A/N: Forgot to give this detail in the last chapter but the original form of werewolves in this fic is like the werewolves from Van Helsing, but with a tail. The design of those werewolves is one of my favorites bc it looks like an actual human-wolf creature, but I feel like they would have looked cooler with tails. Anyways, the only thing different is that the vaewolves have unnaturally bright white fur. The second form is a mild transformation like the werewolves of Teen Wolf. The third form is a regular looking wolf.

Aurora didn't knew what to think or do. She had never seen an heterochromic vaewolf. Yellow and silver shouldn't mix like that. It wasn't possible. It shouldn't be possible.

-Something's not right.- She called as she finally found her voice, glancing at Roman who was at her side in seconds. He threw a look into the pit where Jasper was at. The wolf snarling at him hatefully.

As Roman caught sight of his eyes he understood what Aurora meant, the bloodlust and insanity in that gaze wasn't right, but neither were the glowing bicolored eyes.

If he had gone insane his eyes were suppose to turn silver. Not just one. Both .

Unless...

A particular conversation he once had with his grandfather came back to him.

"Sometimes, if a werewolf's inner wolf awakens way before their first transformation the wolf inside them may end up gaining a conscience of its own if not careful. If that happens, you must be careful, for that wolf could end up bringing more harm than its host may be aware of. Even to those its host may care about."

"Can it be fixed?"

"Only by going back to what may have caused the rupture in the first place, but sometimes by doing that, things just get worse."

It had to be that. He couldn't find another explanation for this to be possible. But if he was right then that meant...

His left eye was the silver one.

The wolf had gone insane.

That meant that with every full moon he would have to be locked for if the wolf had gone insane there was no way that he would be able to keep his consciousness during full moons.

It meant he would be too unpredictable to deal with. Teaching him how to control his transformations would be twice as challenging and the last of their problems. The wolf could take over at any moment, everyone around him would be in constant danger.

But it could be fixed. If they became one again, the wolf may break out from its insanity.

If it didn't work... people around him would never be safe.

He would never have a chance at a normal life at all. He needed to fix him no matter what. Both for Aurora's sake and because he refused to let him live such miserable life. Anything that happened to any vaewolf was something he took very personally, it may be because of his resentment against vampires, because vaewolves were nothing but victims of this corrupted world.

But he could never let a vaewolf die until he was sure he had tried everything to save them.

He needed to save them for if he didn't, who would?

~~~~~~~
Jasper felt...
Like he was inside a bubble of clouds.
Everything felt so numb...felt ... that piercing pain was gone, and even then it felt like an eternity since that thing happened, there were voices around him, clogged, he groaned as he finally got his eyes to open, the bright light assaulting him instantly, making him flinch back as a piercing ache shot through his skull, forcing him to close his eyes again.
There was someone talking to him but he couldn't hear them, it was too clogged, too foggy, his chest felt heavy and his mouth felt like it was filled with cotton wool, or was it his head? Ugh...
-He is out again but the fact alone that he managed to change back into his human form is enough to let us know that there may be hope to fix him, maybe sooner than expected.- Roman said as he finished buttoning his shirt. He threw a look at Aurora who stood by the door looking anxious.- Don't worry, I will try my best to help him, you should be at ease now, the worst has passed now, he's safe, that's the most important thing.
Aurora didn't answer. She felt her shoulders drop in relief at his words. She had dreaded the sunrise like never before. Terrified that he wouldn't change back to his human form. But he had.
He had survived the worst. As Roman said. The worst had passed now. While getting him and his wolf to unite into one again would be hard she had hopes that it would work.
As Roman said. The fact alone that he changed back meant that there was still hope for the wolf. There was still a glimpse of consciousness in it. Strong enough for it to decide to not keep absolute control of AJ's mind . It let him change back.
There was still hope for him.
He could be saved.
~~~~~~~

Next time Jasper wakes up his head feels lighter, his chest feels less like someone is pushing on it, his hearing is clearer, but he still feels way too heavy, way too exhausted, way too weak.

And hot.

God did he felt hot. Like something was burning beneath his skin.

He becomes aware of the feeling of fingers carding through his hair, and as he opens his eyes he can't help but squint at the light for a moment before getting used to it.

Aurora is sitting at his side and the second their gazes meet the second she retreats her hand.

-How are you feelin'?- She asks softly, there's a strange glimmer in her eyes he can't quite decipher right now, but her emotions aren't dangerous so he brushes it off.

To be honest?

He feels... weird... every single discomfort he had felt these past weeks were no longer there so that wasn't it, but there was just something off about his body that he couldn't for the life of him decipher. He felt tired and so weak, he had the light suspicion that he wouldn't be able to get up even if he wanted to.

-Tired. And hot.- He conceded after a moment.

-That's normal. Your body's still settlin' down, you should rest for the time being, I'll bring you some food later.- She told as she grabbed a cloth and drapped it over his forehead. It felt pleasantly cold.

Despite her kindness he had to admit that she filled him with uneasiness. She was... too nice. There was something about her gaze... How gentle she was... It felt familiar but also strange. So strange.

-Why are you so nice to me? Even yer emotions were, still are, odd. You don't know me and still... I can feel an unnatural amount of affection in you. For me. Why?- He questioned. Ever since he met her she hadn't stopped throwing him such weird looks. Now here she was caring for him so diligently.

It made him feel as if he was missing something. He didn't like not knowing.

Aurora stared at him for a full minute. She seemed to ponder if to answer with the truth or not.

Then she turned her back on him and pulled at her shirt in order to reveal one familiar mark on her shoulderblade.

That... What?

She went back to facing him. A sad smile plastered on her face. Sadness stained her emotions. Defeat. Guilt. Hope .

Jasper knew what that mark meant. He had heard enough from Carlisle these past weeks to know what it meant for him to have someone else with that mark infront of him.

Same bloodline.

Was that the reason behind her sadness? No. No one would wield such sadness and affection because of some random person with their same bloodline. Her expression when she saw him. How she looked at him and how she had treated him so far...

She knew him... didn't she? How? He doesn't remember an Aurora... Aurora... Aurora... That iced blue gaze... it felt familiar... from where?

The breath left him as realization struck. Aurora .

-Rory.

The stricken expression on her face let him know he was right. She was Rory.

His sister.

-I'm sorry, none of this should've happened, the witches... they were suppose to protect you. You shouldn't have ended up like this, they promised me that they would seal your werewolf side so you could live a human life. They- this wasn't suppose to happen.

She looked as stressed as her emotions felt. It filled Jasper with foreign emotions. He didn't remember her that well and still there was that feeling of not wanting to see her upset. Much less because of him.

-It's not their fault... I ran off and lied my way into the army, they did protec' me, that's all they ever did, 'm the one who fucked up.

That seemed to catch Aurora's attention.

-Why would you run away?

-I heard 'em arguin' 'bout burnin' the mark on my back, I didn't knew the why, all I knew is that the people who were meant to be my parents were arguin' 'bout hurtin' me... so I guess I freaked out. I should've just confronted 'em 'bout it.

Now that he knew the reason behind their wish to do that he couldn't help but feel bad. How must they have felt when they realized he was gone? Disappeared without a word? All because of one misunderstanding...

And he would never be able to apologize for the pain he must have brought upon them. All they had wanted was to keep on protecting him.

-You implied to have left me with the witches on purpose.- He voiced as he remembered her words. Aurora avoided his gaze.

-... A vampire had bitten me. I was still too human for my blood to be able to fight off the venom... I... I didn't wanna think about what would happen if I kept you by my side. I didn't knew what would happen to me. So I took you to the closest town and found the witches that lived there, they were kind enough that they didn't reject the idea of takin' you in. I made 'em promise to seal your werewolf side so you could've a human life.

A long. Normal. Human life.

-Leavin' you was one of the worst things I'd ever had to do, but I promised our parents that I would protec' you, even from me if necessary. Roman found me later on and seein' that he knew what would happen to me he took me in. By the time it was safe for me to go roamin' around the witches nor you were long gone from Louisiana...

Jasper didn't answer. Her words...

"'m sorry AJ, 'm so sorry, but I can't think of anythin' else to keep you safe right now. I should've been stronger. Maybe none of this would've happened."

His hand fled to his head as the piercing memories slipped through the cracks in his mind.

"I hope you live a long and wonderful life. Have lots of friends and marry a good woman. I'm just sorry I won't be there to see it."

That was Aurora's voice. He didn't knew how he knew it but he knew it. It took a moment before the world came back rushing in. Aurora was giving him a concerned look.

-I'm fine.- He assured.

A sister.

Of all things possible he never expected that he would find someone from his biological family, much less at this point in life.

-You've nothin' to feel guilt over. You did nothin' wrong... I understand why you did it and despite of it all... I'm grateful you did it.

Because without it...

He would have never met Alice. Nor the Cullens.

And regardless of it all he had also loved the Whitlocks.

She shouldn't feel bad about it.

Her decision had brought pain and sadness but all of it had led to him finding his greatest happiness.

Alice .

Speaking of which...

-Can you do me a favor?

~~~~~~~~~~
Alice had never felt as stressed and anxious in her entire life as she felt right now. She spent the night feeling like her insides were sinking into a pit of utter despair and now that the sun had risen she could do nothing but pass around.
Pass around for if she didn't she would go mad. She needed to know what had happened to Jasper. Aurora had assured them that she would come back to tell them how had things gone. But she was still not here.
That's when she caught the light footsteps. The lack of scent. Her passing halted and she turned to look at the newcomer. Her hair hidden under a hood. Her face alone made Alice's shoulder drop as the weight of her stress disappeared.
The Cullens and the pack appearing in the porch in less than a second.
-He's alright.- Aurora's words made shoulders drop in relief.
It got Esme throwing her arms around her husband as relief washed over her. Her son was alive.
And still something about Aurora's gaze didn't settle well with Edward.
-Something happened, didn't it?- He voiced out. The fact that she tensed up let him know he was right.
-It's nothin' for you to worry about, Roman says he can fix it.- Aurora was quick to assure.
-Fix what?- Alice questioned narrowing her eyes.
Aurora didn't answer. As vampires they were likely to not understand the extent of what it meant for a wolf and person to break into two separate consciousness.
But the shapeshifters will certainly understand it.
How was she suppose to explain it in terms able to be understood?
-Werewolves much like the general shapeshifter have their human side and the animal side. The animal side consists of the instincts and the creature one can turn into. This side is like a subconscious of its own and at the same time no. It wakes when the first transformation happens for That's how things work.
She spared the vampires a look to make sure she had their understatement so far before starting to speak again.
-But sometimes this side wakes before the first transformation which can become a bit confusin' all things considered. Thing is that when this happens if one is not careful it could lead to a rupture.
Something told Aurora that the wolves had become aware of what this conversation was leading to. Some of them looked sick while others looked faint.
The mind reader seemed to have caught their thoughts because now he also looked faint.
-A rupture means that the animal side acquires a mind of its own. Like a person with multiple personality.- She added as an afterthought, remembering the books Derek had brought with him from town a few years ago.
Alice felt herself freeze at those words.
Like a person with multiple personality.
Multiple personality.
The Major.
But then that would mean-
She had to sit down for the sudden sense of nausea threatened to overtake her. If The Major was Jasper's wolf then that meant-
That meant Jasper hated something he shouldn't by any means hate.
That meant Maria had done more than just corrupt Jasper. She had touched something that shouldn't have been touched. Had corrupted something that shouldn't have ever been corrupted.
-You know somethin'.- Aurora's voice caught her attention. She was giving her a narrowed look.
-... I think I know what may have led to the rupture but... if I'm right, and I may not be a genius on the topic, but I'm pretty sure that fixing the rupture between them will be quite impossible.
-What makes you believe that?- Aurora questioned, Roman had said that it could be fixed.
-You should ask him. It's something only he has the right to tell. All I can say is that you should be careful.
The Major was pure and absolute rage.
Something not even Maria had been able to tame.
Aurora for her side decided to not push for answers and instead nodded at her words. Something told her things would be a bit too complicated to deal with.
But she was nothing if not persistent.
She refused to let her brother be half sane.
