Obliterate the World While We Watch

It's not that Quentin is hopeless or anything like that, because he's definitely not thank you very much. But he is—you know—kind of helpless.

He's soft and all curled up and awkward and it's almost natural for others to want to protect him because, God—he just always looks like he's one strong gust of wind away from crumpling into nothing. It's exhausting to watch sometimes, and painful—Alice dated him, she knows.

She understand more than anybody that most of Quentin's personality is being super awkward and very sad. Sometimes it gets a bit much. And it's not Quentin's fault, like at all, but it's still exhausting and heart breaking and Alice is so strong willed that she sometimes couldn't take Quentin, couldn't be what Quentin wanted—she won't admit it to anyone, but breaking up was low-key a relief for her.

So, of fucking course, she's going to lose her shit just a little bit when she finds out that awkward, sad boy Quentin Coldwater is banging, not just one social delinquent, but, two. Alice doesn't mind it so much, really, she's over the shock of it now and is okay with just being friends with Quentin and talking about his new weird relationship with both Kady and Penny—and boy had that been a shocker for everyone else, too—but it's still something, watching the three of them together.

They're at a bonfire thing right now. Eliot and Margo put it together for all of them, a little 'Congrats to us, we survived yet another event that could've completely obliterated us, yay for us' thing. There's good food and better alcohol and Alice has drunk enough to make her feel warm and tingly—the wine's gone straight to her head and some of it is settling somewhere south. Which is, maybe, just a little bit, why she's watching the KadyQuentinPenny sandwich so intently at this very moment.

They're making out, the three of them, not a care in the world about their audience. Quentin is curled up between them, Kady's hands gently running through his hair. He's the most relaxed Alice has ever seen him, but the same could be said about Penny and Kady. It's almost jarring. Penny and Kady are all fight no flight, but seeing them with Quentin is an experience. They smile more softly, look less likely to fight anyone. They laugh, too, more carefreely. But only with him, always just with him. Alice knows that this is only reserved for Quentin, knows that should he leave right now they'll scowl at everyone and threaten them without words. Their softness only extends to Quentin and Quentin alone. Alice is actually fine with that, because Quentin deserves to be treated softly, and carefully, especially by people who so clearly treat everyone else with just open and obvious hostility.

Quentin whines, and a blush creeps up from his neck all the way to his forehead. Kady and Penny laugh, but there's nothing malicious about it, and by the way they're looking at Quentin, they're seriously enjoying this, taking pleasure in it. They don't care that they're being watched, because they don't care about anyone else but the boy between them.

Kady's straddling him shamelessly, leaving bright marks on his neck as she goes. Penny's behind Quentin, an arm wrapped around Quentin's middle and the other somewhere between Kady and Quentin's legs—both are moaning rather appreciatively so Alice can't actually be sure who Penny's touching right now—maybe alternating between touching them both, Alice thinks.

"God, Penny," Quentin whines and bucks up and, well, that answers that question. Kady whispers something in Quentin's ear and he huffs out an embarrassed laugh that quickly turns to another moan when Kady rolls her hips. She's kissing him again, hungrily, pulling at Quentin's hair, and Penny's leaving bites at the back of his neck, and his hand is still working between Quentin and Kady.

It shouldn't be this hot, Alice thinks. But it is, and Alice subtly crosses her legs and looks away. But it's kind of hard to pretend that that isn't happening because Quentin is so loud and Penny and Kady seem to be taking a lot of pleasure in hearing him respond.

The bonfire crackles on. Alice tries to keep her attention on their other friends, but nobody is trying to keep a conversation going. Everyone is mostly watching the show—because Kady and Quentin and Penny seem to be enjoying giving the show, because Kady and Penny would've already told everyone to fuck off if they hadn't wanted this, because Penny and Kady would never have done this if Quentin wasn't totally okay with it, because they love Quentin that much.

"You wanna get out of here?" Penny whispers against Quentin's hair.

"Hwhuh?" Quentin asks breathlessly, because he's not really with-it anymore.

"Do you want to get out of here?" Penny asks again, slower. His hand hasn't stopped moving though and Kady is still kissing his neck and Quentin is letting out cute little whines that Alice never got. She isn't jealous of this, of them, and if the looks Margo and Eliot—especially Eliot—are giving, then neither are they. They're all happy really, glad that Quentin has found someone—two someones—who want him, like this, who'll obliterate the world for him in a way that Alice and Eliot probably never would've been able to.

"I'm— —" Quentin gasps, pushing his hips up. His words die out. Alice can see his hands, holding on tightly to Kady's hips, probably leaving bruises. "Fuck," he says, breathless.

"I'd like to fuck you now," Penny whispers, though it's easy to hear from where Alice is sitting. She doesn't think they even want to be quiet, really, because apparently they like giving a show. And she's not complaining, nobody is complaining.

"Um, ditto," Kady says between kisses and bites. Her hand seems to have joined Penny's because Quentin breathlessly gasps her name.

"Okay," Quentin says finally, blinking rapidly, "okay, okay. Let's go, let's go!"

Kady laughs, again, nothing malicious, more pleased, and faster than Alice can blink, Penny Travels them away.

"Well then," Margo says after a stretch of silence. Alice blinks, picks up her drink and gulps it down, already booking an appointment with her vibrator.

END!

This one has been sitting in the drafts folder for a while, and mostly because I wasn't sure about a few things. But I felt a bit of inspiration and like the few fixes, so here it is.
