Preston Ward Condra Ranks All 31 Super Smash Bros Brawl Stages

Another Smash Bros project I made, where I ranked all 31 stages from Super Smash Bros Brawl. The unlockable past N64 and Melee stages will not be a part of this publication. I initially did this project, back in December 2008, during the mundane two week break from school. I don't know why I wrote all this down but, alas I did anyway. Enjoy reading it.

32. 1 - Luigi's Mansion

Luigi's Mansion is my favorite Brawl stage and even though Luigi is one of my worst characters in Brawl, Luigi is given one of the best stages I have seen in the Smash Bros. series, let alone for any fighting game I have ever played. Luigi's Mansion goes down in the Top 5 of my favorite Smash Bros. Stages out of the entire 3 Smash games.

Luigi's Mansion's gameplay, animation and music IMO, is flawless. The main music that plays on Luigi's Mansion fits the style of the stage well with most of the music tunes in Luigi's Mansion, having a slow and spooky based tone that can catchy to listen to.

The main fighting gameplay in the stage, is done well and fun to fight on. Luigi's Mansion has multiple platforms to jump and fight on making room for fast paced action. Other fun main gameplay elements I had with Luigi's Mansion is the stage being breakable making room for more fighting action. I have been a fan of large stages since Saffron City and Sector Z back on the Nintendo 64 and Luigi's Mansion is no different then any other big Smash Bros. stage out there. Big stages are extremely fun in the Smash Bros. series to fight on.

One last major gameplay note I enjoyed in Luigi's Mansion is that while the mansion is breaking, you and your opponents are given a big amount of stage freedom letting you do whatever you please unlike most stages in the Smash Bros. series, you can start from doing a variety of combos on your opponents to kicking your opponents in the air destroying the main platforms in the mansion.

The animation in Luigi's Mansion is like I stated earlier, FLAWLESS. The night based spooky Halloween style on Luigi's Mansion fits the style of the stage well with the music and follows the style well for the Gamecube well. The music like I stated, has a catchy spooky vibe. Every single and I repeat, every single song on Luigi's Mansion is remixed well from where it first made from, fitting in the style of Luigi's Mansion, let alone well in Brawl.

All and all, Luigi's Mansion goes down as one of my favorite stages in the Smash Bros. series overall. No matter what type of gameplay style I was doing on this stage like Coin Matches, I always had a fun time with me and my friends having a fun time on Luigi's Mansion. Luigi's Mansion goes down as being a good original fun stage in the Smash Bros. series overall.
