight, Col." Her eyes met his again, causing her heart to flutter in the moment.
"I did too, Jen. I'm glad we finally made it to dinner, but the before stuff was pretty fun too, don't you think?" he winked at her, following up with his infamous smolder.
Jen laughed, "Very much so." She unbuckled her seatbelt and twisted her body towards him, leaning over and kissing his cheek, "Goodnight, Col, I'll see you tomorrow."
"Goodnight, Jen." Colin's held on to her hand as long as he could before finally letting it go so, she could get all the way out. He watched her shut the door and get into her own car, start it, and back out, driving away from him.
His heart ached in a way it hadn't ached in a long while as he watched the woman he was deeply falling for drive off. Wow, what is that woman doing to me? He thought. He rested his head back against the head rest of his seat momentarily before reversing his own car and driving back to his place in Vancouver.
.
Jen made it back to the studio apartment she had been renting out for her time in Vancouver. She had stayed with Colin and Helen for a while, used their third bedroom and made sure to keep her space nice and tidy, not only because she was typically a clean person, but because she wanted to make sure they understood her appreciation and generosity, but when it came time to film season five of the show, she wanted to branch off, couldn't handle hiding her feelings and living with the same man she was falling for, it didn't feel right for many reasons, but mostly to protect her own heart.
She pulled into her parking spot and got out, locking her car, and heading up to the door. Once inside, she made her way to the elevator and took it straight to her floor. She unlocked her door, walked inside, and kicked off her heels, rolling each ankle in the air as she did so. She had no problem wearing heels, but it always felt so good to take them off after.
She threw her keys and bag onto the counter top and walked to the bathroom. Grabbing a make-up wipe, she removed the mascara and blush. She followed that by running a brush through her hair as the cold air did no kindness to it. Once all the knots were brushed out, she moved to her bedroom and stripped out of her dress and into some plush-like pajama pants, a gray tank top, and threw her hair up into a top knot.
Ava, her dog, came to greet her from the living room by putting her paws up on the bed and waiting. Jen scooped her up, gave her a kiss and accepted a kiss on her cheek back from her, and put her down on the bed. Jen grabbed her contact solution and case and removed her contacts, putting her glasses on and then crawling under her covers. That night was the first night she had slept soundly in months, and it was all thanks to a man who felt like nothing more than a dream to her.
