D3: The Mighty Ducks Re-Imagined
Warnings: For this chapter we get a said single scene in training, before the term starts, as they quickly bond to Orion. And then Orion gets said phone call from Casey's twin brother on Peter and Karp. And what they did this time to get put under his supervision at the school. This is going to be a re-imagining of D3: the Mighty Ducks as Charlie meets Orion at the start of the summer, as their lives are fused together.
As they prepare for what their future brings now, and as Charlie learns the truth that their new coach is friend of their current's. And with it, that Orion is his real father and he has a life outside of the team. This is also going to leave out the tv show, so an alternate reality story. But the other clip to this is going to show a few situations of Orion's coming into the picture, just before Charlie chose him as their back up coach.
Disclaimers: The Mighty Ducks don't belong to me, the story belongs to me, everything else belongs to the disney company.
Chapter 7: Rivalries, First Day Classes And Practice I
New Jersey's, Sponsors And Designations Continued:
"There's the side effect here right now on Gary's movie, that the mother's new boyfriend, without running it by her first, got him in this mess, and he quit, before the end of the season. Only now both parents, after having the coach running it by the parents first, agrees with this now, as with the kids now close to entering college, and another and final 9 years of this. Agrees there's the part time job, and it pays their way through school too." Hall said and Orion nodded.
"But you know the thing here about skating, playing hockey, for my team, hockey is what we do, not who we are, but yeah, I want to win, but win or lose. At the end of the day, I'm not you Jack, so it's still a good day, take that back to your brother. We're good, but 7 months training for the showdown, we'll see who gets J.V., but that's my dad, he's my coach, he belongs to me." Charlie said sternly then and Riley swallowed hard and Orion looked down at that gently then.
'Baby I get it, but ease back in the possessiveness here.' he thought gently to that remark, knowing his teenage son was getting territorial with him. "Oh boy, yeah I haven't heard that tone from him, since Karp crossed the line in the insults." Guy said, backing up at that and he nodded. "Easy son, remember, standing right here, I see a punch get thrown, you're both in trouble, now cool down." Parker said gently as they waited for it, and he relaxed then gently.
"But for the record how can you even try to do that, provoke us into a practice game when my dad has us in practice all day, huh, in public when we got adults. And our peers listening to entire thing, they know the challenge got thrown here now for that. But your problem is though bird a prey, you're actually thinking you can provoke me into a fight, when we got witnesses. But that threat is enough to seal your fate, if there's another injury." he said and he paled then.
"You mean…." he started to say and Charlie nodded sternly then. "That's right, you gave them a motive to consider assault and battery, bordering on attempted murder. But say I don't have the brains, maybe not, but I do have the brains to finish this now, but say it. We got witnesses, to a possible altercation and whoever it was just deflected it. And when we got 70 bystanders watching, but you got a beef with me here, then take it up with me in 3 months right now."
"On the out of season Championships, but not right now, now get out of here, before the faculty calls her sister, and you guys got detention for 2 months, costing you much needed time." he said and Reilly and Orion nodded sternly in agreement. "Agreed, now that's enough, we're done here Jack, you stick to your side, we got our's. And the secondary championships decide the J.V. shots." he said sternly to that and he nodded. "Peep….." Huey said warningly to the other boy.
"Cool it you fluffball." he said in response at that and he gave a peep to that, as he moved under Charlie's hand and he ran his fingers through his down gently. "You maybe 10x's my size, but so what, our wing span can give you a headache if you take it to the head, you birdbeak." Charlie translated and Connie closed her eyes as she hold it in then. "Yeah 10, more like 20, we're humanoid jumbo Pekins, boy." Orion said and he peeped then to the remark at that news.
"And that wasn't necessary to insult the predator bird either, and when you're this small." Jesse said, looking at him and he peeped gently. "You're, in humanoid pekin, 8 years old boy, you got a few weeks, before you gain your green cape for winter training in black circle. But there's no reason to insult my age group's junior alpha of the team and when you're this small. With you standing on black circle, as you're going to get hurt if it gets hit." he said and he peeped gently.
"On black…" Charlie repeated at that and then saw he was standing on a spare puck, after he hopped on the bench to get a better look at what the fight was about. "Yeah agreed, Huey that's a back up black circle, in case we lose another circle here right now in practice. So get off black circle, before we have need of using this one." he said and he peeped and climbed down and curled up in a spare glove then, a contented look on his face gently and Connie hid a chuckle.
"Yeah staying warm, it gets colder the closer you get to white frozen lake, so inside wing shaped down." Tammy said with a chuckle and he peeped in agreement. "But that's one way to put it, but touch us girls he just ticked you off, calls you a wuss, hah. You're not so far gone that you don't see sabotaging the court could kill someone, but that's roller-blading. This is hockey and we get injured, you're going to kill the guy." Julie said and he and Adam nodded in agreement.
"Saying of which, oh dad, my check is 1/2 my tuition into college, and the rest my living allowance now." Charlie said and Orion nodded to him. "My living allowance now comes to $114,300, I can live off that and buy some better clothes now. While we dress in our team designated clothing during the school year." he said and Orion nodded. "Good point, we can buy some new clothes in the 16 of us and match the setting, but call us white trash right now."
"I don't think so, but you know what a Soc is, white trash with mustangs and madras." Jesse said and Orion nodded in agreement. "That's fine with your parents, mother and me, we set that aside for your college tuition now and the revenue coming in for both of us. We got enough to get two years off your college scholarships now." he said and Casey nodded in agreement. "But this year, my living allowance is $4,400.00, currently, I can live off that the rest of the year."
"Next year the amount is $28,600x4=?" he started to say and they paled. "The amount comes to $114,400, and we're continuing the advertising here now in truth. When at the college, our part time job this way, continues till we're 24." Averman said and their parents nodded. "Like you said steady paycheck, we supply the gear and blammo." Tibbles said and Casey smiled. "But Team USA is back, we're advertising the gear, and get a steady paycheck with that now."
"The cost for our college education now here, is 1/4 the amount our part time job costs, and the other, but college education, paying off the student loans. We can have a normal life, without being branded as hotshots, but hockey, is what we do, not who we are, we play for fun." he said sternly to Riley and he and his father swallowed hard and Casey nodded firmly to that. "I think you get the point boys, in our case, but this is what being a true high school athlete is."
"When you grew up normal without your parents paying for everything if you're a team, you get a sponsor, sell their products, you get paid. Set aside some of that money for college, the rest of your living allowance, and you can pay your way through school. As the scholarships only carry so much, but you get both and you got your shot into college. And it takes only 3 years to pay off your student loans, when you got a job for 9 years this way." She said and they swallowed.
"You get a paycheck this way as well, work your way through college, being normal, but hey I guess being normal is not an option, your parents pay for everything. Not us in truth, but too good to actually get a sponsor, you know if you bothered to do this. You would not being in this mess, we have 4 of the school contracts in sponsors now. And adding in the hotdog company that which sells hotdog and hamburger buns, and there we go." Charlie said and they all paled.
"New school tradition just got added as well, but end of the year barbecue and baseball game, before the next year gets started, we're selling their products. And faster then they can get it out this way, but the games, we're selling each companies products. And so fast right now, the amount is coming in the door, faster then we can count now, but 1/4 of that. Now goes to the Banks's, another goes to the Saint Jude's children's hospital." he said and they swallowed hard.
"We're not arrogant enough to actually think of not giving up our homes for Adam and Jared, and not considering moderate priced goods. That's books, our merchandise in clothing, food sells now, we're doing it all, in the off season, and every year we do this. The Ducks in either generation, but Coach Bombay is basic training, my dad is advanced to pro. Meaning, that the better we get, we have him there fully through our teenage lives, but not a stranger now."
"We're, in the 7 of us, a family gang with 9 new members added to our flock, so never letting go, of my father." Charlie said to him then. "But this is our new look now." he said, pulling on his jersey and the Hawks looked at it and paled. "Fire engine red, over green and gold stripes, and white back and chest with the Goodwill games symbol of the team now. That's the new emblem of the academy, if you beat our brothers?" he asked shaking and Charlie nodded sternly then.
"Not if, but when, after 7 months training by my dad, you better train hard, you're going to need it Jack, tell that to Tim as well." he said sternly to him. "But we're advertising their apparel and gear by dressing in these right now, your team is training on the academy school rink. We train here, but hey this is what it means to be normal, we're selling their products in food. And dressing in the gear and jerseys, advertising and sells, our paychecks come through Hendrix."
"But after 6 months we're in nice clothes, and being a school team now, under dad." he said and the Hawks line up quickly took off. "Well the Hawks never expected this, we get enough to sell here to the split to charity, Russ. And the Banks's, while the 3rd goes to sponsoring the kids, for further updated gear." Jesse said and Tibbles nodded gently then. "Yep, and you're being sponsored by us, so there's your paycheck J.J." he said and Jesse smiled at the remark then.
"These idiots never were that much fun to skate with anyway, but to sabotage the competition, is a booby trap, if it was one of the girls that hit the trap. The trap could've killed them, so just say the X-Games down hill course, you're going so fast, you skid out. That you're going to get hurt, but do that you ticked me off, but that's my double. His fourth member a girl, she skids out and slices up her arm, the leader finally ticked him off." Charlie said and Madigan nodded.
"Nobody doing this for fun understands what having sponsors results in, but you get a steady paycheck, better gear and equipment, you become the top team. You have your own training course, or rink, to train on, but for a player suffering what Adam is right now. We been in worse scrapes then this, the family, but the bills piling up, you get desperate. And turn on everything you believe and you get in over your head, till said parent, or sibling after hearing said reason."
"Now has to talk some sense into you here, to get you out of the hole you yourself put yourself into now, and after talking to your injured team mate. And as you lay into the idiot that caused this now, throw the challenge and everyone listening to the conversation. Now knows this just got personal finally, as you show them the heart of what it means to be a leader. Screw up, and then pull out all the stops and win the race." he explained and she and Buckley nodded gently.
"And Adam, you never turned on the team, this was a Hawk trap all this time, but we don't need the money enough for you to turn on everything you become. The last 4 years, but for guys like those knuckleheads, that's how it starts, you do it for the money. And soon you become a sell out now, be the you I know you to be back at it, hockey is what you do. Not who you are, we're not in financial trouble, we're fine, be the you I know." Winny said and he nodded gently then.
As he hugged her tightly and she smiled then. "Yeah I agree with her son, we need the money yeah, but not enough for you to disobey us now. We been in worse before, but be the you we know, hockey, like skating is what you do, not who you are. It's not whether you win or lose, but how you play the game, time to let the whatever sponsored team. Now, have it hard here, but Gordon was right, I never been more proud of you who become." Banks said and he nodded.
"Jack this means war, you and Tim start with the threats, just save the trash talk, my coach is your brother's ex coach now, but I'm a Duck, hockey is what I do, not who I am. I'm part of a team, a family, play from the heart here." he said and Charlie nodded in agreement. "Agreed, you boneheads just save the trash talk, but you got beef with us, you take up with us. And at the championships, come on bro, we got work to do." he said and Adam nodded in agreement.
"And that's you now, you and Adam, they finally crossed you, but calling the challenge in public after it got you suspended from school. Everyone knows what that Sunday means, and to you, you had enough of this back and forth between you finally." Tibbles said to that and he nodded. "I know, but there is just one thing they never thought to do, aside from getting a sponsor and he's standing next to me dressed in an adult version of our sweaters." he said and they nodded.
"These guys never thought to get a Coach, to end the back and forth between you, not just any coach, but the father of one of their team." Buckley said in understanding and Orion nodded gently as Charlie crossed his arms, as he leaned against his father's shoulder. "With us learning to skate, before we can walk, skating is way of life for us in this state to Chicago. And Wisconsin and Michigan, that we know this, and have our own areas to practice, but to a city in-in line."
"The hazards are beyond deadly at times, when you're doing this from a hill, and down till to where the drop off point is, but trying to take a swing at whoever you're racing. Your momentum throws you off and you collide with the stops, say a bale of hay which is the turn now. As you strike it and land hard, trying to bring your momentum back up, is cutting it close here. But by the end of the race, you're so exhausted, you're going to collapse." he said and they nodded.
"The school X-games are the most dangerous sports there are, I'm not saying our taste in sports aren't, but these are ones like motor cross, rock climbing, skate-boarding. Street Luge, vert dirt biking and so on, these sports are so dangerous, one wrong move now. That you make mistake, in our version, you lose a point, they make a mistake, someone's going to get hurt. But even the gear won't protect you, if you lose control of your momentum here." he said and they nodded.
"Well I hope the company makes a movie on what you just described, so we can get the dangers right now, because something like this is enough to stick with you. Us understanding this and when your father is your coach, he's doing what these brats are not. And ending the beefs, before they get you expelled from school here and unless it's the rink. No skating on campus now guys, so once you get in now, the blades come off." he said and they nodded to the orders.
"But the down hill is one of said courses for three of them, that the going down is so fast you reach speeds that trying to slow down you're going to skid out and crash." he said and she and their parents nodded as Orion crossed his arms, knowing he was right. "In-line skating on a downhill course, as in straight pavement, that's completely suicidal." she said in shock and he nodded sternly. "Extreme sports, they always are." he said to her and she nodded with a sigh.
"And you're trying to finish the game with a possible set of cracked ribs kiddo?" Hancock asked and he nodded. "I know, I know, but trying to end this as fast as possible, I know you're all going to give me a reprimand for trying that, but showing the true face of leadership. The leader of the team never gives up, even injured, after the game is over here now, we're stand down. That you know he's trying to get out of my shadow, when Adam's my next in command here."
"But if I do get a set of cracked ribs, though I agree to wait till game 3, Peter, don't count on it, because these guys just ticked them off and the game, as I'm telling dad now. And he, and you guys, hear it go from a straight battle to what sounds like a brawl going on in there. You know I was the catalyst after getting struck in my still healing rib cage, and both sides. Of the team, they all lost their tempers and are ready to kill here now." he said and they all nodded sternly.
"And rather then thinking I was involved in that, we set the trap and they walk right into it, I'm said leader of that team, his best friend is next in command." Adam said and Tibbles and the faculty nodded to that. "An attempted beef in the school in in-line skating, would be a race, as after school, the team was headed for the pits. But whoever nailed the railing laid himself out, again, and there's the reason us coaches are there, to prevent injuries from getting worse."
"But said race in-in line skating is a grudge match in hockey here now and the faculty just got in, hears the racket and comes running." Orion said to clarify bemused and he nodded. "Along with the Coach." he said smiling sternly and he nodded. "And there's the evidence, you been listening to me so much, you know I'm close by to make the noise so loud. I arrive to break it up, but again, it's damn good thing I'm not their coach or they're doing laps for a month now."
"But I get the tone on my being your father, but no need to get possessive, son over claiming your territory here, when I'm your coach." he said and Charlie nodded. "I know, but these idiots hadn't spent 7 months training under you, to understand this, but I just got you back. And I don't want to lose you, but my dad as my coach, all I want is to play for you now. In the years ahead now." he said and Orion nodded. "I understand and you will." he said gently to him then.
As Charlie hugged him and he tightened his arms around him, as he pressed his forehead to his and Charlie closed his eyes and Buckley smiled at at that response. 'Yeah though a teenage duck, inside still a duckling, duckling with his father duck.' Gordon thought smiling, knowing he connected to him tightly, the teenager would be just fine now. 'My baby, my baby will be just fine now, not him, but Peter now.' Casey thought as he relaxed gently at that response then.
"With knowing the Disney company, they're choosing Walter to play the team mate that turned on the leader of the sponsored team right now. And by Walter I mean Zack Taylor, the Dino ranger black." he said and they all nodded bemused. "The Power Rangers, that kid is 26 years old and looks 15." Addams said bemused and he nodded. "Guilty Coach, we're in our 20's, but still look like we're in our teens here, but I switched from karate to in-line skating for this one."
"But yeah you got it right kid, your in-line skating double is 14, he got in over his head after having Banks's financial problems." they heard from said actor and they nodded. "Code name?" Charlie asked and he nodded. "His nickname is actually the first 5 letters to his last, Andy 'Brink' Brinker, he's you in every sense of the word, I heard your remark to that Hawk. That's Eric exactly right now to his team rival, but I switched sides, Eric's my best friend in truth here."
"But I see pranks like this with Paul and Jason, and they just keep getting worse every time, we're spending 18 months working on it, but what you described. You read it right: the town is a Southern Californian town, but directly next to the beach. But the race was at the top of the mountain and down straight to the beach, his team has a girl in it. But at least you have the sense to not letting that go right to your head." he said and Charlie nodded in agreement then.
"You ever try in-line skating Walter, because the downhill is the most dangerous race there is, speeds get up to 43 miles an hour." he said and the actor nodded in shock. "We're playing these characters, but we never studied up on how dangerous the games really get man." he said and Charlie nodded. "Well first rule is when building up momentum, stay in a tuck, and secondly when going down stairs now, knees slightly bent." he said and Walter Jones nodded gently.
"The tuck is this." he said, bending his knees and going into a bent position. "By doing that you got your weight putting into the speed, the further down the hill you go. Your speed increases, the first jump is at the first curve, jump off the wall and swing in the direction the turn is. Once you get to the ramp, grab your lower legs in the jump and let go before you land. But trying to take a swing at whoever is your competition in going that fast, you lose your momentum."
"And going so fast you collide with the barriers, stalling you out as you got to restart now." he said and Walter nodded. "Thanks for the advice, I'll tell that to Eric and his team, but I'm from California, I never grew up skating in all my years in acting. Though the sextet did, and they were the Ninjetti, before Amy too left the team, leaving the guys and Karen left." he said and the team nodded as he looked at the boy gently at that remark then at the news then.
"Well soon your franchise goes under the Disney company, want to watch?" he asked and the man chuckled. "Yeah I'll stay, but I'm not alone, the others are here, the season starts next month, we can watch your first game and they head back." he said and Charlie nodded smiling. "Others, your entire cast are here, both old and new rangers?" Connie said and he nodded. "Hey guys, we're up here!" they heard a female voice call out and they looked up then smiling then.
"Amy, you have to follow me in right now?" he asked and she smiled. "Amy rather then calling it quits, if that's what the writers decided, you guys just take a step back. You and Jason, we love your relationship with him, keep it canon." Charlie said and she and Jason David Frank nodded then. "So step back and why the letter right now?" he asked and he nodded. "Double meaning, you're coming home, trying again after college." Connie said and she smiled at the idea then.
"Yeah I like that better, he's my everything, but phrased behind the words?" Amy Jo Johnson asked and she explained that. "There is no one else, you ran into a possible half big brother, if once your legacy ends and starts with someone else later. He was your best friend, before you got together at the Parents Day party, and brother, get Austin and bring him home." she said and the cast/team nodded. "So who of us took that at face value?" Jason asked at that remark.
"Wasn't us or my cousin and Richie, so the Fearsome Five." Walter Jones said sternly and the rest of the cast nodded in agreement. "Okay we do that then, I put my communicator back on, dropped in to check and I come back everyday, because your animals were distracting me. Before the blast had Dave's wolf howling in pain, and then a weak howl, I collapse and come to investigate, as I reactivate, and now instead of 6 we're 7 now." she said and Jason nodded then.
"Alright we do that then, the 5 of us are glad you're back, Nakia is just getting to know you and I got both you and David at my side, so not him, I have you. As the letter was meant to say you're training from home starting now, you're coming home the following week. And your coach decided you're better off training at the arena he had you in, then on the other side. And of the country." Jason said and Steve Cardenas, Johnny Bossch and Catherine Sutherland nodded then.
And in agreement. "Yeah that and one by one the team is coming home, we did plenty and we're all ready to reactivate now." Thuy Trang said to him and Walter and Austin St. John nodded." I know, but one very bad side effect, is a change in colors, but the first team had the original. You guys are the newest colors added to the team and our team, as the Dinos are split. And down the middle, but you get one animal or another, in the first two." David Yost said to her then.
"We already switched over and belong to the guys and Karen now, Nakia and Cathy are your side of the team with cub now." Amy said and they both nodded gently. "You guys are not fighting over us here at the moment, not just Dinos or Ninjetti. But both now, we can be shared now, okay, so there's no fighting over us, but I'm the alpha's mate and omega of the team. So with so many carnivores here, no sniping at each other." She said and they nodded gently then.
"You guys just switch colors right now, if you're dressed in red man?" he asked and Jason nodded. "Yeah we did and Austin gets the armor, but I look better in white and green then red, just not my color." he said and they nodded. "Oh one other thing, add the further emphasis on what your wife said, the powers are from your animals and not the power coins. Just put Amy in, and instead of 6, was 7, as she came back to see you." he said and they nodded smiling.
"And out the team back in one piece, but just right a follow up story to that, saying you decided to test your back up powers, as your real selves, and it worked. Revealing the entire team is intact, and you're split down the middle with your last piece being a cadet later." he said and the 11 nodded to the suggestion then. "As for the run down the stairs in your roller blades guys, that's how you're supposed to do it, but downhill on pavement, watch your speed here now."
"Because the downhill is the most dangerous course in in-line skating there is, but as a regular sport player, we make a mistake. And we lose a point, at most bruised bones, possibly a cracked rib, but you, you make a mistake. And someone could get hurt here now with the dragsters or just the luge and motorcycles." Charlie said and they nodded to the advice and warning. "I get it and thank you for the warning, guys, stay away from the hills." Jason said and they nodded.
"And I will kill who caused baby to activate, but looks like the company is about to buy right to the franchise right now." she said and he nodded. "Never mind following the script, next year's movie, while the guys and I got ready for the championships. You and Austin were getting some brother/sister time, Dave just finished the final modifications to the upgrade. And the girls were doing volunteer work at the shelter." he said and she nodded in agreement to that remark.
"With one of us possibly laid out we got a back up ranger, as the 8 of us go to get you guys, if you get captured now." Johnny said and he nodded. "Agreed right now, we do that, but while Ivan was a supposed stand alone in our storyline. This is the explanation to the opening pilot trilogy episode for next years season at the moment. Well if this explains anything, it explains why she was so quick to get to, but first me, then Dave and now Austin at the current moment."
"And that whoever caused is having to face your wrath, while I break the spell on you, you belong to me, Amy." he said and she nodded. "Alright we go that way, as for this, just add in the current sponsors, as Disney bought the rights to your biography now." she said and Charlie nodded to her then. "Good point at the moment, as you we do this, the series is coming to an end, and we're retired after college ends, though I go all the way here, following my father."
"But like the peewees, the championships come down to us and the Hawks now, but these idiots, they say one thing and their actions give a completely different story. After they beat the heck out of Adam during the game right now at the moment then, but Winny. She is the catalyst, we're raising funds for her follow up treatment, so though we make our quota. We're doing this non stop, like the S.A. do for the donations." Averman said and Charlie nodded then.
"They're the last game of the season guys, as per usual." Charlie called out and the 16 nodded. "Final season games between us, we're starting Saturday, so everyone involved, man the refreshment stand, we're selling the candy, popcorn and soda." Charlie said gently out and they nodded. "How much now, honey?" Linda asked and he smiled. "That's $0.75 for a small, $1.00 for a medium and $1.25 for a large in popcorn, sodas are the same and the candy now here."
"Is $0.50 for a normal, $1.00 for a king size, and a baggy for the bite size bars is $1.50." he said and she nodded smiling. "Bite size is 1.50, fun size is $2.00." Orion said and she nodded smiling then. "And that's a mixture of each one as well, so whichever one we serve up between games, so one game we do Hershey and the other we do Mars now. Halloween is the big one, if we got a game that day now, before the season really kicks in, the bags are carrying 16 bars."
"But we're selling enough we can make it, as the prices are far cheaper then going to the concession stand between games, you remember. That it costed 7 dollars for something to eat and drink, or just said salesman: $3.00 a piece. But come on, $3.00 for a hotdog, I don't think so, garage sale cheap is the best way to go right now. But this is not New York, we live in the hockey capital of the world, that we make things a lot easier, that cheaper brings more sales."
"More money and by the end of the game, we sold 3/4's of what we got to serve that day." Connie said and Orion nodded in agreement. "I think that the next cubs parents are going to approve of this, but between our practices and the next generation right now. We're helping the duckling team get better and they take up our current appearance as they grow. But currently the old numbers of the peewees are about to retire, so a new set of numbers should do here."
"But whoever had your brother's number is the captain of the Ducks now, baby." he said and she nodded gently as they saw 25 ten years old then. "Well there's your new version of the team, Coach, but if they're anything like us, expect trouble. You better get a new back up staff as Ms. Mckay and Jenkins are coming with us to the academy." Guy said and he nodded. "That's an understatement, I'm working from home, so my ducklings." he said and the Ducklings smiled.
"Peep peep." One of the younger peewee players said to Charlie and he smiled. "Quack." he said in response and the younger boy smiled in affection. "It's okay pal, I'll train you, are you the new captain of the team directly after me?" he said and he nodded. "My name is Tommy Wilcox, Charlie." he said and Charlie nodded. "Okay, so this is your team huh, alright, after school ends, while we got practices everyday, we're training you Saturdays, I have my job from 9 to 2 now."
"So I'll come and help train you from 3 to 4:30." he said and they nodded and knowing his father and Gordon approved of that idea. "One last summer together and then it's time to let go here guys, he belongs to the Ducklings now." Charlie said and the team nodded gently. "There's the side effect, after this much time together, we grew close right now, but time now. We'll see each other again, you're just with your father now." Gordon said and he nodded smiling then.
"You're my godfather anyway Coach, so we'll see each other soon, just be careful." he said and Gordon nodded as he hugged him tightly. "Hang on, Don tell the JGWG's rep that, I'm training the next generation of my team, and working from home now. I can work from home, but the kids future comes first, even try to fire me, simply for helping someone. In just getting their tuition into college, the representatives are being sued." he said and Tibbles nodded sternly.
"This is going to be a long 9 months now right now." Terry said and Jesse nodded in agreement then. "I know, but God talk about the money prices coming in so fast, we lost track of the amounts in Richfield, and that is just for starters. But that's the team selling stocks, we're selling merchandise, and hockey gear and for the diner and the food companies. We're doing donations here, that the amount will be $85,000 before the end of the school year now here."
"And $1,750,000 before the end of the year." Goldberg said and Orion nodded in agreement then gently at that. "I know and we stick to our new updated look now guys, so you're dressed in these, in the sweat suits and sweaters. The helmets sport the E.H. logo on them, but you're dressed in these now, so the Eden Hall Mighty Ducks as the J.V. Squad now." he said and they nodded gently to him. "Yeah we prefer our new look now." Connie said smiling and he smiled.
"Peep?" Huey asked him and Charlie smiled gently, "Hey buddy." he said, lifting him up and he peeped and he pressed his forehead to Charlie's, as he set him on the bench, and stroked his down. "Hey I got something for you, here you go." he said, placing a mini red hat on his head and tying it gently under his throat, before doing a red scarf around his neck and it covering his back. "Peep?" he said with a smile in the tone as she put a mirror in front of him and he peeped.
"Yeah I know you like that, but you belong to me, so me in red, you in red." he said and he peeped. "That's till we create your t-shirt boy, so you look like a pre duckling version to your name-sake now." he said and he gave a peep to that. "Peep." he said happily and Orion chuckled gently. "Like I said, you, baby, are adorable." Connie said smiling and he peeped gently to that compliment, before she, Jesse and Adam did their counterparts and they and their sister.
Looked at each other with a smile in their eyes. "These little guys are beyond cute, but that was us when we hatched now." Averman said smiling and she nodded smiling. "By that you mean when we took on our team name, and yeah I agree with you, at that age, we tap as we walk. And now, it's sounding like we dropped something, with us reaching full size in 5 years." she said and Adam smiled at her gently then as he answered her gently then to this remark.
"Hot pink, near violet looks good on you, Connie." Adam said smiling and she grinned at that compliment. "Thanks brother, but there we go right now, Webby in hot pink near violet, Louie in green, Dewey in blue and Huey in red, but that's the four of us right now, in the original team. But with a flock, a team of 17, expect trouble here." she said and they nodded in agreement, as they looked at each other and peeped a compliment as the trio with a smile in their eyes.
Then gave a 'thank you peep' and they smiled at then. "Anyone else feel like this matches the quartet, before Austin came back?" he asked and the trio nodded. "Yeah except that instead of Austin, Jason is busy with something and Austin is controlling the slowly growing team. As he waits for his best friend to return to the team now, and soon we got both versions here. But madam really, if I catch your players in a case of gambling, or Charlie does now in truth here."
"You are in so much trouble here, a head coach is entirely responsible for their team, when on out of city trips, if you're more focused on your child, then you really shouldn't be a coach." Cole said sternly and Gordon and Orion nodded sternly in agreement. "I don't believe this, and frankly I don't blame her son for getting fed up right now, but he's not a baby. She has to stop treating him like one and secondly, she needs to pay attention to the others here right now."
"And before they get in over their heads at the moment, but I catch them in a case of gambling, they are in so much trouble, we did this every year, us students. Playing against you, the pros, sometimes we get you, sometimes no, but either way, training experience. For the real thing now, we're rookies playing against veterans, once in the pros." Charlie said and they nodded in agreement. "Yeah there you see, you knew this, we encourage it." Cole said to him then gently.
"And wait till both two teams combine together as one, your version, if her son joins you to get out from her smothering him, before your son joins her team. And now both of you are co-coaching and only you can alleviate the kid's fears here." he said and Cole nodded. "That I understand right now, but really here, if she never saw this coming before right now. After an entire summer and suddenly our relationship gets started." he said and Connie chuckled then.
"And frankly I been listening to all 3 of you way too much lately, to have her realize this, I'm entering the next stage up, but want to play with the big boys. It's getting highly dangerous and this happens all the time, so fast reflexes, keep moving." he said and he nodded. "Yeah that's an understatement, you listen to us so much these hotshots are never going to stand a chance. As for whoever the family was, key point, you don't want to end up on the wall stick to the middle."
"And of the rink, and keep moving, because stop, you're likely to get body slammed into the wall, you need to be faster, quicker, on this level, as you advance. But the current plays you were using are not going to work on this level, that's high school. But from high school to college and into the pros, time for an upgrade." Cole said and he nodded. "Well we been training for 6 months, but the grudge match is really because we beat out their brothers right now."
"Just to get into school at the academy, they realized if we took his training, your training, and they didn't, we're going to destroy them in the showdown, attempted revocation. Is screaming coward and dirty cheater in everyway you can say it." he said and Cole nodded sternly. "Yep, alright gentlemen this is part of the training, so you're hawks huh, well grow up." he said and Orion nodded sternly in agreement as he changed subjects, as he went to their next stage.
"Say Gavin, you mind about giving me an added hand in training, I'm teaching them blue collar hockey." Orion said and he nodded smiling then. "Sure I can do that, but you got offense." he said and Orion nodded then. "Luis, remember slow down and put the brakes on." he called out and he finally skidded to a halt at that and the team sighed in relief. "Jeesh, two weeks working on the brakes, he finally harnessed the ability and controlled it." Russ said and Charlie nodded.
"Calling us by name, yeah Coach couldn't have picked a better replacement, we'll be fine now, we're happy now, as we become his team now." he said and they nodded smiling. "Okay guys, DC switch 83, red and blue, let's do it." he said and they nodded as they and Adam's team did that one and their sponsors watched them work. Now seeing a winning team after 6 months worth of training by Orion, they knew the Ducks were going to slaughter their competition.
As they got to work, as two furthered weeks worth of work, the team was now so entrenched in the pro style way of training, that Orion knew they were going to blow away their competition. As the next day of school had the team arrive in their new team sweats the faculty and students saw them walking around the school in red sweats. And with their current team logo on them and everyone nodded, in knowing the current Ducks were close to becoming a school team.
With matching red baseball caps with the team logo as teenage ducks. "New school designation Charlie with your father coaching you?" the principal said with a slight smile. "Yes Mam, I told dad, the Dean, dad's counterparts, Mr. Parker and your sister what caused the riot. When in class when you came to see Mr. Barlow, they're not happy." he said and she crossed her arms. "Well neither was I, I hear it twice he's getting detention for 3 months." she said and he nodded.
"Karp gave that implication and seeing red I shoved him into the wall." he told her and she, their science teacher and the hockey coach all nodded. "To repeat Derek, we can let it go just that once, but we don't want to see that again." she said and he nodded. "Yes Mam, we got a practice game today, before the off season starter gets going here. But we been in training for month by dad, and we're ready now." he said and she nodded smiling as he headed for class.
"Heads up Charlie!" Connie shouted and he ducked what got thrown at his head and turned around. "Listen you quacker, we're not doing this all day, on school hours, our best behavior here." he said and they heard a laugh at that. "Quack." they heard in response and Connie looked down as she started laughing. "Would you put that away." Charlie said, smacking the boy with his hat at that. "Alright guys, would you cool it already." Tammy said with a bemused smile.
"Agreed, gentlemen start the paper ball fight you're both going to get it, now that's enough of that." they heard with a bemused smile as their teacher came in at that. "That quacker threw a paper ball at me." he said and she nodded then. "Quack, quack, quack, quack." their peers said smiling and he looked at them with a bemused smile. "Guys, really at 14, we're switching to 8th grade and high school, so new incoming next season, now cool it." he said to them then gently.
"Cool it you quackers." he said and his team smiled. "Yeah quacker, we're ducks." Terry said laughing at that. "Our district mascot in hockey never changed, but come on, we're young ducks, but you don't need to over do it." Tammy said with a laugh and the 10 nodded. "We're teenage ducks, but to our parents and teachers, still ducklings, but these pranks. They are going too far right now, but at our current age we're now dressed in these during the school year."
"But this was dad's design of choice, red arms and bottom, gold and green stripes, white back and chest with the duck mask and crossed sticks, old and new ducks combined right now." he said and they nodded. "Well you look good Charlie, I like it." the boy that threw it at him said and he smiled. "Alright Ducks settle down, I know you're psyched about starting under your father Charlie, but practice this afternoon, school now." their history teacher with a slight smile.
"Been 3 weeks and in that time, we really adjusted to being a school team as Ducks, that and training under my father. Tomorrow's post season-season starts our new regime, but these are our new school symbol in the academy." he said and she nodded. "So that's what these are, Ducks #96 Orion, #99 Banks, #44 Reed and so on, and Goodwill Games symbol. Of your team, on fire engine red arms and bottom with gold and turquoise stripes and white back and front."
"Baseball caps, red hat with the Goodwill Games symbol on your hat?" she asked and he nodded. "Yes Mam, these are under dad as our new coach, but next year Eden Hall, so the Eden Hall Mighty Ducks." he said and she smiled. "Whoa, these look great, where you get these?" Peter Marks asked him then and he smiled sternly. "We're going to Eden Hall Academy in August, these are our version to the school colors now." he said and he nodded in shock then.
"Why no C?" David Karp asked and he smiled. "In training to go without it, but frankly I have no need of it to make clear I'm captain of the team." he said and Adam patted his back then smiling and then they decided to test them. "Who are we playing against, Charlie, in the off season?" Adam asked and he smiled. "The Huskies." he said and he smiled at that news then. "We just added the sextet, so this should be really good." Connie said smiling and he nodded.
As they looked forward to Saturday's game and their first under his father, as they put his training to use then…
The Game- Ducks VS. The Huskies:
It had been a month, since the team had gone under Orion, and they had adjusted to their training, Charlie and Linda had been together every day after practice. As the first game of the off season started now, the team had never felt so alive in training in their eyes. While for Orion himself, he was enjoying being their coach and now the the team was ready for their first test. As the day of their first game under him came now, as the team started on their sells now.
As, after preparing the refreshment stand, the Pep club got involved and decided to help out as they set the amounts on the dry erase board, and put it next to their table. Reading it, everyone nodded as they saw the new design for the academy mascot and smiled then. "So that's the academy version to their Goodwill Games jerseys huh, how much are the sweaters?" he asked and she smiled. "That's $3.75 for a set of socks, $5.50 for a hat." she said and he nodded.
"While $7.00 for a t-shirt or sweater and $10.00 for the sweater jacket and $12.50, for the entire sweatsuit." she said and he nodded. "Done, we're from district 5, so 5 hats, and 5 duck sweaters please, my son is the captain of the next team incoming." he said and she nodded, and she nodded. "You want peewees or high school?" she asked and he smiled, and gave her $150.00. "Both please, honey." he said and she nodded and put them in 2 sales bags for him.
"Oh boy, now we started something, that was Tommy Wilcox's dad!" Alexander Jackson said and she nodded as they start getting customers at the snack concession stand next as one of them said it. "Are these amounts solid?" a man asked and Linda nodded. "Yes Sir, exactly as it says on the board, no extra charges, exactly as it says on the board for each one." she said and he nodded, as everyone checked the amount and nodded and pulled out said amount then gently.
Before they had 45 junior peewee players asking for a baggie of fun size bars and they nodded then and before the game even started the amount totaled to $10,500, for everything then. "I think Charlie's decision making in raising the money over shot the mark here now. But this is day 1, but we got 25 games between now and June." April Hanson said to her and she chuckled. "I know, but our total is $7,500.00 from all three of them and that's day one, but 4 months."
"And the total comes to $30,000.00 in the off season, but that's just the peewees, they're joining the academy and the amount goes 3 ways: one to the Banks's, to the children's hospital, and the last is to academy now." she said and the pep club nodded smiling then and as the team got dressed and and walked onto the ice then, before they saw their counterpart team. Who waved at them and they waved back then, as the announcer got to work on that quickly.
"Dad, we sold over $50,000 in merchandise, both versions, Tommy's father bought age both groups in hats and sweaters." Linda said and he nodded smiling. "Well looks like Charlie's idea is working, the first day on the job of my becoming their coach. And the amounts are coming in the door faster then we can count now." he said and she nodded. "Alex, get this message to the announcer, we're telling them the truth to why we're doing this." he said and they nodded then.
"Evening everyone to the first off season game for the current peewee teams, before they start 8th grade to high school hockey. Well I see that the Ducks are dressed in new jerseys, emphasizing their new stature position. Under the captain of the team, Charlie Orion's father, Coach Ted Orion." The announcer said and his co anchor passed him a message and he nodded. "Well it seems that the remission is coming to an end and with it, the Ducks have started again."
"The Ducks are raising funds for charity at the children's research hospital, their branch now and with it raising money for the Banks's medical Fundraising campaign once again. Well now, this explains why the concession is not getting any business, but why there was steady pile up. When at the table across from it, from two tables, and why we got the incoming District 5 team, dressed in Ducks original coloring, and their parents bought the high school version with it."
"Tonight's game is just the beginning for the current Ducks, they plan to do this at every game between themselves and their opposing team. Selling stocks and merchandising their age groups, from one jersey version to another, before college now. The Ducks are deciding now that the Hawks started the bonfire back in 1992 to raise funds for Winny Banks. They're going it 5 Ducks steps further and are raising money for research at the Saint Jude's research center."
"Their branch here in Minneapolis now, basing their actions on Coach Reilly's motto, it's not worth winning, if you can't win big now. And this message is directly from Charlie Orion, as captain and leader of the Mighty Ducks now, with them now. About to become a school team next year, they are doing this for Adam and Jared's younger sister in support now." he said and read out the message Charlie wrote out that was on Hans's front desk at the hockey shop then.
