Episode 3-Friend or woe from whom much is taken, much abides; and tho'

Viper de la Muerte had once more solved another case, outwitted those that thought she was no threat, now with the mystery solved and all in awe of her brilliant intellect and strength once more there was nothing standing between her and Godrick of the Woods.

Wednesday paused at that, this was new of her, this character had never featured in her books and this was supposed to be the start of another mystery by using the end of the previous book as a jumping off.

"Strange that the name of the villain comes now, usually it's latter in the process." She said to herself as she continued to write her book.

Viper would find Godrick in his wondering in the forest, then they could be together.

Wednesday paused again.

"Focus." She said to herself.

Viper would finally taste Godrick's sweet lips and they would be hers and hers alone. She would make him become obsessed with her till the very thought apart would drive him mad and his brain would bleed. Godrick would dream of her.

Godrick would dream of her, would her as the sun, as a goddess and he would fly close and the light from Viper would burn him, melt his wings and they would both crash into each other, and die and there would be nothing but darkness and their embrace, their rotting corpse intertwined for all eternity, their bones holding each other forever and ever.

"SO ROMANTIC!" Enid's voice broke Wednesday's trance as she stopped tipping and noticed her roommate was on her bed…reading her work.

"How did you get that?" Wednesday said, trying to hide her panicked tone.

"You tossed it on my bed!" Enid said and gestured to the room which was covered in pages and pages of Viper's thoughts on Godrick. Wednesday immediately moved to quickly gather the pages and toss them into the fire but Enid grabbed her hand stopping her.

"Wait! Why are you throwing it away?"

"It's smut!"

"No, it's not! It's good, it's romance! Come on, what's so bad about Viper getting a love interest? I mean if anyone deserves it it's her, especially how hard she worked in the previous two books."

"You read my work?"

"Yeah, the they are good. Completely mad but good. You should keep this."

"It's nothing like my previous work."

"Isn't that a good thing? Don't writers evolve and change over times?"

"I hate it when you use that rainbow you call a brain."

"Ah, I love you too roomie. So, tell me about this Godrick?" Enid said with a smile that made Wednesday want to both throw up and be grateful to Enid.

"He is different from Vipera, once could even consider him normal to her uniqueness. But when Vipera threatens him with pain and suffering he laughs it off since he knows that it's Vipera's way of interacting with people and that if she really wanted him dead then Godrick would be killed by her quickly, without him seeing it coming." Wednesday said and Enid grinned as she asked more questions about the character.

That was before their assignments in Jericho during Outreach Day where she was had switched places with Enid and she currently was investigating Pilgrim World and as she told the true history of fudge and drove away a few German tourists Lucas came in with Xavier in tow.

And both were dressed in star trek shirts.

"Well, Mr Spock it appears that this planet is not truly devoid of intelligent life." Lucas.

"I concur Captain." Xavier said breaking his Vulcan routine as he grinned at Wednesday in her pilgrim getup.

"Explain." Wednesday said.

"This? Oh, I told the Principal about how some dress as Star Trek characters and go to historical events and she liked it, said it would be trendy and modern and show that Nevermore have a sense of humor." Lucas said.

"She loved the fact stick it to the Mayor and Pilgrim World." Xavier replied.

"She loved both ideas, ugh…..why do I even bother with any of you? Especially you Lucas, I should just kill you so as to not tolerate your idiocies." Wednesday said to him.

"Ah Diana, you can threaten me as much as you want, I know it's just your way of talking to people. If you really wanted me dead then you'd do it without me seeing it coming and I'd be dead before I'd realize what's happening." Lucas said and took a piece of fudge from her tray and then left to look at the other items in the store.

Wednesday became paralyzed at that…..Vipera…Godrick….oh no…this wasn't happening.

"Wednesday? You good or bad or whatever it is that passes for fine?" Xavier asked as he waved a finger in front of her eyes.

"I require your assistance."

"Really?"

"Yes, how….how does one….court a boy?"

"Wait…. you're asking me how to date a guy? Did you and Lucas breakup?" Xavier asked in confusion and a bit of hurt.

"No, we are not together."

"Wait a minute, you mean neither of you are dating each other after the way you interact?" Xavier said in surprise and Wednesday gave a hesitant node.

"I have no idea why I am about to do this but….look. Just spend time with the guy and wing it from there. You cap come and keep an eye on her so she doesn't murder anyone." Xavier said and Lucas returned and Xavier left.

As he did so Xavier gave one last look at the two before shaking his head and touching the Star Trek insignia on his shirt. "First officers log, redaction, there truly is no intelligent life on this planet and apparently the captain also doesn't have a brain. Ugh…..Bianca…..now Wednesday, I sure know who to chase after." Xavier said as he thought that he should go for a girl who wasn't a leader like the previous two, maybe Yoko Tanaka? So, he left the pair alone as Wednesday continued to investigate who was Taylor's mysterious master and the link with Crackstone so as to prematurely trigger the prophecy.

While doing so she would decide if she truly wanted to kill or kiss Lucas.

Perhaps she'd do both.

And why did it sound like he'd enjoy that?

xxxxxxxxxx

Latter in the evening Lucas was back in his dorm room and he decided that after following Wednesday and her visions of the past with what Crackstone did to the outcasts in the past that I'd be time to get ready for a rumble so he took out his collection of weapons from his grandfather and sharpen them.

"Come to think of it maybe this is why so many roommates jumped ship, who wants to sleep in the room with the guy who was like twenty medieval flails, right Ajax? Ajax, buddy?" Lucas said as he moved to find his roommate and he found him stoned in the bathroom.

"Dude, seriously and you said you had a date tonight. Ugh…" Lucas said and put on his coat and went to where Ajax had told him he had a date with Enid. Ten minutes latter he brought Enid to their dorm room and she rushed to Ajax who was still stoned but was able to move enough that Lucas managed to move him to a couch.

"Oh no! Poor Ajax!"

"Yeah…..why don't you nurse him back to health? I'm sure he'd appreciate that." Lucas said and gave Enid a wink.

Enid immediately had to restrained herself from squealing with glee as she rushed to put a moist towel over Ajax's forehead.

"Sorry…..for missing the date."

"It's okay." Enid said with a smile.

As that suddenly the lights.

"Oh, look at that, it appears the lights have suddenly gone out. Good thing Ajax had these candles and snacks on hand." Lucas said as he brought from his own stash of candles and snacks and made a romantic mood for the two.

Ajax gave him a thumbs up and mouther a 'thank you'.

"Well I'd best go and get some new lightbulbs." Lucas said and moved to leave.

"Thank you!" Enid said to him as she escorted him out of the room.

"Ah, two fools in love, how can anyone be this stupid in a relationship."

"I agree!"

"WHOA! Wednesday, you almost gave me a heart attack."

"I must be losing my touch. But in regards to your previous statement I concur that when it comes to romance it makes fools of us all."

"Careful Diana, you're stepping into Venus's territory." Lucas teased.

"Do not presume to question the will of a goddess Endymion, we do not like to be told what to do." Wednesday shot back.

"Is that a threat?"

"A big one. You have no idea what the suffering I can inflict upon thee."

"Yeah, before you go medieval on my ass want to get some late-night hot chocolate?"

"Of course." Wednesday said and off they went, as they did so Wednesday made sure to stay closer to him than usual and to brush she shoulder against his a few times in order to mark him with her scent and to show other that this was her territory.

She would have to send Xavier a thank you present, perhaps some fresh cyanide, that always worked with Uncle Fester as a gift.
