Time Twisted Thievery

Prologue: Joining a Heist

The newest Paris mogul has opened up a museum. On top of a building, Crash and Coco are looking down at the museum, still surprised that they made it here.

"Crash, I don't think we're on N. Sanity Island anymore." Coco looked around and said It looks like we're in Paris. "We must have teleported here when you opened that crate."

Crash then spins which gets his sister's attention.

"What is it, Crash?" She said.

Crash then pointed down to a blue van. The van doors opened up and a silhouetted raccoon, turtle, and hippo came out of it.

"Okay, you both remember the plan right?" The turtle said.

"Oh course! My mind is like a steel cap!" The hippo shouted.

"Uh, that "trap", big guy." The racoon said, correcting him. "And everybody relax! We've been over it a million times! What can possibly go wrong?"

"Famous last words!" The turtle said sarcastically. "Look, we only gonna get one shot at this, so we can't mess up."

"Alright, no messing up allowed. Now stop worrying! This is going to be a piece of cake. Now let's get going!" The raccoon said.

The raccoon climbed up using a pipe while the hippo headed to the streets and the turtles went to the sewers.

"Looks like those three are about to steal something." Coco said. "Crash, I think we should follow them. You go follow that raccoon while I tail the turtle in the sewers. Also be careful, big brother. We have no idea what these thieves are capable of."

The siblings then split up to follow the gang. Crash went up higher on the roof and saw the raccoon who was wearing a thief outfit and holding a cane. Before the raccoon can continue, a helicopter flies in front of him. The raccoon hid before he was seen.

"Careful, Sly! Those security choppers are bad news. If they spot you, this mission is a bust!" The turtle said through the communicator.

The helicopter then flies away from Sly's position.

"That was too close!" Sly said.

Sly then uses his thieving skills such as cable and rails, sneaking behind ledges and climbing poles until he reaches a flagpole that will take him to the museum's skylight. Crash was impressed with the moves Sly is pull to navigate the museum's roof.

Before Sly can make it to the top, the flagpole bends and falls to prevent him from climbing to the top. He was then hang on the flag pole

"Hmm, I guess I'm a little out of practice." Sly said. He then got back on the flagpole.

"You say something, Sly?" Bentley said.

"Uh, no. All good here, Bentley." He told him.

Bentley then continued with, "Okay, looks like you're going to have to find another way up. Use that ledge to move around to the front of the museum, and stay out of that security light!"

"I think I can handle that." Sly said as he used his cane to swing to the balcony, near the ledge. "I can't believe the security in this place. This has better be worth it."

Crash continued to follow Sly to the roof, until he reached a skylight with a rat guard. Sly then pickpocket the guard to get the key to the skylight. Once he got it he then used his cane to throw the guard in the air and slammed him on the ground, finishing him off.

"Great, Sly! Now use the key to unlock the skylight." Bentley said.

Before Sly opens the skylight, he notices Crash above him.

"Hang on, Bentley. Looks like I got a surprise visitor." Sly said.

Crash freaks out when he notices Sly seeing them and comically falls off the roof near the skylight. He then got back up.

"I bet you're wondering why we're stealing that dagger." Sly asked him.

Crash then nodded his head, signifying that he was saying yes, he would want to know.

Sly said, "It's a long story, but Bentley can tell you back in the van."

"Sly, what the holdup? We're losing precious time to get the artifact!" Bentley said.

Sly then opens the skylight. "Sorry, Bentley. Kind of got a loose end to deal with. Anyway, I'm in position. Let me know where you shut down the security system."

"Patience, Sly. You can't rush greatness, and I'm about to code a hacking masterpiece!" Bentley said as he readied his gear He then make his way to the fence's controls with the help of his wheelchair and his bombs.

Bentley then said to himself, "According to the schematics, the control room is just beneath me under this grate. A well place bomb should do the trick."

Bentley placed a bomb in the grate and blew up, destroying it.

"And voila, instant shortcut." Bentley said as he dropped down.

He then uses his wheelchair arms to grab the ceiling before he hits the green lasers. He then swung to safety.

"Whew, talk about your close shaves!" Bentley said

"How's that security system, Bentley?" Sly asked.

"Uh… great! Perfect! I'll be done in a jiffy!" he said quickly/

He then reaches the control room and sees two rat guards. Coco caught up with Bentley and saw the guards as well.

"I still don't know why they are doing this, but I better help him take out those guards." She thought.

He then dash though Bentley and spins them away, knocking them out.

"What the… Who are you?" Bentley said in astonishment.

She responded with, "My name is Coco Bandicoot. I was just following you to see if you're fine down here and the reason why you're doing this heist."

Bentley then told her, "I could tell you the main reason using complicated charts and chronologcal analysis, but I'll just give you the short answer, correcting history from an unknown enemy."

"Oh, so that's the reason? Me and my brother went through time before. We can help you out." She said.

"Sure, but first we need to hack those controls to let Murray near the warehouse." Bentley said.

Coco then brought out her laptop and said, "Ok, let's do this!"

Both Bentley and Coco start to hack into the controls. With them working together the they complete the hack in no time.

"Alright, we did it!" Coco said while celebrating a bit.

Bentley then said while his wheelchair's hand dusted themselves off, "And that's the way the codebase crumbles!" The gate to the security laser opened. "Okay, Murray, the way is open."

"Get out there and kick some rodent butt!" Coco said who is able to use the Cooper Communicator after linking up with Bentley's tech.

Murray shouted to them both, "The Murray is always up to kick some butt, Bentley and um…"

"Coco." She said while being slightly annoyed.

"Sure, whatever!" Murray said.

Murray then smash, slam, and toss through the guard that stands in his way. Once he made it to the warehouse, Bentley opened the gate which allowed Murray to get in. He sees the two junction boxes and a pile of barrels. He knows what he needs to do to destroy them, but before he can, a rat guard appears out of nowhere.

"Huh? Where did you come from?" Murray asked.

Suddenly, more rat guards appeared and started to dogpile on Murray. Murray slowly got up while trash talking them. Once he finally got up, he spun away the guards, which defeated them.

"THAT FELT GREAT!" Murray shouted

"Uh, everything ok, Murray?" Bentley asked in confusion.

"NOW IT IS!" Murray said while flexing.

"Since you're done with your workout, how about taking out those junction boxes so Sly can take the artifact?" Coco said to him.

"Can do! I'll have it done in no time flat." Murray said.

Murry then tosses some barrels at the junction boxes, destroys them, and disables the lasers.

"Murray pulled it off! The lasers around the dagger are disabled!" Coco said.

"Okay, Sly, the security system is down. You're all clear!" Bentley said to Sly.

"Great, I'm going in." He then looks at Crash. "And I'm bringing our new fuzzy friend with me."

"Fuzzy friend, are you talking about Crash?" Coco asked.

Crash then responds by clucking like a chicken.

Knowing that Crash did that she said, "Yep, that's definitely him. Only my big brother would have done something like that."

Sly then drops down while using a cable to keep him afloat. Crash then jumped down before falling and crashing onto the floor. As Crash recovered from the fall, Sly took the dagger and replaced it with his calling card, but afterwards the light turned on and a door opened showing Carmelita Fox was waiting for him.

"Huh, what the?" Sly said completely shocked at seeing Carmelita here.

"You didn't really think you could get away with it did you, Ringtail?" Carmelita said while pointing her shock pistol at both of them.

"Uh-oh…" Crash said.

"Hey, Carmelita, funny seeing you here." Sly said nervously

"Sly Cooper, you no-good, lying thief! I'm locking you up for good!" Carmelita then looked at Crash and said, "And that goes for your new friend here too."

Crash then whimpered and raised his hands until Sly grabbed his hand and said to Carmelita, "Sorry, we got to take a rain check on that!" Sly and Crash then head back to the roof through the skylight. He then said to Carmelita "I'll call you!"

Carmelita then shoots the skylight with her shock pistol. Afterwards she shouted, "COOPER!"

"Good evening, this is Sly Cooper. I like to request a ride." Sly said as he put the dagger on his back.

"Cute, Sly. Now quit messing around and get down here! We're in the van and ready to roll!" Bentley said.

Coco added with, "And when you land on the van's roof, make sure you give the dagger to me, Sly. I need to scan it with something I have."

Sly and Crash head to the tip of the roof. They all looked back and saw a bunch of rat guards firing at them.

"Au revoir!" Sly said as he jumped off the roof with Crash following him. All three then land on the van's roof.

"Ok, blondie here you go." Sly said as he handed the dagger to Coco.

Coco then shouted, "I told you, my name is Coco!" She then used her laptop to scan the dagger with a ninja star she got out from the crate she was holding in her pocket. Crash then gets in the Cooper Van through the window.

"Let's hit it!" Sly said while bang the van's roof with the bottom of his cane,

"Buckle up, boys! …and girl!" Murray said as he drove the van forward and started to smash things with it. "Oh yeah, just like in the demolition derby!"

"Does he always drive this reckless?" Coco asked while having a hard time staying in her seat.

"Pretty much, especially during a getaway." Sly said.

The van ended up smashing through the museum fence while dodging the guards' vans and trees.

"Where are you going?" Bentley asked.

"Just setting up for the jump." Murray said as he started to get the van near a part of the destroyed gate. Using it as a ramp, the van flew back to the street. Welcome to Air Murray! Thanks for flying!

"Nice landing Murray." Sly said as he got in the van.

Crash ending up getting sick and throwing up out the window. Coco was annoyed by Murray's reckless driving and blew her hair bang since it was in her eye due to Murray driving.

"Hey, Bentley, blondie, not to complain, but we're kind of trapped here." Sly said to them.

Coco, while getting slighty angry and Sly for not calling her by her name, said, "It's fine, Sly. I just finished scanning a dagger with the ninja star and it is from the timeline you guys want to go to. I'll just put them both in here." She then put the dagger in the time machine's receptacle.

"Perfect. Isotopic decay calibrated… Adjusting fusion synthesis.." Bentley said, testing to see if the time machine is working. "Anytime you want to punch it, Murray."

"Oh no…" Coco thought to herself.

"You got it chum!" Murray said while punching the gas.

"Keep going forward, Murray! Do NOT slow down!" Bentley said to him.

"I never do! " Murray said. As the Cooper Van was driving, it changed its appearance to be a time machine.

"Whoaaaaaaaa!" All of them said.

The Cooper Van then teleports through time, leaving behind the van's license plate.

Coco's P.O.V

Talk about being in the wrong place at the wrong time! I can't believe we were involved in a heist and now where time traveling with three thieves to Feudal Japan! What are the odds? The ride gave me time to tell our three "guests" on how we ended up here. I started by telling them that during one of Crash's deep sleeps, he woke up and saw a crate washed ashore. He brought it home for me and Aku Aku to see. We both raised out eyebrows when we saw the crate have a picture of a raccoon face on it, but when Crash opened it, Crash and I were teleported to Paris. I showed Bentley the crate and he was surprised at what he saw. It turned out that crate have items and weaponry form the Cooper Clan as it turned out that raccoon face is the Cooper mark. Who would have fought? As for getting that dagger, Bentley told us he was first searching for someone called Penelope. I guess she's his sweetheart. While searching for her, He saw that someone is erasing Cooper history as he saw it through his own eyes though the Thievius Raccoonus, a book containing the knowledge, moves, skills, and lore of Sly's Ancestors. With no time to lose he went to get Murray, who was in the demolition derby, and Sly who was, well, Crash and I were surprised at what Sly told us as he interrupted Bentley. He said that after the Cooper Vault Job, he faked having amnesia so that he could be with Carmelita Fox. Now I see what she called him no-good and a liar. He then sneaked out to meet up with his gang at their old hideout, learn about what happening to the Thievius Raccoonus, and set out to save history and the Cooper name by going back through time. Them time traveling to stop evil is just like how me and Crash had to do that to get crystals to stop Cortex and Uka Uka. Guess old habits die hard. Before they did their big heist and meet us, they took the Thievius Raccoonus to their friend, Dimitri Lousteau who is known for dancing, scuba diving, and fashion modeling, according to Sly. Bentley even created a special communication device so that they can contact him through time. According to Sly, they decided that he can update them on any changes to the book while limiting their exposure to his "fashion critiques". Once we finally caught up on why they did this, Bentley tells me that I can upgrade his time travel device so it can send us to N. Sanity Island if we have something from there, but don't have anything other than a wumpa fruit Crash had. He then asks us if we want to help them out and warns us that if we do, we might have Carmelita chasing us. Before giving him an answer, I told Sly what his relationship with her was. He said that it is complicated and he got a lot of explaining to tell her. He said he was surprised to see her despite that she was busy with a huge case, in fact he was actually counting on having her eye on him. Talk about playing with fire! Despite the risk of going to prison, Crash and I had decided to help them save time from this threat before we headed home. As we ride though the vortex, I know that we heading to an adveture of a lifetime.
