Jasper's first months as a vaewolf hadn't been the greatest. Much less after finding out the truth behind The Major.

He found it hard to believe that something so hideous wasn't a product of his subconscious. Created for nothing but to protect himself from the horrors in the South.

But no.

The Major was him and he was The Major. Two sides of the same coin.

Meditating hadn't helped with his never-ending rage and resentment nor had it helped at all to get in touch with The Major. In fact. He had done all he could to avoid having to even touch that.

He wanted nothing to do with The Major. He was a monster who he would rather forget about.

But Roman had said that if he didn't mend their bond he would never be allowed to set foot outside of the vaewolves' land. Because the wolf inside him had gone insane and if he didn't accept it back as part of him their bond would stay ruptured, and The Major would do nothing but take over whenever it pleased and it would come the day where it would harm those he cared about.

Jasper had hated it but the idea of not being able to go back. To never see Alice again. Or worse. Hurt her.

That had been incentive enough for him to do the unthinkable and attempt to make peace with The Major.

Those had been overwhelming weeks.

Even more so as he learnt to realize that there had been no monster. The Major had done nothing but protect him from the worst pain and horrors of the South. Had made sure that his mind wouldn't become too savage among all those deaths and violence.

Had protected what little humanity he had left.

The Major woke up when he was turned. His main job had been to protect him. Shield him from the pain and the horrors.

And Jasper had repaid him with rejection. Had severed their bond as he called him the monster inside him. A demon who should never rise again for it brought nothing but death and destruction around it.

And as overwhelming as all of it had been he had made it.

He had done the impossible.

Acknowledged The Major as part of him.

He had also gotten to know Aurora better. She was an interesting character indeed.

And he had learnt about his parents and siblings too.

His father's name had been Monroe and he had been a shapeshifter, reason why their wolf form was bigger than it should for a vaewolf. He died fighting the Volturi.

Jessie had been his mother, she had been a werewolf and the leader of their pack, she died helping the children escape into the forest. As it turns out, he wasn't the only survivor, some kids did manage to escape the Volturi with some help from decoys.

There was also Orion; eldest brother, Jasper very much knew what happened to him, he got his heart ripped out while trying to take him away from the massacre.

And last but not least there had also been Amber; she had been a year younger than him, she also got her heart ripped out.

Also.

As it turns out, Alex wasn't another sibling.

It was him.

He was Alex.

Alexander to be more precise.

Jasper was his middle name.

Such an odd concept to have a name he couldn't for the life of him remember.

It had made him wonder if that's how Alice must have felt when she learnt her full name, Mary Alice Brandon.

Alice was her middle name.

Much like Jasper was his middle name.

It seemed like both of them had more similarities than he first thought.

The pack of vaewolves had turned out to be rather nice to be around. He had established an odd friendship with Derek. Learnt that the kid lost his family in a fire when he was 8, a huntress had been to blame.

But as nice as this place was it wasn't where he wanted to be. Aurora understood this despite the fact that she hadn't been happy about him leaving.

And because he was going back to the outside world Roman had suggested one particular form to hide the mark on his back.

A tattoo.

He hadn't been sure of what design to choose so he had let Aurora decide.

A phoenix's feather is what she chose for him.

Something about how similar to a phoenix vaewolves were, in the aspect where all of them were reborn, how they became weak and pitiful before rising from the ashes as something so much more stronger and wonderful, unique .

He did felt sad about leaving Aurora behind but it was how it had to be done. He didn't belong there nor did she belong in his world. He had seen how the pack interacted with her. How Roman treated her.

That was her family.

And Jasper knew she would be safer with them.

She had still promised to visit him. Derek could always use a locating spell to find where he was and pass it to her.

Jasper had to admit he had found Derek to be quite the fascinating person. The kid could do magic what was there to not feel awe at?

And while he had chose to not be part of their pack he had still assured Roman that he wouldn't hesitate to help them if it ever came to it.

Roman had seemed to share the same sentiment.

His trip back to Forks was uneventful.

He did made sure to avoid the wolves' territory for right now he wanted nothing more but to get to Alice. He craved for her like never before.

Running across this forest felt pleasantly familiar, almost nostalgic, the wind was cold against his face and as much as he ran he could feel the tiny snowflakes kissing his skin like tiny daggers, cold was something he had grown to feel, it didn't particularly bother him but he could definitely feel it.

Still.

He couldn't care less about it.

Because he was finally gonna see his little pixie.

After an entire year of not being able to see her, hear her, it had felt like torture.

Now it was all over.

He was coming home.

~~~~~~~~~
Alice laid on the bed staring at the snowflakes outside. Head resting on top of her arms and ankles crossed.
Thanks to the half open door she could hear Emmett arguing with Bella over his mountain lion having been bigger than the one she took down. Carlisle was downstairs doing some paperwork while also muttering to Edward about Emmett not being a good loser. Esme was in the kitchen teaching Renesmee how to bake and Jacob was there being the sacrifice.
And Rosalie was in the garage fixing Emmett's jeep after this one took the stupid decision of letting Renesmee drive it when she still couldn't even reach the brakes.
Alice?
Well, she hadn't felt that great since Jasper was gone. She didn't felt like doing a single thing and at times his absence became almost too suffocating to bear.
She knew that he was fine and that this was for his own good but that didn't meant she liked it.
The first few weeks Leah and the Cullens had been breathing down her neck. Watching her like hawks and while it had taken her a lot she had at the end managed to get them off her back. She didn't need people watching over her. She was perfectly fine.
She was fine.
That didn't meant she didn't felt like the world was weighing her down. She craved for his presence to the point where it felt like her skin would burn off if she didn't have him with her. She had waited for him for so long and still, a year was turning out to be so much more harder to deal with, because she had gotten to interact with him, to smell him, to feel him.
It was nothing at all like knowing him through visions.
His absence physically hurt.
She laid in bed at night wearing his clothes in a failed attempt at feeling closer to him. But he wasn't there.
And she couldn't even see him for her gift refused to work on him. Couldn't call him for the reception in the mountains was near to non-existent and there was no address for her to send him a letter. And he couldn't send her letters for that would mean putting someone's life at risk by sending them into town.
She bit her bottom lip as her vision blurred with unshed tears. She wanted him here by her side.
A sudden sound caught her attention. Footsteps .
Like whispers in the snow that could as well pass for a product of the imagination.
She knew those footsteps. She knew those footsteps.
She was on her feet and out of the house in less than a second. She almost flew across the forest as she ran towards the whispers in the snow.
So focused in getting to it she couldn't even get herself to stop as she caught sight of him. All she knew is that she threw herself at him. Their bodies slamming into each other with thunderous force, she brought him down onto the snow with her. And as his his arms wrapped around her the weight of the world disappeared off her chest. She clung to him. Her face buried into the crook of his neck.
He didn't smell the same but it was her Jasper. He was back . She pulled back just enough for their eyes to meet.
-Welcome back.- She said, he was grinning, the warmness of his joy washing over her like a wonderful blanket she didn't even knew she needed.
She bent down and caught his lips into a deep kiss, pulling back just enough to fill his face with kisses, getting a chuckle out of him. The sound filled her with life.
-I missed you too.- Jasper said as his hand came to rest on Alice's cheek. Her emotions were all over the place. Much like when he first saw her in that diner all those years ago, it felt like an overwhelming tsunami of love and happiness that enveloped him in such pleasant warmness it made him feel like nothing could ever go wrong as long as he held onto her.
-Please let's never do this again.- She finally said.
-I promise to not challenge death again in the future.- Jasper conceded with a playful smirk before managing to sit up, leaning in for another kiss. God had he missed her kisses. Her scent. The warmness of her emotions. It had felt like being lost in a crowd.
With no light at all to guide him back home.
But now he had his light back. His angel.
He was home.
~~~~~~~~~~~

When Alice burst out of the house at such surprising speed there were no doubts about what the cause had been.

Jasper was back.

Rosalie had had to threaten Emmett into knocking him out if he so much as dared to attempt to ruin Alice and Jasper's reunion. She wanted to see Jasper as much as anyone else, but he and Alice deserved a bit of time.

Everyone was more than giddy when not even half an hour later the footsteps were heard, or well, Alice's footsteps. Jasper was just naturally the whisper that followed after her.

None of them bothered to wait for them inside. Renesmee being the one to straight up run outside to wait at the porch.

Not long after Alice was emerging from the forest with one familiar face trailing behind.

Jasper .

He looked more alive than when he was last seen. And his hair had turned completely white, such bright and unnatural white Jacob had to admit it gave him the chills.

And his eyes were neither black nor gold, but hazel.

His scent was almost bittersweet but at the same acidic. It was odd.

Renesmee left the porch in a flash and she was throwing herself at him in seconds.

-Uncle Jasper!

Jasper shuddered as the obliterating wave of happiness hit him. Joy. Excitement. So familiar he couldn't help but smile lightly at it.

He found it interesting how tall Renesmee had grown from last time. She had the height of a 13 year old but her emotions were as refreshing as always. He had never been a particular fan of hugging so all he did was rest his hand on top of her head. He did had to admit her hug was quite strong for a child.

Renesmee's action seemed to give Emmett the incentive for the second the girl stepped back the second Jasper found himself being almost swept off his feet as Emmett crushed into one of his famous bear hugs Jasper had definitely not missed, or maybe just a bit.

-Oh my God you have developed white hairs before Carlisle, what has the world come to?- Emmett's words made Jasper bite back a smirk, of course he would waste no time at pointing out the most notorious change of all.

Carlisle on the other hand couldn't help but smile at Emmett's words. Jasper's hair turning white wasn't as surprising to him since he had had a feeling that that would eventually happen. Right now all he could feel was happiness over finally having his family complete.

-I missed you too.

-Of course you did, what's there to not miss?

Edward snorted at Emmett's words but still couldn't help but smile, he would never admit it but he did miss Jasper quite a bit.

Bella at his side smiled at the amusing sight. She was happy that they were all together once again, relieved that Jasper was safe now.

-Good to know your sense of humor is still the same.- Jasper stated as Emmett finally released him.

He smiled at Esme as this one came to stand before him, he knew she wouldn't hug him, unlike Emmett she did respect people's personal space, though he could both see and feel her desire to hug him.

Thus.

He brought his arms around her, to hell with it, he missed her warmness and motherly love, and he knew she must have had a harsh time with this too, she deserved a hug.

Esme was more than rejoiced by the unexpected hug, she rarely got to hug Jasper and after all he had gone through she couldn't help but wrap her arms tightly around him.

Her boy was finally home, and most importantly, he was safe.

Rosalie on the other hand allowed a smile to break out. A weight she didn't knew she had had since Jasper's departure lifting off her chest. He had made it. Of course she knew he would make it, if there was anyone who could beat anything that was Jasper, he wasn't her twin for nothing.

And as their gazes met she nodded at him and he gave her one of his rare smiles.

"Welcome home."
