Their schedules clash pretty badly, Matt Rehwoldt feeling like he hasn't seen Miro in months by now, even though logically he knows it's only been a few days. Thankfully that's going to change, with the holidays ahead. Matt taps around on his laptop and sighs, unimpressed by the prices of flights, but he knows it's worth it as he books a flight. Tennessee isn't really his scene but he knows that Miro loves it, still keeps a house there for when he needs a place to go to recharge. So it seems logical that they'd spend the holiday there, instead of in Chicago, ticket prices be damned.

He's lost in thought when Miro sneaks up behind him and loops an arm around him. "What're you doing?" he asks, rough beard brushing against Matt's neck, making him huff out a strained laugh even as he slaps the laptop shut and turns sharply to quirk an eyebrow.

"Hey, don't you know it's inconsiderate to come barging up on someone during the holiday season? What if you ruined your gift?"

Miro stares at him for a moment, then glances over at the laptop. "Did I?" he asks with a smirk, hand reaching out for the laptop.

Matt gasps and begins swatting at his hands. "Hey! You'll find out later, just-"

But Miro is faster, always has been, and he lifts the laptop up, laughing as Matt tries to chase him down for it. Despite his height advantage, Miro is crafty and fast and he avoids Matt long enough to put a couch between them, teasingly picking at the lid of the laptop, teasing it up an inch, then two. "How much later is later? Christmas Day?" Matt glowers at him and Miro hums. "Christmas Eve?" Matt groans and looks away and Miro says, "Sooner? Matt, what are you planning?"

"Oh fine," Matt huffs. "Just look, you'd have found out in the next day or two, I guess."

"That early?" Miro wonders, setting the laptop carefully on the back of the couch and opening it. He skims the page, then leans closer and reads it more thoroughly. "Oh," he breathes out. "Matt..."

"I thought maybe you'd like an extended vacation in Nashville," Matt says. "I have a couple weeks off from TNA, and... you know, the two of us."

"You don't even like Nashville," Miro murmurs.

"I don't," Matt says with a laugh, spreading his arms out. "But I like seeing you happy, and Nashville makes you happy, so I'll gladly spend my holidays there this year."

Miro mulls it over, then plops the laptop down on the couch cushions before walking around it and joining Matt. "You're a ridiculous man," he says, accent thickening as he hugs Matt hard. "Thank you. That means a lot to me."

Matt huffs out a laugh, hugging him back. "You know I'd do anything for you, Miro."

"Yeah, I know," Miro sighs. "I know." He steps back and glances once more at the laptop. "Now I have to think up a truly impressive gift for you." He turns and searches Matt's face. "Any hints?"

Matt laughs. "No, that takes the fun away, Miro, you know that."

"Well," Miro murmurs. "You told me what my gift would be early. Would it ruin the fun if I told you what yours will be?"

Matt examines him, frowning. "Why would you though?"

"Because," Miro says, once more stepping closer to him. "It's the kind of gift one would give year around, and not just at Christmas."

Matt can't stop staring at Miro, confused and a little hopeful from the look in Miro's eye. "What... what are you talking about?"

Miro reaches up and cradles Matt's face, examining him. Leaning in, he presses a kiss to his lips. Short, somewhat chaste, but there, the warmth of it lingering long after they'd parted. The two of them stare at each other for a few moments. "Merry Christmas," Miro says.

Matt swallows. "You'd better mean what you said." When Miro glances at him questioningly, he exhales. "The year around part."

Miro's face clears and he smirks. "Yeah, that can be arranged."
