"Oh, Doctor, I didn't know you had a signed copy of A Christmas Carol!" Mrs. Hudson gushed.
Watson flushed. "I must confess I was quite a fan when I was a child. Still am, honestly."
"No shame at all in that," Mrs. Hudson replied enthusiastically. "You know, you ought to have a book signing event."
Watson's pink face flushed deeper crimson. "I've only published the one book."
"And? That's enough for a book signing."
He shook his head. "I... I would have to speak with my editor."
"See that you do, Doctor. I know a good many ladies who would attend! Perhaps you'd even meet a nice girl there."
He flushed a red darker still, and the landlady replied with a mischievous grin.
