Dreams And Hallucinations Part 2
Lisa continued to make her way to the fire pit area.
When she stopped and turned.
Lisa saw the 16-year-old boy from her dream and daydream.
"Who will fill the emptiness in my heart?" the boy asked.
Lisa was filled with wonder as to who this mysterious boy was.
The boy then vanished from Lisa's view.
When Lisa made her way to the fire pit, she found Ken sitting around the roaring fire with all the other older campers.
Bryce was sitting to Ken's left hand while Hikari sat at Ken's right hand.
"You won't believe what I saw on my way over here from the infirmary!" Lisa exclaimed, sitting on an empty bench around the fire pit.
"What did you see?" Hikari asked out of interest.
"On my way here, I saw a boy with tanned skin, black hair, and brown eyes, he was wearing a leather jacket and a pendant necklace, I've even had dreams and daydreams about him, does anyone around here know who he might be?" Lisa explained.
"There's a very interesting story about the boy you have described, Lisa." Ken said.
Everyone huddled closer together to listen as Ken began to spin his yarn.
"This should be really interesting!" Hikari exclaimed.
Ken was silent for a moment after Lisa told her story, then, he spoke.
"Did you know that the lake that flows through the camp actually begins on the north side of the property were a collection of springs come up out of the ground?" Ken asked.
The others shook their heads.
Miranda was stunned, "You were right, Kari!" she exclaimed.
"Well the legend has it that the water from those springs has special abilities!" Ken continued.
Hikari was intrigued, "What kind of abilities?" she asked Ken.
"Well," Ken replied. "the story goes, that many years ago when the town was still very new, a young man named Leo who looked a lot like the boy you described, Lisa, was passing through, his family traveled around a lot and that made Leo sad because he could never seemed to find true love, then during the evening while staying near the town, his grandfather told him that if he went to the springs under a full moon, he would see the face of his true love in the water, so he decided to try it."
Lisa was on the edge of her seat, "What happened next?" she asked Ken.
"Over the course of time, Leo and Rita grew old together, and it just so happened that on the day they died, they had returned to visit the springs where they first met, as they passed they asked to be allowed to be the guardians of Crystal Springs to guide other lonely souls to their true loves." Ken answered Lisa.
"Awww!" all the girl campers cooed.
"And it is said to this day, that they appear to lonely souls who go to the springs at the full of the moon not to scare them but to guide them to true love." Ken concluded.
"What a sappy story." grumbled one of the boys.
"It's not sappy," Lisa retorted. "it's beautiful and romantic."
"Look guys," Ken said firmly. "if it'll make you happy, tomorrow night I'll tell one that'll scare your socks off!"
"Count me out," Lisa said. "I don't like scary stuff!"
"I'm with Lisa," Hikari said with a stretch and a yawn. "I'm going back to Doe Cabin!"
Ken checked his wristwatch, "Lights out in half an hour anyway, plus, there is your island swim once Carole is feeling better." he said firmly.
The others disbanded to go back to their own cabins.
