December 24th, 2022. Ryan is looking for the description that was given to him by Ace of the two women picking him up. He sees a woman with a bob haircut standing next to one wearing sunglasses holding a sign that says "Ryan."

"I take it you two are Tegan and Nyssa."

"We are. Hello Ryan," Nyssa lifts up her glasses and gives the young man a hug.

"We have your grandad in this wacky family, now we have you."

"Come on you two, it will already be hell getting back to Graham's old flat."

"Old flat?"

"He is staying with Ace right now, and will look for a new place after the holidays. Though I think Ace has something up her sleeve."

"Knowing Ace she does." Nyssa adds.

"Does Graham still rent the place?"

"Don't worry he does. His lease isn't up yet and Ace convinced him to wait to clean out until he needed to stop leasing it." They continue the long drive.

"So Ryan, be honest how do you truly feel about Graham seeing Ace."

"I am happy for them. Graham being happy is a great thing to know, though it would be great to learn about things happening when they are and from him and not Yaz."

"We are guessing that Yaz told you about what happened a few weeks ago?"

"Yes."

"Graham was not in the right mind when it happened. I can't remember the last time I had seen anyone react like that. Not even Yaz when the Master shot the Doctor and caused her to most likely regenerate. Though while Yaz was piloting the TARDIS I did catch Graham watching Ace. She was denying it of course."

"You two are happy about Ace and Graham."

"Let me answer this," Nyssa puts her hand on Tegan's knee for a quick second, "Tegan, we are more than happy. While Ace has been happy for years and laughed freely and all; we haven't seen her this delirious I think ever."

"That is good." After a few hours of fighting traffic they arrive at Graham's flat. "Thank you two for participating in the surprise and having me for dinner tomorrow."

"It's Christmas of course we would have you over." Tegan and Nyssa drive away at that point.

…Meanwhile..

Ace is looking for a last minute box for her gift to Graham hoping he will like it. "Watcha doing?"

"Just looking for something."

"What are you looking for?"

"I," his phone rings. He takes it and she remembers where a small box is. Forgetting a coat she runs to her bomb shelter and goes into a drawer to find the small box. Opens it and puts her gift to him in it. She comes back, slipping the small box into her pocket as she enters and bypasses Graham and finds an unused gift tag and writes 'To Graham, From Ace'. She puts it into the tree not noticing a small box addressed to her. "Taking a look?"

"No, just putting something in there." She turns to face Graham who is staring at her in the lights of the tree.

"You look like you have a halo."

"I do?"

"Yes, you do. It is enhancing your already beautiful features." He leans forward and their lips meet in a slow kiss. "When are we planning to be there tomorrow?"

"They want us there in the morning to exchange presents."

"Ok, should we get to bed soon then? It's almost midnight."

"We should," they hold hands as they walk up to go to bed.

The Next Morning….

"Happy Christmas Graham."

"Happy Christmas Ace," they lay in bed after sharing a small good morning kiss not caring about morning breath. "When should we get up?"

"I wish we could just lay here, but if we are late they will never let me live it down. This is my first holiday in a relationship with someone."

"Ok," Graham rolls over and gets out of bed Ace following suit. Around an hour later the pair arrive at Tegan and Nyssa's with Christmas gifts for both and each other in hand. Ace walks right in.

"Happy Christmas to you two," she sing songs.

"Happy Christmas Ace."

"Where's Graham?" He comes into the kitchen.

"I was just putting the gifts under the tree, Happy Christmas you two." Ace runs out and digs the box from her pocket that she grabbed quickly before Graham could see it and puts it in a spot in the tree.

Tegan comes up behind her, "You seem more chipper than usual for Christmas."

"I am," she looks to make sure Graham is still in the kitchen, "going to ask Graham to officially move in with me today."

"Just wait until Ryan gets here."

"I will, how did it go last night, picking him up."

"Fine, he is nice, just wishes that he would stop finding out about what happens to Graham and in conjunction you through Yaz."

"That will hopefully stop. We are just wrapped up in each other a lot."

"You are in the honeymoon phase, so it's expected. Graham staying with you must be going well if you are," Ace gives a small shush movement with her hands.

"Ask me what?"

"Oh if you want something to drink."

"I was the one in the kitchen, sweetheart." Tegan's eyes go wide when hearing the pet name. "Do you want something to drink, how about you Tegan, do you want something to drink?"

"I am good," Tegan replies.

"Just some coffee."

"On it."

After Graham leaves the room, "Sweetheart, since when have you liked pet names."

"It is different with Graham, how the Professor called me Ace at times it was like one too."

"This is different, it's your boyfriend."

"I had a few girlfriends that gave me pet names."

"So a few girlfriends that you probably liked a lot and Graham."

"Yes," Nyssa comes into the room with her phone attached to her ear with a wide smile on her face.

"It's ok that the two of you are not going to be here as long as you are together, Neeka."

"How is Momma?"

"She is talking to Ace, do you want to talk to her?"

"Both Adric and I do. Can you put me on speaker phone?"

"Of course I can."

Nyssa puts her phone on speaker, "Hello Momma."

"Neeka?"

"And Adric." Ace slightly walks away from the two on the phone with their kids and joins Graham in the kitchen.

"Happy Christmas."Trying not to cry, because while Neeka has called them at least once a month, they haven't heard from Adric in nine months.

"Happy Christmas Moms."Nyssa walks closer to her wife knowing how much not hearing from their son has hurt her wife.

"How are the both of you?"

"Well," Neeka starts to reply, "I started seeing someone who lives in London."

"Who?"

"Her name is Yaz." Both Tegan and Nyssa look at each other and try not to laugh.

"Before I had to leave London, to try and get my brother, we met at a coffee shop and hit it off."

"That's great. We know Yaz. She is close to Ace's boyfriend."

"Wait Ace is seeing someone?" A shocked Neeka asks.

''She is and they are both here, probably in the kitchen."

"How does Yaz know him?"

Nyssa stops Tegan from replying, "You two know how Tegan and I used to travel with the man called the Doctor?"

"Yes," in unison.

"Until recently both of them along with Graham's grandson traveled with them."

"Ok.''They hear laughing from the kitchen. "Ace sounds happy."

"She is, in fact she told me that she is going to ask Graham to move in with her."

"That's great."

"Adric, what are your thoughts?"asks Nyssa.

"Of course I am happy for my aunt. I am sorry that I haven't called. Neeka tells me that you two moved to London?"

"It's ok, as long as you are safe."They say goodbye to their kids and go to the kitchen to see how Ace and Graham are teasing each other. "Adric and Neeka say hi and that they are happy for you Ace."

"I am happy for me too." She laughs as Graham pokes her in a ticklish spot.

"Oh Neeka is seeing somebody that we know."

"Who?"

"Yaz."

"I wonder if Ryan knows."

"They didn't meet from one of those dating apps. They met at a coffee shop."

"Probably the most normal meeting any one of us have had." Nyssa goes to start cooking again.

"Can I help you out," Graham goes up to her.

"Yes you can, finally someone who actually wants to help me cook." She sticks her tongue out at her wife and best friend.

"Come on Ace, let's go out to the front room while these two cook." They exit the kitchen. "How are we going to surprise Graham when Ryan gets here?"

"He is going to text me when he gets here so I can meet him at the door."

"I wonder who Graham is going to be more happy about seeing his grandson or officially moving in with you?"

"He hasn't said yes yet."

"He will, don't worry."

"I am not worrying."

With a laugh, "Sure you're not Ace. You know what the next step is right?"

"I do, and that step will be up to Graham."

"You can always do it, you know."

"Yes, I know, but Graham deserves to propose to me."

"It is so odd to hear you mention engagement and then marriage."

"You know the reason I dated was to find someone to marry right? I just couldn't find the right one."

"Now you have and will have a step-grandson."

"Like you did with Neeka and Adric."

"They became my kids."

"Exactly. Granted, who knows what is going to happen with Yaz and Neeka."

"The universe is sometimes really small." They both start laughing hard.

While in the kitchen, "So you are thinking about it?"

"Yes, I am. I love Ace, Ryan likes her enough to worry about what happened last month."

"When are you going to do it?"

"I don't know yet. I got her some earrings for Christmas and when she opens it up I will see her reaction to getting jewelry."

"How did she react when the tabloid was released about the two of you in Perivale."

"What tabloid?"

"You didn't see any?"

"When we were gone we only were on our phones talking to family. We were warned that some people there might take pictures if we weren't careful."

"They tried finding people to talk about you, but no one really knew you. Those that do, refused to talk. Though some in Perivale couldn't stop talking about Ace," Graham starts to fume at that. "She is used to, sadly, a few of her relationships being talked about."

"I was never one for them."

"That is good to hear, so back to the question."

"I don't even have a ring for her yet."

"Did you see any that you liked?"

"Yes, I did. I am just trying to imagine Ace in any of them while working at her foundation then with UNIT."

"Speaking of that, you think Ace would like it if I started there at the beginning of the year. I am done with hostile aliens."

"She would love that. She has kept a position open for you."

"Good, I will tell her tonight."

"She'll love that." Tegan enters the kitchen with a large smile, "what is that smile for Tegan."

"You'll see," Tegan walks over to Nyssa. A few minutes later Ace enters with someone behind her.

"Happy Christmas Gramps." Graham leaves the stove and gives Ryan a big hug. Ace walks over to her friends.

"When did you get here?"

"Last night, this has been planned since earlier this month."

"Who all helped?"

"Everyone here."

"Everyone," Graham looks at the three near the stove. "Thank you." He turns back to Ryan, "Happy Christmas Ryan." After he hugs Ryan again he goes to the other three. "Thank you Tegan," he hugs her, "thank you Nyssa," he hugs her, "thank you honey," he brings her in for a kiss.

"You're welcome."

"Ace, Tegan, do you want to set the table?"

"Can I also help, knowing Grandad he probably also helped cook."

"He did, but you are a first time guest."

They sit down, ''So, Tegan, Nyssa, how were the last two meetings?"

"Good, our leader wasn't there so it took some time in the first meeting to get started."

Ryan finishes a bite, "So how was your little vacation?"

"Interesting."

"Some people were jealous that I had left Perivale, and never really returned after my last adventure there with the Doctor."

"Especially Tag and Liam."

"You two ran into Liam?" Tegan asks knowing that Ace has felt bad about not contacting her long lost brother.

"Yes, and to make up for lost time I have called him a few times. We switched places from the first time we met."

"It's good you are back in contact with your brother."

"It is." Tegan starts to get an evil smile.

"Maybe one day he could give you away." Ace's eyes go wide as Nyssa looks at Graham who is trying to rub his ring finger with the thumb.

"When that day comes I don't need anyone to give me away." Ryan is just watching Graham while listening to the two talk. He knows he has to talk to him. After everyone is finished eating they move into the living room. Tegan and Nyysa are next to each other. Graham has pulled up a chair next to the recliner that Ace is in, Ryan on the floor as everyone has gifts laid out in front of them. Both Ace and Graham eyeing small boxes that are for them.

"How about we go from youngest to oldest opening up gifts." Ryan opens up his gifts.

"Ace, you need to open the small box last," Nyssa says.

"Ok?" Ace leans over to pick up something long, "a new bat wicked." After opening up a few more she gets to the small box, "from Graham," she takes a breath opening it up to reveal a pair of diamond earrings that glitter in the light of a tree. "They're gorgeous, thank you," she gives Graham a quick kiss.

Nyssa opens up hers next she gets a new shirt, pants, an online subscription to new tech weekly, and a few books. Tegan gets the same except for the magazine.

Graham opens most of his gifts including an apron from Nyssa "I am glad to finally have someone who wants to and enjoys helping me cook family dinners."

Graham continues to open presents when he gets to the small box and notices Ace faces him more. "A key?"

"Graham you staying with me these past few weeks has been some of the best I have had in years. I was wondering instead of finding a new place of your own; you fully move in with me."

"Yes, I would love to move in with you, Ace." They just sit there staring at each other smiling.

"I guess Ace knew the two things Gramps wanted for Christmas." That draws both of them out of their trance.

"She did help plan to have you here for Christmas, though looking at everyone was your idea, and asked me to move in with her."

"I am glad that you found each other."

Tegan starts to laugh, "Love came from the strangest place." They put on a Christmas movie and settle in, Tegan and Nyssa cuddling on the couch, Ace pulls Graham to the recliner and sits in his lap. After the movie is over Ryan gets up first after saying his goodbyes, grabs up his new shirts and heads out.

"Guys it's snowing." Tegan grabs her jacket, Graham grabs the red blanket on the back of the couch to watch the Christmas snow fall. Tegan wraps her arms around Nyssa as she leans back in her arms. Ace and Graham do the same thing. Ryan looks back to see the two couples and quickly grabs out his phone and takes a picture. Thinks about sending it off to Yaz, but decides against it. "I am thinking of staying here for New Years this year."

The four people look his way, "That's good to hear, the companions are all going to celebrate together."

"Really?"

"Yes, who knows maybe Yaz will bring her new girlfriend."

"Who's that?"

"Neeka Traken Jovanka."

"As in?"

"Yes, our daughter."

"That's brilliant, does she know that Neeka isn't?"

"We don't know, but it shouldn't matter as we know that she has fallen for aliens before."

"It doesn't I am just glad that she has started seeing someone.''

"So are we," Graham says, knowing Ace has always wanted Yaz to be happy.

"I just love that Neeka is seeing someone that will treat her right."

"Me too Nys, me too." They stand there watching the snow some more before Ryan leaves.

"Graham, it's probably time for us to leave too."

"K," They walk into the house to bundle up and pack up their car and say goodbyes to Tegan and Nyssa.

As soon as they leave the driveway in Graham's car, "He is ring shopping."

"That is great, she is ready for it. I even told her she could propose, but she said she wanted Graham to."

"Did you know she was going to ask him to fully move in?"

"I saw her put the box in the tree."

"Graham got her the earrings to make sure she would be ok with jewelry. In his mind he is trying to think of a ring that would be ok with both of her jobs.

"One of us or the both of us should offer our help to find the ring."

"The both of us sound good. Now how are we going to do this without Ace knowing. Neither of them are supposed to be back at UNIT yet, and I don't want to go back to UNIT."

"Honey," Tegan starts to get a smile and kisses her forehead. "We can go over there tomorrow and tell Ace about it and while Ace is getting everything put together we can tell him about the two of us helping him."

"That won't be a bad idea, should we just randomly show up?"

"Hahahahahahahahahahah, we might interrupt them you know."

"That is why we will knock Tegan."

"How about we wait until Monday?"

"Why Monday?"

"Tomorrow is Boxing Day and Sunday after all. They can have one day to themselves."

"They have had basically three weeks to themselves."

"You remember how we were a lot of the time."

"Yes, I do." Tegan goes closer to her wife, "We sometimes are still like that." She takes Nyssa in her arms and kisses her. They head upstairs and don't leave until the next morning.
