Knock knock, "Coming." Ace goes to the door and opens it up to see someone holding up two large cups of coffee and some pastries. "Hello Graham."

"Hello Ace, did you get the assignment from Kate?" He says while she takes the coffees from him.

"Yes, some Autons near Heathrow." The backpack and bat are right next to the door,, she flings the jacket on. "Thanks for the coffee and pastry."

"Anytime, want to take my car?"

"We probably should as mine would probably break down. Do you have your psychic paper?"

"Always do, she made sure Ryan and I had it in case we got into trouble. Ryan uses his for traveling for his vlogs."

"You use yours for The Doctor and UNIT?"

"I guess I do." They get into his car. "Want some radio, feel free to choose whatever you want to listen to."

"How about we talk some more."

"I would like to look into those beautiful eyes when we talk."

"Too bad we don't have a self-driving car then." She says with a laugh. They reach for their drinks at the same time, and end up holding hands, "we might want to get used to this if Kate keeps pairing us together for assignments."

"Or if we just want to, you know, hold hands." Ace never has had someone who wants to hold hands with her for no reason.

"That sounds good." As they arrive at their destination people are running and screaming, Ace leans in the back to get out her bag.

"Still have some of those explosives?"

"A man after my heart, I always have them with me in my bag." After a whole lot of running and blowing up Autons they arrive back at Ace's. "Want some dinner?"

"I could eat."

What sounds good?"

"I took out some steak this morning, how about steak and potatoes?"

"Sounds perfect, want help cooking?"

"You Graham O'Brien are my guest, no thank you I got it." He sits down and watches Ace start to cook,and blushes when she purposely bends down to get a pan out to fry up the steaks.

Thinking that he is talking in his head, "Nice bum."

"Did you say something Graham?"

Quickly he responds, "No I didn't say anything."

"You too have a nice one."

"Oh, umm, thank you. Can I set the table?"

"Yes, you can, plates are in the cupboard top shelf." After the table is set, "there is some wine in the fridge that Tegan and Nyssa left for me."

"Are they trying to make sure we become a we?"

"Probably, they want me to be happy, and Tegan told me it was good to see a smile on my face the other day before they left."

"When do you want to start looking at places for them?"

"Our date Friday sounds good?"

"That is different from my idea, dinner and a movie?"

"That can be the next one." After the dinner is finished they move to the living room. "Graham, do you think that you might start to only work with UNIT?"

"Most likely, I get the thrill I did with The Doctor, but be able to stay in one country or at least my planet, in case I get another scare."

"Are you getting regular check ups?"

"Yes, I am, every 6 months."

"Good. How is Ryan doing?"

"He is enjoying his freedom and confidence that he got from traveling with The Doctor. He is currently in the states going through some of their weird attractions like the biggest chair and the world's largest petrol station."

"Where is that?"

"Somewhere in Texas."

"It's good that he is getting out and exploring on his own."

"It is, we talk once a week, especially with how everything is there."

"It is the whole world that is going to shit."

"I know, it has been the two of us since we left her you know, he finally was able to get a handle on riding his bike." Ace doesn't want to ask further and raises an eyebrow. "Look at the time, I better get going, it's getting late." He gets up and kisses Ace on the cheek, "see you Friday, I'll text you tomorrow, so we can figure out the details."

"Goodnight Graham."

"Goodnight Ace." She walks up to the door after he leaves and locks it. Humming while walking up the stairs she notices a figure at the top of the stairs.

"Holy shit, I thought that the link was broken when you got shot by The Master."

"So did I child, but I see you are happy now."

"Of course I am Professor, why does everything make it seem like I'm never happy."

"We don't, I can't speak for the others, but I want all of my former companions happy. If you and Graham are happy that's what is important."

"We have barely been on a date."

"More like three dates from what is inside your brain. When you first met, after the meeting, and tonight."

"I have never taken anything so slow before."

"Sometimes the most rewarding relationships are the ones you take slowly, especially if it is the first one for one of the parties after losing a spouse in a tragic way."

"Professor, I want to go to bed."

"Just remember Aces are special." Ace just walks away remembering all the times he said that while twerking her nose. That night she dreams of her first adventure with The Doctor.

….That Friday….
Ace opens up the door to a Graham in a fancy jacket that has lapels, "don't you look debonair."

"Only the best for you, Ace. You also look great."

"I am only in jeans and an old shirt, let me go change."

"You don't need," Ace puts a finger to his lips.

"I want to change, I know I don't need to. Wait for a few minutes." She runs up the stairs and comes down in a pantsuit. "How's this?"

"Still amazing. I already have a few listings, hopefully one of them is sort of what the two of them are looking for."

"Why do you want to end the date quickly?"

"Hell no, I want to spend the whole day with you." She takes his arm as they walk to his car, he opens up the door for her, he then walks to his side of the car and they head out to the first house.

"Hello there, welcome." The bubbly real estate says, "how long have you two been married."

''We're not married, just looking at places for two of my friends that are moving here soon."

"Sure friends," she winks.

Graham leans over, "I don't think anyone will believe us when we say we are looking for a place for Tegan and Nyssa." They continue through the house getting to know each other better, Ace taking pictures for the two. After 3 hours looking at many different houses they decide to stop. Graham gives her some space so she can call Tegan and Ace.

"No answer, do you want to go do something else?"

"Let's go to that diner over there for some milkshakes." As the day turns to night Graham drives Ace back home. "Can I walk you to the door?"

"I would love that." They walk to the door.

"I had a lovely day today with you, Ace." He kisses her on the cheek and turns away.

"Graham wait," he turns back around to see Ace grabbing his lapels and lays a kiss on him. He almost loses his balance and has to put one hand on the door and the other around Ace as they stand there kissing. Her tongue plunges into his mouth after a few minutes they break apart. "Now that is a way to end this date." She opens up the door and Graham grabs her hand to turn her around and gives her another kiss.

"Goodnight Ace, see you next Saturday for the meeting." With that he walks out down the steps to his car. Ace shuts the door and leans against it for a few seconds before locking it. She feels like she is floating up the stairs to her bedroom. She realizes that she didn't get the chance to say goodnight. Never to be the one not to have the last word she grabs her phone.

"Goodnight Graham, drive safe." Laughing, she turns the sound off on her phone and goes to bed. When he gets home he looks at his phone.

"This is going to be fun." He then goes to bed himself.
