….At home…

"Hello, Graham, I have some news."

"What news?"

"Tegan and Nyssa are going to be here this weekend, so can we have dinner with Ryan on Friday?"

"Of course we can, mind if I make some spaghetti?"

"That will be great, I will bring some garlic bread and dessert. Before you say anything, my lips are not dessert."

"They are sweet enough."

"GRAHAM! You're incorrigible." Ace laughs.

"Anything to get a laugh. How bad was the teasing from Tegan?"

"It seems that they had a spy on Saturday."

"Yaz?"

"Right, she took a picture of us trying not to hold hands and reported back about your glare at Martha."

"I glared at her? I didn't even notice that, sorry."

"Next weekend you need to apologize to her."

"I will, so I guess starting this weekend we will be spending less time together."

"If we figure out a way to do a few to get togethers with a few others it may work. We can sneak off a few times to get some alone time, and they will need to go house shopping for a few days."

"I can't wait for those days."

"Same here."

"I have got to get my flat ready for Ryan, I should get going. Bye love and sleeptight."

"You too, Graham."

…Thursday…

Ryan runs off the plane to see Graham waiting for him, "How was it seeing her again?"

"Differently, I saw the start of her regeneration, Dan and I tried to help Yaz, but I think Tegan and Ace did better."

"Ace is good right?"

"Ace is amazing, where are your bags?"

"This is it, I won't be staying that long. I just wanted to meet the woman who has captured your heart and stop Yaz from trying to get me to say if I know anything."

Just so you know she will not stop especially if Tegan gets in on it with her when both her and Nyssa arrive Saturday."

"Is Tegan as bad as Yaz?"

"Worse, Nyssa is trying to get her to stop though. Tomorrow night Ace will be coming over for dinner." They arrive in Graham's car and get inside.

"Just promise me that the two of you won't be constantly snogging."

"You won't have to worry about that."

"Are you saying that because the two of you haven't kissed yet?"

"My boy, are you sure you want to know so much about my romantic life?"

"No, but if I know you you only date with a purpose to maybe get married."

"It didn't take you long to marry Gran after you finished up your treatment."

"Just so you know Ace is named after Dorothy, but most everyone calls her Ace."

"Does she know about Gran?"

"She does, she knows that we lost her when we first met the Doctor."

"What did she say?"

"Nothing, she knew how dangerous it was with the Doc, or as she calls them, Professor. Her Doctor was a male; it seems ours was the first female besides that one we met who didn't know who she was." Ryan turns on the music to find it is classical.

"She hasn't taught you better taste in music yet?"

"We usually talk in the car." Ryan fidgets until he finds a different music station and settles on an old pop station. "How was America?"

"It was fine, I am thinking of my next one. I have a standing ticket to anywhere."

"Why do you want to stay away from here?"

"Too much alien activity. I will one day come to the companion group, don't worry."

"You do have your fam to talk to."

"That I do, and I may have a future step-gran that also traveled in the past." With a look from Graham, "ok I'll stop. I am looking forward to meeting Ace."

"She is also looking forward to meeting you."

….Friday Night….

Knock knock knock, "Coming," yells Graham. "Hello Ace." He gives her a quick peck as he invites her in. "Ryan is just stirring the sauce."

"I am also giving you two a moment alone." Ace, taking advantage, leans to Graham and gives him another kiss.

"Now that we have had a proper hello, where can I put these," she brings out a chocolate cake and the garlic bread.

"Follow me," he shows her to the dining room, "Ryan, is the oven on?"

"Yes, it's still warming up."

"Have I told you how amazing it smells?"

"No, it's an old family recipe, the sauce is at least." Ryan enters the dining room and likes to see Graham so happy. Ace looks towards him, puts down the cake and Graham takes the bread from her. "Ace, this is Ryan."

"Nice to meet you Ryan. I have heard a lot about you from your fam and a little from the Doctor."

"The Doctor?"

"You were one of the people on her mind before she regenerated. She said fam and extended fam to Ace and Tegan." Graham walks away from the two to put the bread in the oven.

"Ace, I have a few questions."

"I may have answers."

"What was your first thought of Graham?"

"Why was this man in a volcano, until he failed to trick me with the Psychic paper. He then helped me blow up Daleks, after asking me my age."

"What do you think of him now?"

"The sweetest guy I have met, I don't know if Yaz told you about her, Tegan and I being implanted by the Doctor with a psychic connection." Ryan nods his head, "Mine keeps visiting me whenever Graham and I have a breakthrough."

"You were close to your Doctor?"

"He saved my life in a few different ways."

"Ok, if Graham was to tell you something you didn't want to hear, how would you respond?"

"I don't know, I can't predict the future, I hope I would stay and hear him out."

"Last but not least, Graham didn't go slow with my Gran, he quickly married her and all that, would you freak if he started to move quicker?"

"No I wouldn't, I am already falling in love with him."

"Good, I like you."

"I like you too Ryan, for how protective you are over him." Graham comes in with the meal hoping he gave them enough time to talk. Everyone dishes up and eats their meal. "This is tasty."

"Thank you, Ryan did help out quite a bit."

"Not that much, you have always been a good cook, you were the one that cooked for us in the TARDIS."

"When you like to eat, you have to know how to cook." Ace bites her lips to hold back a smile from what Graham just said. After everyone is finished eating Ryan clears the table. "How did the talk with Ryan go?"

"It went well, he's a cool young man."

"He is, I am proud of him, with what he has done since meeting the Doc, Ace leans closer to grab his hand. "Are you looking forward to tomorrow?"

"Ugh, don't remind me, I mean I love those two, but Tegan will be asking if I am meeting you whenever I leave the house."

"You can tell her you are going to get ingredients for Nitro-999."

"You are a brilliant man, but that won't work. I told them that they could keep some boxes in there after I secure the explosives."

"Hmmm, maybe that you are trying to find more companions for the group, as next weekend is the next meeting."

"You know there has to be a few that we are missing that won't be a bad idea and we can do that together."

"We would have to be careful to make sure our clothes don't get too disheveled."

"Or we can just make everyone gossip about us even more."

"Some would think some of us were still in high school."

"Child coming in the room, if there are lips touching please separate."

"It's safe Ryan, we were just talking about how to keep it hidden from Tegan and Nyssa as until they find a house they will be staying with Ace."

"Ahh, I know that Tegan and Yaz are really going hard for you too. Yaz is probably because she couldn't be with whom she wanted."

"For Tegan, she lost Nyssa for 20 years, and she doesn't want me to lose out on the chance of love." Ryan's eyes go wide, even though he knew about her falling in love with Graham.

"That's understandable, losing someone you love is hard, and when you can find someone to love again, it's a new beginning." Ryan looks between the two who nearly admitted that they were in love.

"Okay, let's change the subject before I become a third wheel." Ryan grabs the cake, "who wants cake?"

"I do, hopefully you like it, I baked it from scratch. The Doctor once taught me how to bake, my lord, he really did treat me like a daughter at times." Ace says as she puts her head in her hands. Graham rubs her back.

"Did I miss something?"

"At the most recent meeting Martha was teasing Ace that she was one of the favorites, same with Amy and Rory who didn't survive their last trip with The Doctor."

"Is that not good?"

"I never had a father and a horrible relationship with my mother."

"My father tried to come into my life when I was an adult, he then disappeared."

"I may have something to do with that, I told him you are supposed to be there for family, and in the few short years I have known you; that you were a great man despite how he abandoned you."

"Oh, I do thank you for that, you were and are more of a father then he was." They change the subject and eat their cake.

"This is a great cake Ace."

"Thank you Graham."

"I best get going, I have to pick the two up at the airport tomorrow. Nice to meet you Ryan." She drags her hand along Graham's neck.

"I'll walk you to your car." He gets up and grabs his jacket.

"Thank you for the wonderful dinner."

"It was no big problem." They are standing inches apart when Graham starts to rub her arms and she rubs his as they start to kiss. Graham forgets about Ryan while lost in Ace's arms while she forgets about hiding from everyone at the meeting.

"You better go up," Ace says after they break apart playing with his jacket.

"I better," he leans in for another kiss, this one short and sweet. "See you later Ace. Text me when you get to the airport tomorrow."

"I will." She gets in the car as he takes two stairs at a time to make it seem he didn't spend as much time with Ace.

"Thank you for going outside to do that, I may be ok with you dating Ace and thinks she's cool and all that, but I am not ready to see you making out with someone. That is for two reasons."

"I understand Ryan." He seats down and the two turn on the tv.
