Preston Ward Condra Ranks All 31 Super Smash Bros Brawl Stages

Another Smash Bros project I made, where I ranked all 31 stages from Super Smash Bros Brawl. The unlockable past N64 and Melee stages will not be a part of this publication. I initially did this project, back in December 2008, during the mundane two week break from school. I don't know why I wrote all this down but, alas I did anyway. Enjoy reading it.

31. 2 - Delfino Plaza

In each Smash Bros. game, there has been at least one Mario stage I loved in each installment in the Smash series. The unlockable Mushroom Kingdom stage for the N64 is in Top 5 of one of my favorite stages in the Smash Bros. series and Rainbow Ride and Peach's Princess Castle were very fun stages in Melee and Brawl continues this trend with Delfino Plaza in Brawl.

The music and animation is sweet. The music from past Mario games fit the style of Delfino Plaza well. On top of that, the changing gameplay keeps the fighting action from turning bland quickly. The main platform in Delfino Plaza changes often for the gameplay. You could be fighting on top of the Shine Tower to the outskirts of Delfino Plaza to fighting in the water of the stage. Unlike other stages that involve water ala Hanenbow, Delfino Plaza gives you time to get out of the water warning you to get out rather then being dragged down in it fast. Water elements for a stage in Brawl IMO, is very unique and very fun to fight on. Who knows. Maybe in Super Smash Bros. 4, we may get a stage where it takes place in Water. THAT would be a very unique stage to fight on for the Smash Bros. series.

Stages with the platform changing are favorites to me in the Smash series. Delfino Plaza nails the gameplay perfectly as just about anyone can have a fun time fighting on Delfino Plaza.

The reason why Delfino Plaza isn't Number#1 in my countdown is that compared to Luigi's Mansion, some of the changing gameplay portions in Delfino Plaza are fairly small to fight on. More fighting room for the stage would of been nice in some portions of the stage but, it's only a minor problem since there is enough variety in the stage to overlook this problem.

Delfino Plaza is a very fun stage and very enjoyable for just about anyone to pick up and play. Delfino Plaza may not be #1 in the countdown but, that should not matter as not every stage can be perfect. Delfino Plaza goes down in my Top 10 favorite stages in the Smash Bros. series. Overall again, Delfino Plaza is a very fun stage to fight on Brawl.
