Graham is starting to stir from his sleep. He feels Ace leave his arms, "Good morning Ace."
"Morning Graham," She says as she picks up the discarded shirt of Graham's and goes to her dresser and tosses him the previous shirt he left.
"You like my shirts."
"I do." With that, she shrugs it on, "Coming?" With a swing of her hips she walks out of her room to grab something to eat.
"You still like to sleep in don't you Ace?" Asks Tegan.
"As of yesterday you two have been here a month and you are just figuring that out."
"Oh no we knew that, speaking about those you have been spending a lot of time with, did you make Graham drive home?"
"No, he is on his way down." They hear Graham grumbling to himself about remembering to bring a bag for himself so Ace can keep a few of his shirts. "We can hear you," Ace shouts to him as Tegan turns a raised eyebrow to her.
"Keep a few of his shirts, eh?"
"Oh shut up." She throws a napkin at her. Graham enters the kitchen as Tegan catches the napkin.
"How much did you guys hear?" He searches Ace's eyes as he gets some coffee for the both of them.
"Oh just the fact that you want Ace to be able to keep some of your shirts."
"Oh umm," he stutters as Ace takes the cup from him.
"Like you two never did that?"
"We did." Nyssa says, they sit at the table for a while just drinking some coffee and having breakfast. "Do you two have any plans for the day?"
"I don't," Ace looks towards Graham with a question in her eyes.
"Neither do I."
"That's great, let's do a double date."
"Are you sure Nyss? You haven't had much alone time with Tegan."
"It's ok with me. We are hopefully moving into our own place soon."
Ace starts to smile even bigger for her friends. "What should we do?"
"We can go to a museum."
"That's a good idea Graham, we can guess what items are there because of the Doctor."
"We would be there for ages if we did that." With a laugh Tegan gets up and rinses out her cup.
"What about an art museum?" Suggests Nyssa. They all agree to it and go upstairs to get ready for the day.
"Are you glad to have a toothbrush that stays here Graham?"
"I am, maybe one day you can have one at mine,'' he leans in for a kiss.
"Yeah sure," Ace says, trying to sound happy at the thought of spending time at Graham's while having a small flashback to her teenage years.
"You ok Ace?" Graham looks closer at her, "You seem far away."
"What? Yes, I am fine."
"You sure?"
"Yes," she looks at him and smiles.
"Ok," Graham drops it knowing she will tell him when she is ready. "As much as I like you in my shirt, I don't think everyone will appreciate that you only have some booty shorts underneath."
"I'll change," Ace gets up from sitting on the bed and finds a pair of jeans and a long sleeve shirt. She meets the other three downstairs.
"What took you so long?"
"I wasn't that long."
"Graham has been down here for 10 minutes."
"Oh, well ok, let's go." Ace walks out the door, the others following her, Nyssa locks the door. The other three look at each other because of Ace's odd behavior. "I am fine you three."
"Are you sure about that?"
"Like I told Graham yes I am." Graham reaches across the gear shift and holds her hand.
"We believe you Ace." He looks back at them hoping they will stop.
"We do," Nyssa pokes Tegan in the side to make sure she doesn't say anything that contradicts them.
"Good." Ace focuses on driving with Graham still holding her hand on the gear shift. They pull up to the art museum around 15 minutes later.
"I'll go get the tickets for admission." Graham walks thinking that Ace will tell Tegan and Nyssa what is really going on.
"Now tell us what is going on?"
"Nothing is going on." Ace walks off to meet up with Graham.
"You think she is as good as the Doctor is at keeping secrets?"
"There is something she has never told us, well something else I can tell."
"Tegan, how should we roll about this? It must be something really bad if even Graham doesn't know, and the two of us."
"Until recently I thought she told us everything. Come on, wife, Graham is waving our tickets." Grabbing Nyssa's hand they head over to meet up with Graham and Ace.
"Thank you for getting the tickets Graham."
"Of course," he grabs Ace's hand and all of them walk in. "So what do you think of this one Ace?"
Looking at the picture, "I see a young woman who isn't ready for what the man is doing."
"What about you?"
Trying to read in between what Ace is saying, "I see the same thing, but in this next one, I see a man worried about the one he loves." Tegan's phone starts to vibrate.
"Hello?"
"Is this Tegan Jovnaka?"
"This is she."
"You got the house, the owners were desperate to leave London and accepted your offer."
"Really that's great."
"They were also shocked how you knew Dorothy McShane."
"My wife and I are with her right now. Thank you, I gotta go tell Nyssa." Tegan walks up to Nyssa, "We got the house," she whispers in her ear.
Nyssa turns around, "Really?"
"Yes," Nyssa throws her arms around Tegan and people start to stare, Graham pokes Ace in the side who points over to the couple.
"I guess you got some good news," Ace asks, walking up.
"You were right, they accepted the offer quickly."
"See, I knew you would get the house," Ace hugs both of her friends and Graham also hugs them. "After this we should definitely go to a fancy dinner, my treat." They continue on throughout the day Ace's attitude from early in the day forgotten by all but Graham. After the dinner they arrive back at Ace's. "I guess you want to go home tonight?"
"I do, you know you can come over to mine."
"Not tonight."
"Ok, I love you," Graham leans in to give her a goodnight kiss.
"I love you too," Ace walks in the door to see Tegan and Nyssa standing waiting for her. "What?"
"Have you been to his flat?"
"For dinner with Ryan."
"Never spending the night?"
"No Tegan I have not. It has been a long, fun day. I am going to go to bed now." Ace walks away from them.
"She isn't going to tell us anything is she?"
"I don't think so Nyssa."
"This started last night when Graham mentioned going to his flat if they wanted some alone time."
"You know, out of the relationships she has had, they have never gone to his place, maybe a temporary place, a hotel or here."
"That is only when she has been dating a guy."
"You think?"
"I don't know, she has never said anything bad about those who dated her except that they couldn't understand her."
"Do you think something happened before we met her?"
"I hope not." They head up the stairs, "K9 keep an eye on her tonight," they tell the robotic dog as they pass by it. Nyssa looks at the shut door worried about Ace again.
"No No No stay away," Ace jolts awake dreaming about what happened all those years ago before she met the Doctor, K9 is right there watching her, "How did you get the door open?"
"Mistress needed K9, K9 found a way."
"Thank you K9, I am fine now."
"K9 detects a lie."
"K9 is right, but I don't want to talk about it."
