Chapter Two:

Harry and Ginny landed in an unfamiliar area later on, and they were both so relieved to have gotten out of there when they did. It was quick thinking on Ginny's behalf, but even she couldn't believe that it worked. Neither of them knew whose broomstick had appeared to them. Harry set it down as Ginny tried to calm herself once again, and he was pacing. She watched him carefully, as if she knew exactly what was on his mind.

"Did you hear what he said?" Harry suddenly asked her.

"Who?"

"Pettigrew." He answered. "He called us by my parents' first names, that means they are still alive! We have to find them quickly so that we can stop Voldemort and-"

"Wait a minute!" Ginny shouted, which caught Harry completely off guard. The uncertainty was eating away at her like maggots, as was the stress of the situation. They nearly died just moments ago. "I heard Voldemort try to kill us, if that's what you mean!"

Harry shook his head, "He wouldn't have-"

"How can you be so sure?!"

"Because I would have stopped him!" They were getting in each other's faces now for a shouting match that neither were destined to win. Truth be told, Harry and Ginny were both far too stubborn and hot headed to admit that they were wrong. Add in Harry's determination and Ginny's realism, them having to work together on anything was an impossible feat. That being said, Harry really didn't mind her as a person, but they weren't technically friends. They saw each other a lot because of Ron and school, but that was it.

Ginny crossed her arms over her chest and glared at him. "You always have to be the hero, don't you?" She asked of responding he just sort of shrugged her off and started walking off. Neither of them knew where they were or what they were going to do, but Harry didn't care. "Where are you going? You don't even know where we are!" Ginny contemplated on following him, but as the distance only grew further she knew she had no choice. She ran after him to catch up, and soon she was by his side again. He didn't seem to notice, or he just didn't care, and the silence that followed was uncomfortable.

A part of her felt sorry for blowing up at him because she knew that he was only trying to get back something that he lost. Her parents were alive, and she had a loving family whereas Harry did not, at least not until he met the Weasley's. The Weasley's were everything that Harry never had, but now he had a chance to go back and change all that. Whilst she didn't agree with him, she couldn't necessarily blame him either.

After a while of not speaking, Harry finally broke the silence. He looked around and said, "I know where we are."

"Where?" She eagerly responded. Her voice sounded so foreign in this desolate place after not saying anything for so long. But she was desperate for answers, and she had no choice but to trust Harry, which always had before.

"If I'm not mistaken, then Grimmauld Place should be right about…here." They stood in front of a large flat building with many stories and windows. It looked in better shape than what they were used to, but it was recognisable all the same. He and Ginny exchanged glances next. "If we're lucky, then my parents will be inside of there."

Ginny shuddered slightly. "Do you think they'll believe that we travelled back in time?"

"I hope so." Harry nervously replied, "It's a long shot, but I reckon we don't have a choice. Come on." They approached the door after using the secret code to get by. Harry knocked, and then they waited anxiously. Everything seemed a bit more quiet now than before for some reason, but Harry tried not to delve too deep into why, unlike Ginny. She was beside herself with all of this madness, and she was desperately trying to hold it together for Harry's sake. And her humility.

The door creaked open, and Harry poked his head inside first. "Hello?" He called out, but there was no answer. So he stepped in, and he motioned for Ginny to follow suit. They crept down the hallway very carefully so not to sneak up on anyone, or scare someone, and they kept their eyes peeled for signs of life. Harry smelled a fire, or what was left of it anyway, and Ginny swore she smelt food baking. Her stomach growled loudly in response to it, much to her embarrassment. Harry simply ignored it and kept calling out for someone, anyone.

They eventually reached the back of the house where Harry recognised a room with a large table, a family tree, and a map inside. The room was empty upon approaching it, but he soon found out the hard way that it was not empty. This house was not empty at all despite appearing to be.

He was thrown against the wall, and Ginny let out a scream. It was cut short as someone wrapped their arm around Ginny's neck to lock her into place. Her eyes widened, and Harry moaned in pain on the floor on the other side of the room. Things had escalated quickly.

"What is your name?" Ginny looked behind her at the person holding her back and instantly recognised him as Remus Lupin, just a younger version. He had his wand at the ready in case Ginny answered with something that he didn't like, and she knew he wasn't going to go easy on her. There was a reason they were here, at 12 Grimmauld Place, and Ginny and Harry both knew why.

"Ginny We-" she stopped herself as soon as she was about to complete her last name. Harry had finally gotten up whilst no one was looking, but as soon as Sirius saw him he was knocked right back to the ground again.

"We can explain!" Harry spoke in between coughs and grunts. "Just give me a chance-"

"How did you get in here?" Sirius ignored him and asked anyway. Even though they weren't technically related, he and Harry shared a lot of common physical traits. "This is the most protected place in the world, so it cannot be possible that anyone besides one of us could get in here!"

Ginny squirmed uncomfortably as she was being held back by Lupin. "Shouldn't that tell you something?!" Everybody in the room besides Harry and Ginny were equally as confused as they were edgy, but none of them were willing to listen. The stakes were too high, and they learned not to trust anybody after what happened with their friend Peter.

Harry's heart was aching at the sight of Sirius despite the physical assault he was enduring at his hands, as he lost him as well as his own parents because of Voldemort. Seeing him again was bringing back a lot of feelings, good and bad ones. All he wanted was for them to understand this all so that he didn't have to explain it, because even Harry knew it sounded insane. But he decided to keep their true identities hidden for the time being because he knew that nobody would believe them.

"I'm Harry, and this is Ginny." He spoke slowly. "And we're from the future. We came through a secret portal located inside of the Mirror of Erised to help you stop Volde-"

"DON'T!" Remus scolded.

"There is no such thing as a time machine." Sirius scoffed. "Now tell me why you're really here before I kill you both!"

"No!" Ginny cried out.

"I'm telling the truth!" Harry pleaded with him. "We don't want to hurt anyone, we're here to help you!"

Sirius' wand was raised directly at Harry, and the tip was slowly beginning to light up. There was no remorse on Sirius' face as he did this, none at all. He was tired of trusting people after being betrayed by one of his supposed best friends. That betrayal almost led to the deaths of his other two close friends. "That's not good enough." He replied to Harry.

Ginny squeezed her eyes shut tightly, and she hoped that this would all be over soon. She felt a bit woozy, and dizzy as well. A small part of her still wasn't entirely convinced that this wasn't a fever dream.

"Wait!" Another voice called out to them, but Ginny was still too scared to open her eyes. Harry, on the other hand, wasn't. He looked to the doorway where the voice had come from, and what he saw nearly made him bawl his eyes out on the spot.

It was James and Lily.
