D3: The Mighty Ducks Re-Imagined
Warnings: This is going to be a re-imagining of D3: the Mighty Ducks as Charlie meets Orion at the start of the summer, as their lives are fused together. As they prepare for what their future brings now, and as Charlie learns the truth. And this soon, that Orion is his real father and he has a life outside of the team.
This is also going to leave out the tv show, so an alternate reality story. But the other clip to this is going to show a few situations of Orion's coming into the picture, just before Charlie chose him as their back up coach.

Chapter 2: The Revelations And Coach Orion
A little while later came the a gentle talk between them. "The school looks stuffy, but we'll loosen it up. Huh, Coach?" he said and knowing this wasn't going to go over well, he said it gently. "I'm not gonna be your coach this year, Charlie." he said and Charlie said it gently. "Yeah, very funny." he said with a bemused smile then and he explained it. "I just got the official word: The Junior Goodwill Games Committee has named me Director of Player Personnel now."
"I'm gonna be in charge of their junior hockey program worldwide." he said and Charlie said it in shock. "Well, don't go." he said and he said it gently. "Charlie, I can't pass up this opportunity." he said and Charlie said it. "Who's the Coach exactly?" he asked and he smiled. "You just spoke to him actually, I chose Ted." he said and Charlie smiled at that. "This I can take now, though you're dropping in to check on us, you chose a Coach just like you, but the next stage up now."
"We'll be fine, as for the duo, it's going to get nasty later now, if they get in trouble and…., and dad finds out what they did now in truth. But everything in coach is paraphrase as father now, if he is mine, you returned me to my father I get to play for him now. But you're my godfather, so if you're his version of Adam, you know what Adam and I are like together. We're going to miss you, but knowing in advance, I can take that easily, if you told this to Peter the response is."
"And after they nearly destroyed us 4 years ago, but then I need to switch a few things around." he said and Gordon nodded smiling as Charlie hugged him and he tightened his arms, watching from his position, the team's parents and their new coach smiled. In knowing what they were talking about. "He just told him now, I'm your new Coach guys, and he's fine with it right now, connecting to me this fast just saved us 2 months worth of worry here right now in truth now."
"But like you said Guy, this, in meeting me this soon, you can handle and even better getting to know me this summer takes away the first 6 weeks of growing pains in being a new team." he said and the team nodded in agreement, as they watched him with Gordon gently. "But to say this as he thinking, sterner coach, a Coach we don't even know. 'But you can pass us up, right? I mean, you dump us in some stupid school and now..." he said to him then at that desperately.
In faking the desperate tone in his voice. "I'm not dumping you anywhere, Eden Hall is a great chance for you, Peter, I will always..." he started to say and Charlie pretended to be Peter Marks in the next one. "Coach, please..., please don't go." he said and he said it. " Peter, I know it's hard, I understand what you're going thr..." he started to say and he interrupted him in anger. "No, no, no, you don't understand, you obviously don't even have a clue." he said and ended it.
"Coach, before you leave we need to meet our new coach personally, so we can get a feel for his training strategy." Charlie said to him and he nodded. "Ted!" he shouted and a man walked over to him then. "So you're our new Coach, this is great right now, Coach, I'm Captain Charlie Conway, leader of the team." he said and he shook his hand. "Nice to meet you son, wait a second, you look familiar." he said and Charlie smiled as he pulled a photo out then gently.
"I looked like this as a 10 year old." he said, passing him a picture of himself and Casey then and he looked at the picture and smiled. "So you're the 10 year old I saw, you froze up and locked gazes with me, before the kid in the leather jacket said to run." he said and Charlie nodded. "I am, I heard a shout to freeze to me and Averman, or Lester with you being our new Coach now, but I saw a man dressed in a red winter jacket with two letters on his sweater."
"But question, I saw a picture of me, with my mother and a man, said doesn't look like Rick Conway." he said and passed him his baby photo and he took a look and smiled. "Son, that's me when we and your mother were 20." he said and he smiled in delight. "So you're that man, I heard that again, your voice was father to son, and I nearly froze up. When you called out to me, and again after Larson and McGill jumped us." he said and he smiled at the revelation.
"I am, before you locked gazes with me when I saw you dressed in your new jerseys and uniforms as peewee players, son." he said and Charlie nodded and Gordon smiled at the reveal. "Remember how they turned your words around, Coach?" he asked and Gordon nodded. "Said stunt and your words to them took on a whole new meaning here, they're one car accident. And away from ending up in the reformatory and Juvenile Hall." he said and he crossed his arms.
"I don't know which title to use now here, but what's your opinion to Adam being added to the team when we got 2 and now 3 girls on the team?" he asked and he crossed his arms. "Fulton should be protecting the girls while Adam helps you with the shooting, and till we get a back up. Or in this case we got him his code name set up right now, as your parents, or coach, we got to make decisions you don't always agree with, but are forced to accept regardless, so that's it."
"That's what got them kicked off the team, let me guess Lester had no choice, he doesn't they say you and him had a hand in that sick joke?" he asked and Charlie nodded. "Yep, but we had a witness, two if you're the red SUV, but we had no idea what he was going to do with that purse. Or the dog, but that's not the first time he ever used that prank, the other is the halloween candy prank with the Easter candy, candy cordials." he said and he nodded sternly to that news.
"And this keeps up, I'm the parole officer, but with me I never let you guys out of my sight." the man said gently and he smiled. "With the 17 of us you got an easy time, but we did a number on him, that being a father already, you gained 16 more. And that's if you're my biological father, so a teenage son, and 16 more adoptive children. Especially if the sextet are the children of your friends, Coach." he said and the man smiled gently as his boss smiled at their talk then.
'Thank god they had a chance to talk, instead of meeting on the first day of school.' he thought smiling as he exchanged smiles with Gordon. "But the single brainiac in the team is Les' in truth here, but the 11 of us are bonded like family, before adding the sextet now. Having a chance to get to know you all summer, you me and even without the C, I can do this. But Peter's been out commission so long here, he can't match my training, not when the team will follow me here."
"And right into the flames, to put this bluntly, I'm Austin, before he retired." he said and Orion smiled gently at that. "So when he returns as the whatever color ranger, Jason is the Red Zeo, and whoever, if they reactivated the green rangers is this brat. Till Russ says your orders and lays into him before the fight, or game's about to start, okay. That helps right now, but you're my cub troops, son, been training you so long, this will work." he said and said with a smile.
"With you in truth, there was a matter of being slightly lenient, but with my being a parent, I parent you like I parent your sister. But knowing who your mother is here, I'm the father and adoptive to a bunch of teenagers, but I'm a Duck. You're my ducklings, so though teenage Ducks in your eyes, you're starting to grow in your feathers. Now in mine, so still ducklings, but rather then regular Pekins, I think we're jumbos here, but the attitude here now in truth."
"It's I hear the attitude you would have given me and Peterson is about to, day in and day out, I can actually get some progress with you. As you learn my version of hockey, with being a pro player, I'm doing areas that they never catch in the peewees, but do in high school." he said and Charlie smiled. "Right inside the system we're your responsibility, but attachment, watch it with that, before your players grow too attached." he said and he chuckled and nodded smiling then.
"So you know about Peter and Karp huh, well that shouldn't surprise me, whatever Uncle Phil told you all true, hearing Adam was coming along, they bailed. As I rounded up the 7, Terry was going with his father, and the Duncans had a skating contest that month, so just us 13. And before we added Russ." he said and Coach Ted Orion nodded smiling. "Last season for us was last year, before you took us on now, but this should be interesting." he said and he nodded.
"If we met sooner then this, I would do your next two in the peewees, then after Wilson took them on, I had all the time in the world to spend on your guys. In getting you ready for this, as I got you up to Jared's stage, then this year I get you up to pro now." he said and Charlie nodded. "Tell me about it, but getting to know you all summer, this helps severely, as we bond tightly, and these imbeciles are having their heads handed to them." he said and Orion chuckled.
"In your case that's a given, but you look like me at 14 son, and with that in mind, Casey Jacobs, Casey, it's me, it's me!" he called out to her at that gently then she turned and moved to them. "Casey remember, you didn't want me to give it up, but I did 5 years ago, my daughter, his younger sister, was injured in a car accident, I retired back then. But knowing who I'm looking at as Charlie looks like me at 14, but 16 years here." he said and she smiled in delight.
As she hugged him tightly and he smiled as he pressed his forehead to her's. "Yeah I missed you to honey, but our talk, I quit anyway after the car accident in truth. His sister was injured in T-bone, damaging her back, the team left I stayed here, and good thing to. But Daniel was here as is her entire grouping of friends, who would have been Gordon's next team incoming. But finding the team, I never made an easier choice, I see my son everyday now." he said and she smiled.
"Son, I'm your son, I kept hearing advice being called from the bleachers, and we used that without thinking twice, during the 2 years we were separated. And from the coach, before he finished up and passed us to you next, you're that voice. So you been tutoring us as a player all this time, we got this good in record time for the tournament. Before after school practice in the peewees, now we have you full time!" Charlie said smiling and she smiled in relief at that news.
"Ted Orion, I never thought I'd ever see you again, Gordon, you couldn't have made a better choice, just changing father ducks, but in his case. Well that's literal, he's my college age boyfriend, I didn't want him to give it up." She said and he chuckled at that and reveal. "So my best friend is your ex boyfriend or…" he asked and they smiled. "Husband, we got married at 18, had him at 20, but like any once in a lifetime didn't want him to give him it up, 2 families now."
"Charlie, baby, Ted's your biological father, Richard was your adoptive, but he hates hockey, you got your love for it from Ted, like you, been playing since he was 9." she said and he nodded in shock. "Oh boy are you idiots going to get it for that insult, this goes back to said detention!" he said and she crossed her arms. "What they do if the entire team ended up in detention." she asked and he said it. "Thought it was a quid pro quo, mom." he said and they nodded sternly.
"It was about you and the coach, in why you chose me to be the captain, or why, in truth here now, why we were growing closer, teacher's pet, captain's pet. To put this bluntly, it's this, Season 2, and why Wes got sick in the first place." he said and Orion crossed his arms. "We were just friends and starting to grow into relationship, but you saw me as a father. But you're acting like a good team captain to his coach, and they credited that to something inappropriate."
"As in the sexual sense, Captain?" Gordon said sternly and he nodded. "Yeah this goes back to the reprimand you gave for Dean's implication, but Dean is Peter, just a year older." he said to him and he nodded at the insult. "Great then that means Russel is Karp." Orion said sternly to the news. "Yeah the trio are the Duncans and Terry, Dwayne is Adam." he told him and they nodded. "Once is enough, but anyone mutinies, you're deactivated." Orion said to him at that.
"Dad, I can handle this, we spend all summer getting to know each other, but more then my father, you're my mentor." he said and he smiled gently at that. "Good point, but this 'all for one and one for all' catch, anyone shares whoever's opinion gets the box. But with me it's the box is like me sending you to your room now, you're agreeing with me, your father. Or godfather in Gordon's case, nothing's wrong with that, or is this because we're Hawks." he said to him gently.
"You too?" he asked and he nodded. "That's why you never saw me on the team at the game that day, retired the year before, but Minneapolis North Stars. As a result your sister was injured, that's why I retired, but was Marks eavesdropping on the conversation. If there was a mutiny, and they called you a traitor, because you sided with your godfather and me?" he asked and he nodded. "Well he raises his voice at me, it's a time out." he said and Charlie nodded.
"Great, sending me or whoever to the box, I feel like I'm 10 years old again, sent to my room, and with you that's doubly clear now, you're my father." he said and she hid a chuckle at that. "Serving time out in the middle of the game, that's so embarrassing right now, but this was why we got put in detention, not for getting cheeky with the principal. But he insulted your honor and I lost it mom, Coach." he said and she crossed his arms as Gordon answered him at that.
"Like I said, what I do in my off time life is none of your concern, but that just clipped your wings, Karp." he said sternly at the news. "I know, but it was an implication, and seeing red I slammed him into the wall, before Connie tried to break it up." he said and his father nodded. "Not that I blame you for that reaction, but why not tell us what caused that, as they get cut. And you have me holding Gordon's place exactly?" he asked and he sighed as he answered.
"If I met you sooner then today, I would have told you this sooner, but we, that's Averman and me, had no idea what he intended to with that purse. That's if you were the cherry red SUV that pulled in, but first this, then they call me a traitor. And for siding with the coach, if he's my godfather and then said implication…, dad." he said and they nodded. "That brat needs to have his mouth cleaned out with a wire brush, that's beyond crude." he said sternly to that reveal.
"Dad?!" Charlie said in shock and he nodded. "I never saw this coming, so my father is a pro hockey player, retired, but still a pro, yeah we can learn a lot from you. So summer training and we bond to you, before the school starts next season. So five years, but if I knew this 4 years ago, I would have, from 9 to 18, once Coach passed us to you, I'd want to play for you, instead of close call repeated wins, and getting in because of said athletic, do it the way you taught us."
"But we can spend all summer in training, as we get used to your training, but I see it here clearly, you're just like him, just the next stage up." he said and Orion smiled gently at that. "I'm an 8th grade to high school level coach, son, as you advance you hear that tone a lot, till it becomes so normal you become used to it and to you, means papa bear here now." he said and Charlie nodded smiling gently. "So you know the sextet's parents?" he asked and Orion nodded.
"Wait, us as your team, I carried it for years, but…, yeah okay." he said and took the C off his shoulder and gave it to Orion then and he smiled at that response. "Training to go without it now, I can do this, the team will listen, no questions asked here, but new strategy. We're showing off for two periods, let them get a few shots in then finish out strong. Makes the game more fun this way, but no higher then 5." he said and Casey chuckled at the suggestion then.
"Alright we do that right now, but zero or no more then 5 now, we're going to destroy these guys, once I complete your training, son." he said and they smiled then, as he ran his hand through the hair at the back of his head gently and he smiled. And as he pressed his forehead to his. 'Dad, my dad, I have a father, my new mentor, coach, Coach, father, best friend, my mentor, Coach is gone, but I have dad, I'll be okay now, I have dad.' he thought softly, happily at this.
"But Jason, Rick, Dave, Claire and Joey, yeah I do, but you guys look like me and the quintet, but in your case this is code for, in father, if I catch you guys in a fight. And with those brats, said being Adam's brother's team, 'alright guys, calm down all of you calm down, that's enough.' But son, your brother's big brother was my previous team." he said and Banks covered his eyes. "Jared, your brother has your J.V. coach now." he said and he tried to keep from laughing then.
"Oh great, here it comes, but what these idiots refused to, now goes into full swing with Adam and his friends at the moment. But you idiots really should have listened to him sooner, they take what he tried to teach you. And they're going to wipe the floor with you at the showdown now." he said and she started laughing at that. "So we got your old coach Jared, well this should be interesting right now, you're going on 18, we're 14 to 15." Tammy Duncan said to that news.
"Well Scooter and I conformed to his training, we're not like these idiots, but the whole 'Not worth winning, if you can win big' catch is the key here, if they say we're the only hockey team. Reason is you see that attitude in the peewees, it's over, guys, but not quite, another showdown." he said and they nodded. "Uh oh, that can't be good if he's saying that right now, but who are these guys exactly." Russ Tyler said and and Charlie looked at his team then firmly.
"Who exactly?" Terry Hall asked and he pointed at the 24 and the 10 looked at them. "Oh my god, that's the Hawks!" Tammy Duncan said in shock. "It can't be, they're the Varsity!" Terry's brother Jesse said and Adam crossed his arms. "That's my brother's team guys, Jared too was a Hawk, but if they never took what our new coach was teaching them and we do. We're wiping the rink floor with these idiots." he said and the 10 crossed their arms and Charlie nodded then.
"Running on a guess, before this results in a case of hazing now, and the board leader…., what's his name?" Adam asked and Dean Buckley said it. "Thomas Riley." he said and they nodded. "So the Rileys huh, as in Jackson and Tim Riley?" he asked and Buckley nodded. "Charlie, we got a grudge match, vultures coming in at the gate, peewee 1992, after they laid me out!" Adam called out and he turned and saw 24 teenagers at that with a beyond recognizable symbol.
"Whoa, oh I know what this is about, if they try to revoke our scholarships, oh boys, Tammy, looks who's here guys, Coach!" Connie shouted and Gordon turned and saw their version with his ex coach, turned rival and crossed his arms. "Ted, Reilly's here, it's chapter 3, Ralph's movie now." he said and Coach Ted Orion nodded sternly. "And my son is playing the part of Daniel Larusso, were it not for the fact your training, said is getting a few added pointers to it now."
"But said egg metaphor and Charlie and I are going on the same wave length in 2-way hockey now, but Adam, we got company, Reilly just showed up son." he called out and the 10 turned and crossed their arms sternly. "We got a grudge match guys, chapter 3, The Karate Kid, only Charlie's playing the part of Daniel, after realizing he been tricked by Kreese." Adam said and the 10 crossed their arms as they looked at their hometown rivals, as the sextet nodded.
"So you know these guys?" Julie Gaffney asked and the 10 nodded sternly. "They're the local version of the Vikings, Cat, but though they're good, we're better. Because we never held onto what our previous taught us, but looks like our new coach is…, oh my god. Guys, guys look, age Charlie 20 years, who do you see." Connie Monroe said and the quintet looked and smiled then. "We're being trained by Charlie's biological father, awesome!" Lester Averman said at that news.
"They just figured it out, they can't wait, dad." Charlie said and he smiled at the news. "Never needed to hear the words, just put you next to me and age you 20 years, it's easy to see it. Yes alright now this makes more sense at the moment, the sextet don't know who the 24 are. But the 11 of you do and Adam just revealed the truth, they're Jared team, but now the J.V.. Said is none other then the other Banks in the family, and his best friend and their team right now."
"But if they never took my training and you do, and you're going to wipe the floor with these hotshots." Orion said and he nodded sternly as he leaned against his shoulder at that, and the 24 all paled at that response, realizing he was connecting to their ex coach then beyond quickly. And Charlie had removed his C without any arguing. "Yeah they're getting scared now, realizing something is very wrong here, they don't realize you're like me, Ted." he said and then said it.
"Guys, Connie, we were right, the title is real, the Coach is my biological, my real name is Charlie Theodore Orion!" he shouted out and the 16 nodded as their parents looked from him to Orion and smiled in delight at that. "Like his father labeled it, him, Gordon, me, Claire, David, Joey and Rick, to you guys, kids, that's Charlie, you Jesse, Connie, Lester, Adam, Greg and Guy. You guys are us in everything that counts." Jesse's father said and they crossed their arms.
"Oh you couldn't have picked a better time then that to tell us here, so we walked right into his father, and these brats that just arrived are the Varsity's younger brother's. So like Charlie would say, we got two problems and the second is possibly his rival." Russ's father said smiling sternly and Jason Hall nodded crossing his arms. "Like I said, if we get those little reprobates back on the team, at first only I could control them, and now I got help." he said and they nodded then.
"Phil, would this be connected to what you told me here, Adam's brother was a Hawk, his friends are all Hawks, it's this, but Ted was trying to teach them pro hockey, deprogramming. But never worked and he gets better results with Adam and Charlie!" Gordon shouted out at that and Philip Banks nodded gently and the 10 straightened at that news. "Hoping for better results with us, but they dragged along their Hawks training, and you were trying to break the brainwashing."
"But no go, but they were 6.5 years Hawks from the time they were 10, we grew up Ducks, but our black belts, if we were Karate experts now, are adding the stripes to them." Tommy Duncan shouted from across the yard and Orion nodded and Charlie crossed his arms. "Dad, were you hoping for better results, because these guys dragged along their training. From the peewees, what they were conditioned with by their previous coach?" he asked and Orion nodded sternly.
"I know the conditioning, because I suffered through it, like Gordon did son, but yanking free I turned into a Duck and became who I am as a result. But seeing you as you are, I see an easy interesting coaching catch, you're not closed to everything I have to teach you." he said and Charlie nodded smiling. "Pop quiz then?" he suggested and Orion nodded. "Where is the one place you never want to clear the puck?" he asked and he smiled as he answered him then.
"That's right behind the goal itself, on both sides or directly behind it, otherwise there could be a pile up and someone could get hurt if the gloves are not on and all the way here. And to answer the other question if Peter has you so ticked you throw the puck at the bulletin board. It takes less then a second to score that goal, that means there is no lead that is safe, if you don't. Now play defense, and we're keeping it on a straight shut out or up to 5, starting now in truth."
"But doesn't matter how many we make, the only number is 0, to 5, as in total shut out, but he's a dead man if he blows our image, in front of the entire school now." he said and Orion smiled proudly. "Yeah this will work, you understand, adapt and now you're a teenage to pre college age duck, taking what I suggest and we knock them out of the rink. But dead duck walking gentlemen, while you refused to conform, the Ducks will." he said and he saw them.
As Charlie saw a group of 25 18 years olds dressed in varsity jackets, over their school uniforms and he crossed his arms, now seeing it for what it was. "That's Jared's team, he and Scooter always considered the duo jerks, saying Riley and Cole this or Riley and Cole that. What were these idiots doing if you're ready to get that physical with these idiots. Because he touches Connie, she's going to hammer him into the rink, before we do the rest and leave you."
"With the left overs here?" he said and he crossed his arms. "Despite saying stay clear of the toxic chemicals, they still won't, that we have to arrest these brats 50 times in 3 years. But I'm a mixture of Riker and his gold uniformed counterpart, the gold fighting it out. And with the red during the bar brawl in that episode, but that kid looked no older then 23. The gold was like us and your mother, Gordon and me are 34, bordering 35." he said sternly and he nodded then.
"Mom, do you and the coach see what I see with his team with their helmets off." Charlie said and she nodded. "Derek Cole, Tim Riley, Clark Patterson, Philip Brown, Jerome Larson and Daniel McGill." Orion said and he nodded. "Their brothers are Jackson Riley, Anthony Cole, Jake Brown, Alexander Patterson, Jason McGill and Christopher Larson. That's the current Hawks starting line up, both age groups, but Jared and Adam are Ducks." he said and he nodded then.
"And even tribes turn on each other, but one year separation, is plenty, with you better results." he said sternly to him. "Way better, but the eggs we were in learning a case of soft karate, by sending the puck gently at each other. The first got shot a little too hard and covered his sweater in yolk." he said and Orion nodded. "Well there was a double standard son, but think about it, what is our breed bred for?" he asked and he nodded. "Ew." he said in disgust then.
"Alright that's it, I'm never eating duck again!" they heard in response and he nodded sternly. "I know and no kidding, our breed is bred for food and we're eatable poultry here now. But I think rather then a normal sized one, we're…" Charlie said and his eyes landed on full sized one, who looked at him with a gentle smile in his eyes and he gave a 'hello' quack to him and he smiled then. "Hey Donald, nice to meet you." he said and he gave a second quack gently at that.
"Was that your duckling that was standing next to my mother?" he asked and he gave a 'yes' quack. "Decided to designate yourselves our mascot, huh, we never changed, since we became humanoid Pekins in our district, our side of the farm. But seeing you up close, I know this was you're the leader of the flock, well my father duck. Is a fully adult Pekin, I'm still growing my wings in, and I'm turning white right now, my flock with me." he said and smiled as he said it.
"You mind?" he asked and he gave a fourth gently and waddled over for a pet and he ran his hand through his back feathers. "Lord 15% bigger then a normal Pekin, your breed are what us human ducks call a jumbo Pekin. But you're double the size of your smaller counterpart, making your eggs the size of goose eggs now." he said and he gave a gentle quack to that reveal. "Yeah metaphor with the eggs, we're ducklings playing black circle, and that's a strategy for said."
"Defense practice in black circle, my papa duck, looking like big me, is a retired pro duck of black circle, I'm his teenage duckling self now. My duckling flock are my friends, but your name, what I just called you is the name of your animated counterpart. He dresses in blue with a red scarf around the neck and a blue beret cap on the head. But if he was real then animated, he's looking just like you, so Donald Duck." he said and he gave a quack of understanding then.
"The name Donald okay, boy?" Orion asked and he gave a quack with a smile in the tone. "I'll take that for a yes and you boy, are very handsome." Casey said and he gave a gentle quack to the compliment. "That's a thank you, so this is you full size then, you're double the size of a normal Pekin, so if this is you full size, how big are your ducklings?" Charlie asked and he gave a quack and nodded to the group on the far side of the lawn and he saw a gosling sized duckling.
As he saw him with his feathers puffed out and saw a glistening on his back feathers and nodded gently as he gently stroked his back and down his neck. 'Yeah he fluffed right now, water cold and fluffed out his feathers to dry out.' he thought smiling as he said it. "He went for a dip and the water is still freezing up here, that he immediately fluffed to dry out and warm up." he said and his parents nodded with a chuckle. "Yeah like I would after a swim." Orion said with a smile.
"Just came from the lake huh, no wonder you fluffed, the water is still cold enough us human ducklings can't swim, to us too cold, so we wait for it to get warmer." He said smiling and he gave a quack. "Fluffed?" a little girl rolling over to them said gently. "After a swim in cold weather, they puff out their feathers to stay warm, we maybe in the end of March. But the water is still pretty cold here, so after coming out of it, he fluffed out." he said and she nodded then.
"He's huge." a little girl said and he smiled. "A jumbo Pekin, we're jumbo Pekins in human form baby, want to get rough, we're great swimmers and good at dodging the attacks. If that's a full sized one, where is…" he started to say and saw a bunch of ducklings crowded around a slightly smaller then the one that greeted him and he smiled. "That's us now, mom, dad, but you're the den mother of the team, we get Ms. Mckay back involved and Uncle Eric we're good to go here."
"Hey boy, that your wife and family." he said and he turned to look at the other full sized one and the ducklings and he bobbed his head as he gave a 'yes' quack gently. As one of them gave a peep to Charlie, and started waddling closer. "Huey?" he asked and he gave a peep. "Alright you little fluffball, come on." he said and he gave a happy peep, and waddled over. "Yeah that says he thinks you're his human, he likes you." Gordon said with a smile as they watched him.
As he waddled over to them. "I'm his duckling counterpart, well Huey's a good name now, I like red." he said and she chuckled at that remark. "Cute little guy, he's adorable." Orion's wife said and she nodded smiling in agreement then. "Rex or Huey actually son, but Rex, that's Latin for King now, you're the very concept of what it means to be a true leader. Peterson never gained the maturity or the wisdom that comes with the position, you have now, as for Huey there."
"He's your's evidently, he chose you, but pet him and he likes it so much, he wanted to be petted every time he sees you." Orion said with a chuckle then. "Hey guys, new strategy in defense, remember said egg metaphor, if not fertilized, well the strategy just shifted. Two way hockey, our said training puck is the egg now, baby out of the basket." he called out and the 8 nodded to him gently at that news, knowing what he was telling him then at that news then.
"Guys, we're Pekins alright, but we're jumbos." he said and they nodded. "Father duck is a full sized one, we're ducklings growing our feathers in." she said in response gently and he nodded smiling. "Explains the reason our jerseys are now white, we're growing our feathers in, and our wings, time to take flight this school term, guys!" he called out and the 16 nodded smiling. "The Warriors die and the Ducks fly, Hawks!" he shouted out and the college group all paled at that.
"Hey guys, look who came for the ceremony?" he said and the team saw a family of Pekin ducks and everyone started laughing. "There we go, we're part of their flock and one of their own gets into, to them, red rock school, the others are coming with." his adopted sister said laughing at that and Orion nodded with a chuckle. "Let me try something." Gordon said as he pulled his whistle. "Quack!" he said through it and the Ducklings said it. "Peep." they all said together.
As the adult male nodded with a smile in his eyes. "My ducklings are no older then your sister was when you got found Duckling, but your down is fading and you're turning white now." he said with a quack and the team nodded. "So we're nearly there, if this is how big you get, is it 1 to 2 months to be fully grown?" he asked and he said it gently. "We reach full size, as our breed in 7 months, you, from the look of you, are 3.5 months." he said then with a quack then gently.
"So 3.5 months, that's 14 in human duck terming, we're full size by the time we reach college." Orion said to translate and he gave a 'yes' quack. "Then I'm your age boy, he's my duckling, and the rest of our flock are the other Ducklings he was talking to. But we're our own family flock, as the others have families of their own, but more then a flock now. If you see them dressed in these feathers, we play black circle." he said to him and he gave a gentle quack to the news.
"Black circle, I keep hearing a clang during cold weather season, is that black circle?" he asked and Orion nodded gently. "Yeah it is, but new training method, protecting the egg from ending up on hot surface for food." he said and they both nodded sternly. "Point made friend, point made, and touch my babies, you vultures, you're getting winged, hands off." he said with a warning quack then. "Yeah that ticked him off." they heard and he looked up at his friend's son.
"You hear that tone enough from me anyway, Jesse." his father said and Orion nodded in agreement then. "No kidding and hey, Jace'." he called out and the man smiled at the return of his nickname then. "I take it that's short for Jason?" one of the sextet's parents asked and he nodded. "It is and that's Jason Hall, Jesse's father." Gordon said smiling and he nodded. "You never got to meet the 8 in the last round, but it's time for both sides to come together now."
"Hence the crossed sticks, old duck and new ducks, but our black jerseys revealed." Charlie said and he nodded. "De-age them 4 years, I'm looking at our version, baby, these guys are all Hawks." Casey said and he nodded. "More then Hawks, they're the big brothers to Adam's ex trio and their team, mom, that's what Phil meant. Jared was a Hawk, all his ex friends are Hawks, Reilly, head coach Jack Reilly, District 6: The Hawks." he said and he crossed his arms.
"Well, well, well, so I guessed right, you and the Hawks are one and the same, you're their older brothers, well guys, looks like this is round 2 between us, one last time. To make this more interesting guys, you got two chances, the first is a post season-season between us. The second is and will be the showdown between us right now, so we win, you wait till next year. And the mascot changes to us, you win and we start at the same time." he called out and he nodded.
"Fair enough and that works well, like Adam said this is The Karate Kid part III, you're Ralph after he was cleansed of Silver's killer demeanor training." Orion said sternly and Gordon nodded in agreement to his opinion. "Tim until the showdown stay away from us, we're following dad's orders and you heard me right, dad. Supposedly no father, well as he said, soon after 6 months the title changes and I'm not calling him anything else now, my Coach, my father, my mentor."
"I'm Captain wearing it or not, dad, so with the fact I handed it over now, so Tim want to see how a real captain should act here right now. I'm not picking a fight with us being surrounded by adults ready to take action, as I never. Never, lose my temper enough to break anything, so what's first exactly hmm, you destroy my locker room. And my friends freeze your coat, and without realizing you blow the psyche?" he asked and the Varsity captain paled at that remark.
"Ouch, yeah we freeze their jackets and he realizes it was us, and then in one shot blows the psyche by destroying his jacket in fury, that stuff takes 10 hours to wear off." Russ said sternly and Orion nodded. "I'm the junior/senior chemistry teacher boys, so said tank is coming from my classroom, room 203, second floor." he said and he nodded. "Got it Coach, we can just report in, in case of trouble, you're our guardian how." Julie Gaffney said and he nodded gently.
"Label out, but Cowboy, you, Russ and Cat are my side, Dean, you, Kenny and Luis are Adam, and that's not if Peter and Karp come back. So while Adam is undercover on the Varsity, Peter is holding the new green ranger position. So just say what Austin would say if a fight broke out between Jason and this idiot over fighting the monster and we don't have time for this." Charlie said and Russ nodded. "Are you really choosing now to do this?!" Dean said in shock to that.
"No kidding, are you just choosing now to start the fight, when Charlie is giving us orders in the test run of our first school game here, Peter?!" Kenny Wu said sternly and Orion nodded. "Alright that's enough, you boys have orders, not that's enough, Charlie you just go with it. Go with your plan son, you had it longer, you know what to do." he said and Charlie nodded smiling. "Sure thing dad, but guys, stand tall and flight straight, let's rock." he said and the sextet smiled.
"What's that mean, big brother?" his sister asked and he smiled. "Just considering his arguing with me, before the game starts right now, but our new strategy. Said is we're showing off for two periods, and then period 3, we're letting them get in a few shots now. Before it's enough playing around and we slam hard on defense, so swapping Goalies, Julie!" he said and she nodded as Orion smiled at the idea. "Keeping me fresh, I get it." she said smiling at the plan.
"Greg, you got till we get it to a certain number in goals, new coach, so strategy switches here, I'm revamping the entire training course this off-season, before school starts!" he called out and the 10 nodded to the orders then as Greg Goldberg nodded smiling. "And these idiots have no idea who they're screwing with now, you're so good, we're going to destroy them. Once we use his training for the off-season playing season." Kenny Wu said smiling and he smiled then firmly.
"And like you said man, you're captain wearing it or not, we only listen to you now, so if that hotshot and his accomplice returns to the team. And it's you say this, or you say that, you, you, you, you." Russ said and Dwayne Robertson and Julie nodded in agreement then. "Yeah, you're our leader, wearing it or not, it's not the symbol of authority, but the tone and attitude. You show your authority in everything you do on the rink or off it." she said and he crossed his arms.
"Hans!" he called out and their mentor, who was his godfather's own godfather walked over. "You doing okay?" he asked and the man nodded smiling. "Charlie, it's going to be close, I got a year at most, Jan is taking over the shop." he said and Charlie nodded. "I understand, but I got some very good news, turns out our new coach is my father, and with it. Mrs. Rosen's sister works here." he said and he nodded. "Nothing's going to change." he said and Charlie nodded.
"I can do this easily, but if it's reached that time, that game is for you now, we're staying here." he said and Hans nodded. "As I would have said, you can do this, the symbol means nothing, the authority behind it, means everything. Keep the team together, you are the heart, soul and moral compass, guide them, like Gordon and I have you." he said and Charlie nodded, as he hugged him tightly and Orion nodded gently. "I love you grandpa." he said and Hans nodded.
"I love you too Charlie, you are my pride, take care of them and your father." he said and he nodded. "I'm still doing my part time job at the shop again here, so with practice everyday, I'm working 9 to 2 on weekends now." he said and he nodded in understanding. "I understand and that's fine right now, I get to see you every weekend." he said and Orion nodded. "The cancer got diagnosed 18 months ago, they gave him 18 months to 3 years." Casey said to him gently.
"Hans's condition is in it's last 8 months, he's got till Christmas at most, so that showdown game, that's for him, this is for Hans, we stay in school, we stick together. That last game is in his memory, for Hans." Charlie said and the team nodded. "For Hans." they all said together and Orion nodded. "Like me Coach Orion, his is level 4, he's got less then a year left, so if he finally passes before the showdown, this is for him now." Winny Banks said and he nodded gently then.
"And that just says even more you're the captain of the team, giving the guidance necessary to hold things together, but like your mother said, son. Things are bad with Peterson and David back on the team, they just keep getting worse. And it doesn't help that your grandfather is dying right now anyway, so that's enough of this already." he said and he and the entire team nodded. "Guys." he said and the team nodded sternly and Gordon nodded in agreement then.
"We got two problems this upcoming season, if the duo return to the team, and it doesn't help matters when Grandpa is dying right now, we stick together. So one, after starting school we stay clear of the Varsity, if they want to press their luck it's warning them off. But leave the Banks's and Scooter Holland alone now guys, and secondly here right now. Dad and I are trying to control those idiots, but things are bad and just keep getting worse, don't lose it here now."
"I get injured, Adam takes my place on the rink, I'm calling out our play orders and he takes over in leading you guys till the showdown, we're still us. The same old Ducks, nothing's changed and won't till after college, if he passes, before the end of the semester. This game is in his honor right now, we're Ducks and we fly together, forever." he said and they all nodded then. "Done Cap', done, we stick together, fly together." Russ said for all of them at that gently then.
"Reilly's at it again, Captain." Gordon said and he nodded sternly. "Yep, and with that in mind, Jack, you never thought I'd connect the dots. Not after Fulton arrested Chris, Alex and Jason for attempted bisecting?" he asked and he and his version all paled as their parents all went white. "I heard Reilly's remark to you, you blow the game, and nobody makes the team the following term, but we won the championships in year 2 and again year 3, you see us and try murder."
"You realize were it not for the fact Fulton arrested you, instead of us, you could have killed an adult that stuff is so strong and so thin. It surpasses even the sharpest razor blade, if he never tied the trio to the trio, it wouldn't be us. That hit that cord first, but an adult on a bike, or like us going in-line skating around the park. That was meant to be the starter for new schedule, and instead, you attempted multiple murder here?" Charlie asked and they started shaking.
"Goodwill Games parents you better get over here, you need to know this, before these guys try to revoke them." he said and 6 sets of parents and a older sibling moved to him. "What's up kiddo?" James Russel Tyler asked him and he explained that. "The school is on the edge of Edina, District 6, that's the District to our peewee rivals, the Hawks. Our Varsity counterparts are the big brothers to our version, team code name: Hawks." he said and they nodded then.
"So these brats are the older brothers to your version, hmm?" Derek Gaffney said and he nodded to him. "Yes Sir, but plan is I plan to split the sextet in half, Julie's under me along with Dwayne and Russ, we're the Red team. Kenny, Dean and Luis are with Adam on the White team along with the girls, Tommy, Guy, Greg and Terry. Terry's brother Jesse, Fulton, Averman, the trio and I are the Red team." he said and the adult sextet nodded to the explanation gently.
"We got 17 kiddo." he said and Charlie nodded. "We got a stand in here, so someone gets hurt, and the other fills in till they're recovered." he said and Orion nodded in approval. "Good thinking, you went scouting and came back with Russ that day." Gordon said smiling and Casey chuckled at that. "Yeah team of 17, but Peter and Karp leave they're not coming back, I lead the team dad leads me and the team now, but to explain this guys, in truth over this vendetta now."
"Their head Coach of the Hawks guys, Phil said that Adam's brother was a Hawk, as were his ex friends, only knowing what I'm looking at here right now. Just to know I know why they're trying to revoke it, it's because we destroyed them in the 1992 championship game. Coach was one of his, but he blew the penalty shot where I got it, that second place banner on the wall. 1992, that was us, we beat them for the first time in 19 years." he said and the sextet nodded sternly.
"So we got a personal vendetta here over the fact you beat out their brothers in getting into the academy, hmm, I call that a hate crime if they revoke it for no reason. I saw her brother and the Duncans's father, they're cops." James Russel Tyler said sternly and he nodded. "Yeah comes in handy in truth, Sir, but they got cub duty here at the academy, these guys are Cobras. We're Miyagi's philosophy in karate training, that's being a Duck." he said and they nodded gently.
"The version their brothers know are me and the 7, the Duncans and Terry, to Stanton, it's you 6 and us 8, but now the board has both versions under one roof. Oh dead man walking here right now, I now see this for what it is right now, Jared's team here. Said are the big brothers to my version, you need to break the Hawk Circle, Dean." he said and the headmaster nodded. "Done Sir, done, last season for them, first for us, but the Warriors Die and the Ducks fly now finally."
"Jared, are your team members surnames Patterson, Larson, McGill, Riley, Brown and Cole by any chance?" he said and Jared Banks nodded. "Yeah Charlie, you guessed right buddy, they're my version of your team rivals, but Scooter and me are Ducks. As we conformed to your dad's training, I'm Adam's college bound counterpart, just as good here." he said and Charlie nodded. "Yeah I know, but just one of you evens the playing field, you and Scooter always watched us."
"You knew how good we are, but under dad, you're seeing us reach your level by the end of the summer." he said and and the Varsity paled. "Dang it, alright dad, your ex team are the big brothers of my version, the Hawks, they got so rough. That they put Adam in the hospital, but he told us to kick their buts, we won on a penalty shot after they fouled me. But I got the shot where Coach Bombay didn't now." he said and she and Orion nodded in shocked fury at that.
"They're in shock we beat them the previous season, with no head coach, Uncle Jason was holding his place till he got back, and we won two more times, before reaching the Games. Followed by 2 more years and no matter what they do, just can't beat us right now, but you being our coach…." he started to say and he smiled as he signed to the Dean and he nodded. "I've got your entire 5 years, not leaving you Coach less again." he said and they smiled then.
"So that's why they're trying to pressure the Dean for results, it's because of this now, alright now that I know this, I walk in there, and in the middle of fight. And these brats are getting the drill instructor tone with me, because I told you to stay clear of them. But if Peterson forces a confrontation here, just use your peewee plays, make my point, those plays. They will not work on this level anymore." he said and Charlie nodded to the orders as he read it out to Jared then.
