Unlike all the other ones, this one is the most recent. It shouldn't take me long to upload all the chapters since it's a smaller story, though that's assuming that I have the energy to do so.

On another note: Since this takes place before Gooey's banishment, Gooey won't have a name for most of the story. I've tried my best not to make everything too confusing though by calling Dark Matter "Brother " (since he is Gooey's brother after all)

There was only darkness upon coming into this world, which was fine for the Dark Matter species. Upon coming into this world, their most important instinct was to serve their creator. Many Dark Matter would not only hear the voices of their creator in their head, but their siblings as well. This helped keep the colony connected.

However, this wasn't true for all of them. In fact, there were two Dark Matter in this colony who couldn't connect with anyone. The elder of the two worked as one of Lord Zero's scouts, while the younger of the two...well, Zero couldn't find a use for him, yet.

Right now, the younger Dark Matter was curled up in his nest, he was all alone. He couldn't help but wonder what kind of worlds his brother was in while he was gone, he'd heard all kinds of stories about the world outside of home. He'd heard about bright blue skies that turned orange, as well as water that stretched for miles and miles. However, it was hard to imagine when the sky was always dark. As for the water, most of it was found within these warm, glowing lakes.

Really, there was just so much red in this world. It was a warm color, yet there wasn't a ton of warmth here. There was family everywhere here, and yet nobody was interested in befriending the Dark Matter...well, except for his brother. He should be coming home soon, but until then the Dark Matter had to wait inside his nest. After all, the nest was the safest place in this world.

Soon, though, he would have to start training. And once he was fully trained, he would be able to explore the outside world with Brother. He just hoped that he could keep up with his siblings, since someone met a horrible fate the last time they failed their mission. Needless to say, they weren't around anymore.

The Dark Matter sat up as he heard his brother's voice, his eyes focused on a dark figure with a cloak, a mask, and spines that stuck out from his head.

"Brother!" the Dark Matter's sibling called out, he carried something in his cloak. "You won't believe this, but there was a civilization that used to live on that desolate planet. I figured I'd bring some of that here so you could get a taste of it."

The Dark Matter's eyes sparkled in delight as his brother dropped the items in front of him. He immediately grabbed a white object with a green circle around its edges, it looked like a helmet of some sort.

"I believe that's called a bowl," Brother told him. "People use those to absorb food."

Was that really what it was for? Because it looked like a helmet. Regardless, the Dark Matter put the bowl down and grabbed a different treasure. It was shaped like a rectangular block, but when the Dark Matter opened it, it was full of pictures and symbols. He looked at his brother and tilted his head, it was as if he asked what it was.

"It's called a book," Brother answered. "It's supposedly full of information, and I'd read it to you if I could."

The Dark Matter nodded in understanding, as he couldn't read either. But that was OK, the pictures inside the book were cool to look at even if the Dark Matter didn't know what they were supposed to be.

Brother picked up the last treasure, It was a wooden sword, though the blade was broken. It looked like someone tried to fix it with a grey bandage.

"I'll be honest, I don't think it would make for a good weapon, but we could still use it to train with at some point," Brother suggested. If the Dark Matter had a mouth, he would be smiling.

Really, it was nice when Brother brought treasure over from the worlds he'd been to. It really was like getting a taste of what these worlds had to offer, and the Dark Matter hoped that he'd be able to join his brother in his scouting missions one day.

"Hey!"

The brothers jumped as another sibling approached them. Like brother, she was also in Blade form. She had a long, red cloak and her eye looked foggy. She had a commanding aura on her, despite her gentle appearance.

"Lord Zero is still waiting, and I don't think he'll be too happy to hear that you reported to that...thing first!" The sibling said as she pointed to the Dark Matter.

"Ah...Forgive me," Brother said as he placed a part of his cloak onto the Dark Matter's back. "Perhaps I was just too excited to see my brother, again?"

"Well you'd better be careful, should you forget the last time you got 'excited'!" The sibling said harshly as she pointed a spear towards Brother's neck. "I haven't forgotten the time you knocked me down and made me look like a fool in front of everyone!"

"...Yes, Mystery," Brother said in a quieter tone. He picked up the Dark Matter and followed the sibling. They flew by some of the other nests, some siblings even gave the Dark Matter and his brother bitter looks. Of course, the Dark Matter was used to this kind of thing. If having two eyes didn't make it obvious, he was defective. Maybe even more defective than his brother, who still looked like a normal Dark Matter.

Soon, the group made their way to Lord Zero's nest. Mystery Matter approached Lord Zero and bowed respectfully. "I've brought the defects like you've asked, My Lord."

"Good, you have my permission to leave." Lord Zero replied. With that said, Mystery Matter flew slowly as she left the nest.

Unlike most of those who lived in this world, Lord Zero was a large, white blob with a single red eye. If the Dark Matter had to guess how large Lord Zero was, he was about the size of...well, many Dark Matter at once. It looked like he'd just gotten done creating more siblings, as several of them were curled up against his sides.

"Hmph! It's about time you showed up!" Lord Zero said bitterly. "Have you been able to find anything on that planet? Any life at all?"

Brother shook his head. "I'm afraid not, My Lord. I think there was life on that planet a long time ago, but all that's left of it is sand and ruins."

"...I suppose it's still worth looking into," Lord Zero said with a thoughtful expression. "I'll ask Mystery to head over there tomorrow. If there truly IS no life, then it wouldn't hurt to create a colony there as well."

"I promise, My Lord. You won't be disappointed." Brother said proudly.

"I sincerely hope not," Lord Zero said bitterly. He noticed the Dark Matter inside Brother's cloak, the Dark Matter ducked further as if Lord Zero wouldn't notice him.

"So now that you're here, I think now would be a good time to start training the smaller defect," Lord Zero said sternly.

"So soon, My Lord?" the Dark Matter asked. Lord Zero nodded. "You were about the same age when you started your training, so it's only fair that he starts his training now, too. It's not a problem, is it?"

"Of course not, My Lord!" Brother said excitedly. "I've looked forward to this day for a while, now."

"Then I hope you'll be able to teach him something useful." Lord Zero said sternly. "Right now, I'd recommend visiting the lake. N-Zs should be gathering there as we speak, so it would be a perfect time to show him how to possess others."

"Yes, My Lord!" Brother said, though he tried to contain his excitement as best as he could. The Dark Matter was also pretty excited, he couldn't wait to start his training.

With that said, the duo left Lord Zero's nest and headed towards the lake. Still, as excited as the Dark Matter was, he wished that he would've started with sword techniques, first.
