Great Plateau, Great Tree Moon, 1180
Link was confused to say the least. He couldn't remember anything. He woke up to a voice telling him to open his eyes. Doing so revealed a small army staring at him. Then the first purple orb flew at him. His instincts took hold, sending him to the side right as the orb passed him. It hit the wall, dissolving. The tall boy with black hair and a gaunt face looked shocked. "Lady Edelgard stay back! We don't know what he's capable of." Then a blonde boy with a blue cape stepped forward. "I am Dimitri Alexandre Blaiddyd, prince of Faerghus." The boy bowed while saying this. Link tried again to access his memories, only to be greeted by nothingness. He was abruptly drawn from his mind by a shrill scream. "GHOST!!!!" He covered his ears to try and block at the glass shattering sound. The purple haired girl fell over again. Behind her he saw a stone pedestal that seemed to be calling to him. Standing up he slowly made his way to it. The others with him in this chamber backed away from him. A small device sat in the middle of the pedestal. He touched it, which caused it to light up. "Verifying user." The ghostly voice was back. "User verified. Engaging sheikah slate." The slate lit up, but was empty. Suddenly the door slid open revealing a second chamber. Inside were some broken crates and a chest with some beat up clothing. Link quickly got dressed and examined the next pedestal. It opened the final door. Light filtered in from above.
Link ran towards the door, climbing the small stone wall, past the entrance, all the way to a ledge that showed the Hyrule in its entirety. There was a forest beneath him. To the right he saw the ruins of a temple. Below that was smoke. An old man was sitting by a fire watching him. Walking to the man he saw that he wore clothes that looked as tattered as his own. As Link opened his mouth to speak Edelgard pushed in front of him. "I am Edelgard von Hresvelg, heir apparent to the Adrestian throne. If you bring us back to Garreg Mach you will be rewarded greatly for your work." The man paused, thought for a second, then spoke. "I have never heard of Garreg Mach nor Adrestia. Of course that doesn't mean much, after all I've lived here for years. The students were now panicking. It had set in that they were lost in some foreign land without the means to defend themselves. "You should ask my daughter, she knows a lot about the world, perhaps she can be of service to you. Is that a sheikah slate? You can use the map on there to help find her." Looking down at the sheikah slate Link clicked the map button, only to find it empty. "If you want to download the map you'll have to go to that cave." He pointed to a small cave in the distance. "How do you know all this?" This time it was Claude who had spoken up. He was eyeing the man with both curiosity and suspicion. "My eldest daughter was a researcher in the castle. I am simply telling you what she told me." Link nodded before going in the direction of the cave. "Wait! It's dangerous out there. Take these." In his hands was a torch and an axe. Link took the torch, brandishing it like a sword. Edelgard took the axe. It was fragile, but it would have to do.
As they walked down the path past the woods they felt eyes on them. "What if it's an ambush?" Felix was suspicious of the old man and the boy who was leading them. What if this was all some kind of elaborate ruse to capture the future leaders of Fódlan? "Calm yourself Felix. If it comes to that, we can defend ourselves with our weapons and mages." Of course the boar would disagree. He had always been too trusting. At noon they reached the cave. Inside was a small tower with yet another pedestal inside. They all climbed in and on to the platform. "Tower activated. Watch for falling rocks." Right after the voice finished speaking the ground began shaking. "Not again!" Muttered Bernadetta before being knocked to the ground. The tower rose into the air, carrying the group into the sky. "Insert sheikah slate." Link tentatively stepped forward. Once the slate was in place the stone on the ceiling began glowing that unearthly blue. "Distilling runes." Linhardt was staring at the runes frantically trying to decipher them. "Great Plateau map installed." Link took the slate and saw there was indeed a small map that showed the surrounding area. "Ohoho." The group jumped. Behind them was the old man with a paraglider in his hands. Before they had time to react however, a giant purple boar erupted from the ruins of a castle in the distance. "W-what is that!" Screamed Flayn. "That is Calamity Ganon. The latest incarnation of an ancient evil." The man turned to point at the temple ruins. "That is where my daughter has made her home. She can help you for as long as you need"
"I need that paraglider." They all turned to look at Link. This was their first time hearing their pointy eared companion's voice. "I can trade it for the treasure that is in that shrine. However I'd recommend waiting until morning." Looking up they noticed that the sun was already dipping below the horizon. "Monsters are rampant at night. Hurry!" And so they did. Even with the delay caused by Hubert's panic at being so high in the air they were making good time. They had just made it to the top of the last flight of stairs when the sun disappeared completely. Stepping inside they were greeted by a completely deserted ruin. "Hello. Anybody home." yelled Claude. Behind them a figure landed silently.
